Gotta Be Citizens of Love | Divane Dynamite

“Kâinatin tek hakikat, aşktır,
Aşktan başka her şey yalan.
Hayatın tek hakikat asktir.
Aşktan başka her şey ölüm.

Only truth in the cosmos is love,
All else is but lie.
Life’s only truth is love,
All else is but death in disguise.”

“Türkistan değil, İngiliztan değil, Hindistan değil, sadece Aşkistan lazım, sadece Aşkistani olmak lazım.

“Not Yankeestan, Not Turkistan, Not Hindustan, what’s needed is Aşkistan, what we gotta be is, citizens of aşk, love, amor and sarang.”

Buluşalım (Şiir) / Shall Meet You There (Sonnet 1319) | Abhijit Naskar

“Shall Meet You There (Sonnet 1319)

Beyond tongue and tradition,
Beyond king and nation,
Beyond ignorance and intolerance,
Beyond cowardice and castration,
Beyond fear and fanaticism,
Beyond rigidity and recklessness,
Beyond the desert of dead habit,
Beyond the logical heartlessness,
Beyond the guise of practicality,
Beyond the price of convenience,
Beyond the lies of selfish order,
Beyond the highs of whims and wishes,
There’s a valley of love and laughter.
Come someday, I shall meet you there.”

“Buluşalım (Şiir)

Dilin ve dinin ötesinde bir yer var,
orada buluşacağım seninle.
Vatanın ve varoluşun ötesinde gel,
buluşalım, artık bekleme.
Korkunun ve köktenciliğin ötesinde,
Hoşgörüsüzlüğün ve haksızlığın ötesinde,
Acımasızlığın ve amaçsızlığın ötesinde,
İlgisizliğin ve umutsuzluğun ötesinde,
bir yer var, orada buluşacağım seninle.
Zekânın ve cehaletin ötesinde,
Bir gün gel, artık bekletme.”

Shehit Shair Society, Sonnet (Martyr Poets Society) | Abhijit Naskar | The Humanitarian Dictator

Poet* is martyred so poetry can live,
Monk is martyred so holiness can live.
Reformer is martyred so society can live,
Dervish is martyred so the cosmos can live.

Sufi is martyred so serenity can breathe,
Scientist is martyred so reason finds light.
Philosopher is martyred so curiosity lives,
Saint is martyred to keep the promise alive.

The just are martyred so injustice ends –
they diss us woke, we couldn’t care less.
*Shairs and seers, we are sad figures –
It’s from our wounds, the world draws courage.

Walk your wounds, surf your suffering.
Amidst self-lovers, martyr is the king.

When Apes Become Human – Zaman İnsanı Bekler | Abhijit Naskar | Dunya Benim, Sorumluluk Benim: Little Planet on The Prairie

Her şey vaktini bekler diyor Mevlana abim,
ama bence: zaman insanı bekler,
ne dünya insanlıksız güler,
ne de güneş insanlıksız doğar.
Bekleme artik, ve yürü,
hiç durma, hedefine ulaşana kadar.

Right time waits for the right human,
Civilized world awaits a civilized human.
When the last barbwire is banned from life,
Passports become buspass and apes become human.

Vagabond Poet (Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood

Bi’ gün değil, bugün,
bugün yaşamalı,
bugün parlamalı,
bugün uyanmalı,
bugün yürümeli.

Wear your wounds like crown,
not tomorrow, but today.
In front of your thunderous resolve,
intimidating clouds all fade away.

Where lips don’t speak, eyes do –
where eyes don’t speak, backbone do.
And once backbone has spoken, all the
militaries cannot render it untrue.

Poetry, my nationality,
words, my brethren.
To the world I’m monsoon,
for inside I’m barren.

The Good Conqueror (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood

Born in the land of multiculturalism,
I grew up speaking three languages,
mother tongue, national tongue and English.

Then in my late teens I acquired
my fourth tongue Telugu on a whim,
and later along the years,
I acquired my fifth, Turkish, which
became my dearest, and my sixth,
yet to be perfected, Spanish.

That’s the only conquest I care about,
for language is the highway to culture.
Not real estate, gadgets or cash,
give me languages, give me cultures.

English is my work language,
Turkish is my love language.
Science is my brain language,
Integration, my heart language.

The Sonnet is Civilization (Sonnet 2235) – Abhijit Naskar, Iftar-e Insaniyat: The First Supper

I hear, ‘just because you’re a citizen,
doesn’t mean you’re an american’.
I say, just because you’re american,
doesn’t mean you’re a civilized human.

I hear, ‘just because you’re a citizen,
doesn’t mean you’re english or australian’.
I say, just because you’re english or aussie,
doesn’t mean you’re a civilized human.

I hear, ‘hindi bolnese koi hindustani nahi banjaata’,
I say, hindustani bannese koi insan nahi banjaata.
Ved, Koran ya Bible ratta maarnese koi pak ya pavitra
nahi banjaata, there’s no greater granth than chetna.

Tyranny never comes dressed as tyranny,
tyranny always comes dressed as tradition.
İyilik evren benim, tüm kâinat benim mahalle,
dogma de la etnicidad arruina la civilización.

Mundo Mi Monasterio (Imanjali, Sonnet 2344) – Abhijit Naskar, Kral Fakir: When Calls The Kainat

Patriot beyond nation,
religious beyond religion,
cultured beyond culture –
that’s a complete human.

Conscience is my CV,
Biodata, Bulldozer,
Revolution, my resume,
Citizenship, Earthistana.

Hindistan bana can verdi,
Amerika bana şan verdi,
Türkiye bana kalp verdi,
ve Dünya bana amaç verdi.

En sevdiğim kitap Mesnevi,
en sevdiğim şair Mevlana,
en sevdiğim dil Türkçe –
yinede derviş, şair, hepsi sonra,

öncelikle ben insan, iyilik benim iman;
mundo mi monasterio, annihilation my azan.

Yabancı Yarim (Sonnet 2701) ― Abhijit Naskar, Nazmahal: Palace of Grace

Yabancı olarak doğmak ayıp değil, ama
yabancı olarak ölmek en büyük lanettir.
To be born as foreigner is normal,
but to die as foreigner is animal.

To salute the flag is just
as animal as burning a flag,
to obey the scripture blind is just
as savage as burning a scripture.

Delegational democracy is just
as undignified as autocracy,
blind abidance of law is just
as primitive as anarchy.

I look after the world as family,
so the world may look after my family,
when I’m not there – that’s the kind of
blind faith that actually makes a difference.

To curse is animal, to console, human.
If you must be blind, be blind in tolerance.
