June 19th 2022 Update
This week didn’t go so well, I’m afraid. I got a single day of writing in, but I pushed myself to do even that. I decided to take the rest of the week off to try and recover and hopefully be in good enough shape to write this coming week. I do feel better, so I’m hoping it worked. We’ll see tomorrow!

June 12th 2022 Update
This week didn’t go the best, so Mistress of Chaos is up to about 80,000 words. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I assume it’s at least partially related to my attempts to cut back on caffeine. It’s still progressing, though!
Embers of War also moved along, and is at about 95,000 words, which is more than I’d expected. I’m still unsure when, or if, it’ll be published, but I’m letting it continue so long as it doesn’t distract from Mistress of Chaos. It’s definitely a slower story!

June 5th 2022 Update
Mistress of Chaos is up to ~72,500 words, and steadily climbing! I’ve been mentally revamping a few aspects of the plot as I go, as some parts of the story are evolving to fit together a bit more sanely into the framework I have in mind. It somewhat helps that I have various story ideas for her that I can slot in or out of different books to get the tone that I like for this series. The relatively ‘episodic’ nature of each book helps for that.

May 29th 2022 Update
Mistress of Chaos is up to ~60,000 words, which means it’s doing quite well overall. It’s longer than I expected it to be when I got to this point, but that’s sort of how it goes! I think it’s going to be enjoyable, but I’m really, really hoping it doesn’t push to the same length as Adept of Chaos. That was incredibly exhausting for me, and screwed up my hope-for scheduling. We shall see!

May 22nd 2022 Update
Alright, Mistress of Chaos is up to about 47,500 words, and it’s coming along pretty well. I’m pretty happy with how it’s coming together, and hopefully everyone will enjoy it, once it’s out. I’m still figuring out a few elements of the story… oh, who am I kidding? I’m figuring out a lot of elements of the story as I go along! Anyway, it’s working out overall, so hopefully I’ll be able to get the book out sooner rather than later. We shall see!

May 15th 2022 Update
Had a day where I didn’t write this past week due to sleeping on my wrist. Still, I made a fair amount of progress! Mistress of Chaos is up to about 37,500 words and moving along smoothly. Embers of War got a bit less progress, and is only at about 60,000 words, which is expected by me. I’m primarily focusing on Mistress of Chaos, since it’s an ongoing series, and I’m not sure how Embers of War will even do.

May 8th Update
Phoenix Ascendant is live! A link is in the name at the beginning of this post. I’m really excited to see what everyone thinks of how I wrap up this series, and I hope you enjoy it! As I said previously, the audiobook is with the narrator, and they’ve gotten to work on it. I’m really, really looking forward to that coming out as well! May 1st 2022 Update
I’ve started working on Mistress of Chaos, and it’s going well. I already had some complete for the sneak peek that’s in Adept of Chaos, so it’s up to about 15,000 words. I fully expect to get quite a bit of work done on it this coming week. Also, next week is when Phoenix Ascendant comes out! The narrator has already begun working on the audiobook, so if I’m fortunate, it may come out in late May or June. Much depends on Audible on that front.

April 24th 2022 Update
I should be getting the edited version of Phoenix Ascendant back this week, at which point I can finish formatting it to prepare for the launch date. There isn’t much more to be said about it, really. I’m looking forward to seeing it out there!

April 17th 2022 Update
The pre-order for Phoenix Ascendant is set up, and the audiobook recording is scheduled! Recording should be done by mid-May, though proofing it will likely take longer, then Audible will have to publish it. It’s very likely that the audiobook won’t be out until June. The ebook is scheduled to be out on May 9th, which is a hair later than I’d have preferred, but I’m happy with it. I’ve got a link to the pre-order below.
