In a World Without You – Day 15

I sip my coffee slowly while staring at the wallpaper on my desktop. It’s a quote by Nicholas Sparks on a pale white background – “Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it can. And just when you think it can’t get any better, it can.” My eyes hurt from the sleepless nights I have been spending off lately. The coffee tastes too bitter, but that’s what I need to keep my senses in check. I smile at the irony. The coffee that I used to love is now reminding me of the bitterness in my life.

The Alchemist – Book Review

“Have you read The Alchemist?” I have heard this question dozens of times from people who read and even from people who don’t. Probably,I was the only person in my circle who have not experiences the so called aura and enchantment of Santiago’s journey penned down by Paulo Coelho.

I couldn’t resist buying the book in the recent Amazon sale fore mostly because it was a deal to kill for, secondly, I had to read it and thirdly, it was the 25th Anniversary Hardcover edition of The Alchemist.

The...

Go Set a Watchman – Book Review

Before I begin, I would like to say that I’m not a die-hard fan of To Kill a Mockingbird. I liked the book, but that’s all. I was not extremely eager to read Go Set a Watchman, but you can’t really resist the urge to read the sequel of the book you enjoyed reading forever. However, that was the biggest mistake that I believe most of the readers have committed – it’s not a sequel.

Go Set a Watchman is an early draft of To Kill a Mockingbird

You can of course make it out on your own when you st...

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a Fun Ride with Heartwarming Moments and a Beautiful Underlying Theme

Most of the people I know (in real life or Facebook) have been prodding me with the question – “Why did you like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil?” Oh and there is one more – “What kind of love is this?” Even when I read forums, I have found people mentioning that there was nothing romantic about the movie or characters; they are sleeping around with anyone they like..bla…bla…bla. I don’t generally write movie reviews (not anymore), but I decided to go forward with ADHM. Don’t think I absolutely loved the...

In a World Without You – Day 0

No, it wasn’t supposed to go in that direction. It was just another stupid fight; something that was supposed to bring us closer again. We had been there so many times that it had become a ritual in our relationship long ago. I was angry and I have been like that for about a month now. I was the one who disconnected her calls and I was the one who never bothered reverting her texts. It was probably my turn to overreact and throw the blissful relationship through a dangerous swing, but I had s...

The Girl of My Dreams – Book Review

‘If it’s Not Forever, It’s Not Love’ was the first book of Durjoy Datta I had picked up long ago on a friend’s suggestion. I loved reading it and bought a few more books penned down by him. Till the Last Breath actually made me his fan and ever since then, I am eager for his every new release. The Girl of My Dreams was a genre change and although it is a generous leap for a romance writer, I can digest anything if it’s good.

The Girl of My Dreams is a thriller with love and obsession as a cen...

Dear John – Book Review

I have mentioned it a dozen times already, but would like to say again that I’m a big fan of Nicholas Sparks; he is the reason I started writing. In fact, the first time I cried while reading a book was his gem ‘A Walk to Remember’. It might sound awkward to you that I haven’t read all of his books, but I have a reason. I want to enjoy all his work, but since they are quite similar to each other, I enjoy them with a decent break in between. Dear John had been lying in my shelf for too long no...

How Can We Help Our Country?

How can we help our country?

One of my oldest blog mate Anita was voted the highest for asking the question on IndiSpire. Manybloggers have already published their opinions on how can we help our country. I would like to thank Anita for posting the question because usually people do not want to take any responsibility on themselves even though they want our country to change, our mentalities to grow, our safety to be ensured, our hygiene to be looked after by the government.

I have witnessed...

A Friend for a Lifetime

If I go back in the time, it all started with ‘Paraaaa-lelllo-graaaam’. Well, that’s how our mathematics teacher used to pronounce ‘Parallelogram’. Unfortunately, that is the prime reason I remember her. Tarun and I shared desk and it was so hard to control our laughter whenever she pronounced it. Our friendship, it began at that point.

Right through the school, we were together, separated in a few classes, but we always stayed connected. I was not someone who often got into fights or quarrel...
