March 5th 2023 Update

Dawn of Chaos is off to the editor, and I’m waiting on the artwork, which was coming along very well as of the last update. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be working on this coming week… I may take part of it to rest and recover, since I pushed myself pretty hard this past week to finish the editing in time.

February 26th 2023 Update

Alright, this past week I took some time off to rest and recover. My alpha team has been going over Dawn of Chaos, and some things definitely need to be adjusted, but nothing feels too huge as of yet. I’ll be starting the final edit this week, and hopefully have the book off to my editor next Monday. I’m not going to say what’s going on as that’s private, but I should be able to get it published by around April 3rd. February 19th 2023 Update

The first draft of Dawn of Chaos is complete, and I’m waiting on my alpha team to go over it before starting on my next editing pass. The book is currently about 130,000 words, more with frontmatter and backmatter. Due to some difficulties on my editor’s side I’m not setting up a pre-order just yet, but work on a cover has begun.

In slightly different news, the audiobook of Talyn: Descent is up for pre-order! It’ll be available on March 21st, and I’m looking forward to the release!

February 12th 2023 Update

When it rains, it pours. Last Sunday one of my wife’s aunts died, which has made things… unpleasant. That’s all I really can say. It’s been a heck of a year, and we’re not even two months into it.

For the good news, Dawn of Chaos is up to ~125,000 words, and assuming things go the way I expect them to, I should finish the rough draft this coming week. February 5th 2023 Update

I’m starting to get back into the swing of things, as I managed about 10,000 words on Dawn of Chaos this past week, getting me up to ~115,000 words. I was hoping for a full 12,500, but it didn’t quite happen. Still, I’m getting close to finishing the rough draft! I’ve started writing what I think is going to be the climax of the book, so hopefully I’ll finish the draft in the next two weeks.

Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot to be said. Life is puttering onward, after all!

January 29th 2023 Update

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I didn’t get a ton done this past week, though I did better than I did last week. As such, I don’t really have a lot to update on, unfortunately. Dawn of Chaos is up to ~105,000 words, and I’m hoping to get more done the coming week. I hope you’re all doing well and taking care of yourselves.

January 22nd 2023 Update

Perhaps unsurprisingly, considering my news last week, I didn’t get a whole lot done this week. I’ve come to the determination that I’m at least partially in shock, which… isn’t a surprise when one of your siblings commits suicide. I won’t elaborate further on that. To all of you who gave their sympathies, thank you. I’m moving on as best I can while dealing with it. Now, I’m trying to start gathering everything back together.

I lost a sibling this past week. Needless to say, that’s disrupted my ability to write, and I’m not sure how long it’ll take before I get back the spark of inspiration I need to continue writing. I’m sorry for the news, but things are going to be rocky for me for at least a few weeks.

January 8th 2023 Update

Yay, I didn’t write 2022! Who wants to bet that I manage it anyway during the next couple of months? Anyway, let’s discuss what’s going to be happening in the coming weeks, and my progress.
