The Hobbit – Book Review
Majority of the bibliophiles I know have already read The Hobbit and have praised it immensely. Well, I watched the first two installments of the movie, but they did not cater to my interest much. In fact, I dozed off when Bilbo started talking with Smaug. However, I had always wanted to read it, because there are some books you must read before you die, whether you like them or not. This is definitely one of those books.
This book belongs to Bilbo Baggins. The Hobbit begins with Bilbo. While...

The Circle of Life
“Mamuji pleash aap bhi chalo na raamila dekhne,” my adorable nephew asked me fully utilizing his clever skills that always return with a positive reaction.
It was last Sunday night and I was feeling somewhat tired for unidentifiable reason. In addition, when the next day is Monday, all you crave for on the night is your bed as the sleep embraces you. Di was here at my place with kids and they were having a great time at home. So were we.
His small request took me back to my childhood days. Th...

An Unplanned Trip to Shimla
Life is tough, boring and really hectic once you’re in a 9 to 6 job. You often wonder in your free time (if you get any) about the moment you have lived before the job life with your friends. All the fun, all the joyous moments and all the memories keep haunting you every now and then. “Life was good,” you often find yourself paraphrasing.
Well, that’s the harsh reality, but that’s life and you can’t run away from it until you’re a billionaire. I meet my friends once in a while on weekends an...

Love Story – Book Review
I found the mention of Love Story by Eric Segalon so many of my social media feeds. I know many people who have read the book and I’m familiar with all the hype around it. Usually, when a book becomes a phenomenon, you expect a lot from it and I have often found the hype unworthy. Anyhow, that has never stopped me from reading popular books and that will never stop me in the future as well.
The PlotThe guy, Barett IV is a rich jock from a stuffy WASP family and aspires to pursue a career in...

Sharp Objects – Book Review
Let me begin the review with the fact that I loved reading Gone Girl and it was the very first novel I read that was authored by Gillian Flynn. Picking up Sharp Objects was involuntary. I mean, if you love a book written by someone, you’ll surely pick up another one of his/her works. I bought both Sharp Objects and Dark Places. Since the former was a shorter novel, I decided to go with it first and with a lot of expectations, I must mention.
A Promising StartIt is extremely interesting, I as...

You’re Trending In My Dreams – Book Review
I have read just one book by Sudeep Nagarkar so far (You’re the Password to My Life) and I found it nice; especially the quotes were good at many places. Therefore, I decided to pick up You’re Trending In My Dreams as well and trust me it was a big mistake.
Characters or story? Where do I start?Actually, I can’t really say that it followed a story. I felt like I was reading a few jumbled up stories forcefully tied to each other. Four friends – Varun, Ahana, Malvika and Garima meet and for mo...

There’s Something About You – Book Review
I received a copy of There’s Something About You as a part of IndiBlogger’s book review program. I haven’t read any other book by Yashodhara Lal but I was curious to read the book with all the promotional posts I saw on Facebook.
It is not a love story.Well, yeah, the title suggests it to be one of the teenage romance books (I wouldn’t have minded) but it is not about romance. There’s Something About You revolves around Trish, an overweight girl in her late twenties who has just been fired f...

A Minute To Death – Book Review
Ganga Bharani, the author of A Minute To Death is a dear one. It’s always difficult to review a book written by someone you know; you tend to be biased. The best thing I like about her is that she asks me for an honest review, which is really commendable on her part and something I fondly admire.
A Minute To Death is a crime mysterythat follows an open-and-shut case of a routine suicide. A girl is found hanged in her room with no evidences to prove that it is not a suicide. Rohan, a veteran...
