I was born in October, 1985. Not much of my history would likely be of interest, but I grew up primarily in Utah, a land of ultra-conservative people, and yet oddly open to Science Fiction and Fantasy.

I started trying to write in high school. That didn't go well, and I mostly lost the spark for a long time, only rarely finishing writing a story, as most of my inspiration instead went into tabletop role-playing games, like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. In the process I developed a possibly unhealthy obsession with elves and succubi. I have found very, very few series where I actually like how the relationships have developed. I think that I'd have to, with much difficulty, settle on Mychael and Raine from Lisa Shearin's books.

In my view, the thing that makes me like them as a couple is that they communicate, as much as they reasonably can, and actually treat each other as equals. No damsel in distress most of the time, Raine is competent, and Mychael is as well. That's all I can think of, though.(less)

With great difficulty!

To be honest, this is hard no matter what I do. But generally I'll just power through a cursory overview of the scene in question and then come back to edit the section later. It isn't easy, and sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right mood music to inspire me. It sucks.(less)

April 21st 2019 Update

First off, I’m happy with how the release of Heaven’s Fallen has gone, and even if it’s not doing the best of my books, it’s doing rather well! Everyone who purchased it, thank you very much, I deeply appreciate it, and if you’d consider leaving a review, I’d deeply appreciate it.

In further news, I should finish the final edit of Mortal Gods tomorrow, and then will be sending it to the editor,...

“The term had always amused her, for with the introduction of magic and superpowers to the world, humanity had found that the ‘law of gravity’ was closer to a recommendation than anything else.”
