2023 Goals

Another year has gone by, and it’s time for me to look at my old goals and see what happened, as well as to make new ones. First, let’s look at the year in review.

I made five goals in total, and fully succeeded two of them, partially succeeded at two, and one took too long. I’ve been pretty busy this past week, so not much to say, really. I’ll get a post about progress next week, and try to get out a retrospective and goal post up sometime this week. Hope your New Years went well, and that the new year treats you kindly!

There won’t be an update tomorrow, but there is this art piece I commissioned for the holiday! I debated a fair amount on which setting to commission one for, then realized I had the perfect scene in Lilith’s Shadow. I hope you like it!

Dawn of Chaos is up to about 75,000 words, so things are going well! I don’t know if I’ll write much next week, if at all. Hope you’re all doing well!

December 18th 2022 Update

Dawn of Chaos is up to approximately 62,500 words, and moving along pretty well, in my opinion. I’m not sure how far through the book I am, unfortunately, but I’m getting to what I consider the main plot this week. Unfortunately, the next two weeks are going to be busy for me, with a fair bit of travel and holidays with family. As such, I’m expecting to get less done each week until after the new year.

December 11th 2022 Update

Dawn of Chaos is up to about 50,000 words and trucking along nicely! I think the pace will pick up a little on the story front in a couple of days, but we’ll see when I get there. I’m hoping to get it out in February, maybe March, but we’ll see how things work out.

In other news, the audiobook pre-order for Mistress of Chaos is live! It’s scheduled for January 24th, and I’m looking forward to the release! Link below.

December 4th 2022 Update

Dawn of Chaos is up to about 37,500 words, and I think it’s going to start moving more briskly. Hopefully other people have fun with it, as I’ve been tormenting Evelyn a fair bit. Dresses may be involved.

I’ve also hired someone to go through my books and set up articles for each series in World Anvil, like I did with Lilith’s Shadow. He’s probably going to go through Lilith’s Shadow as well to make sure all of the information is in there, but the project is going to take months at a minimum,...

November 27th 2022 Update

With Thanksgiving slowing me down a bit, I have Dawn of Chaos up to about 25,000 words! Depending on the final length, that could be anywhere from one-quarter to one-sixth complete, or even less. I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into a 150,000+ word book since that would wreck my tentative schedule rather thoroughly. We shall see!

Speaking of Eve of Destruction, I have a tentative release date of January 24th for the audiobook of Mistress of Chaos, and a March or April release for the audio of Taly...

November 20th 2022 Update

Talyn: Descent is out tomorrow! Or today, for those of you who live in the future. I’m really excited to see what you all think of it, and I absolutely adore some of the characters I introduce in it. One of which gets a proper introduction.

November 13th 2022 Update

Most of this week was dedicated to rest and relaxation, so I don’t have a lot to report, but I still have some! On Friday I started working on Dawn of Chaos, the next Evelyn book, so that’s now in the works. With any luck it’ll get moving nicely in the next week or so… though with the holidays coming up, I expect disruptions.

In other news, I got another art piece back, the last of the ones done by Michal Kváč. This is for Eve of Destruction as well, though it may end up taking second fiddle ...
