In a World Without You – Day 290

Read the Previous Part of ‘In A World Without You’ Here

How often have you tried to find shapes in clouds? I wonder if people still do it. With the social media emerging out as the priority and Instagram or snapchat offering filters that can literally ruin the whole authenticity, I wonder if people my age still have time to stare at the clouds, let alone concentrate and follow patterns. I can clearly see a gigantic dragon trying to torch the entire kingdom by breathing out fumes. “I can trans...

A Handful of Memories at IndiBlogger Meet w/ BergerXP

An IndiBlogger meet! As exciting it may sound to most of the bloggers I know, I have always been skeptical. Being an introvert, I have always pushed the skip button whenever I have come across any invite for a blogger’s meet. However, as a part of my new year resolutions, I had no other choice, but to accept the invitation. Only 75 bloggers were invited for the meet and if you look at it in that way, it’s an achievement in itself.

I was late to reach the event!

It wasn’t my fault though. The...

Every Time It Rains – Book Review

I remember being frustrated when I was not able to attend the launch of Like a Love Song. Well, a regular job can do that to you. Anyhow, I was determined (with a higher intensity) this time and I’m so glad I could attend the Delhi launch of Every Time It Rains. In every previous launch I had attended, I was already done with the book or halfway into it. However, this time I decided to go without even reading the blurb and the experience was great because I did not know what she was about to...

In a World Without You – Day 250

Read the Previous Part of ‘In A World Without You’ Here

I’m sitting in Dominos with Ahana, Saumya and Trisha. Divik has failed us again by being half an hour late already. It’s Saumya’s birthday and she literally forced me to come. It’s Sunday! I was supposed to stay home all day and sleep for at least 16 hours.

My sleeping pattern has considerably improved after joining office; so much that I have become addicted to it. Off lately, I have started believing that it numbs me off any thoughts w...

November 9 – Book Review

I have read the name Colleen Hoover too often – Goodreads Awards, my blogging mates and social media. November 9 is my first from the author and before I picked up the book, I had no idea about her writing style. I was just intrigued and the discount on Amazon made me buy the book.

The plot is fairly simple

Fallon, a girl who has about 30% of her body scarred due to a fire that broke inside her home meets Ben, an aspiring novelist. The meeting is rather unusual, but they hit it off pretty goo...

The Magic of Warmth

I glanced at my wrist watch again. I was sitting at the metro station in my formal office wear for two hours now. Supposedly her colleagues had decided to surprise her on her birthday party with a butterscotch cake shaped like a Pikachu. That is what I was receiving on my messenger – the photos of the surprise celebration. Apparently, the pictures were supposed to calm me down. “It would be rude to leave without a little celebration,” she had said. Of course, she was right, but I was not up f...

Experience a World of Magic at Harry Potter Book Night

Harry Potter is a name that has influenced innumerable readers and movie buffs. Through either medium, the character has been an integral part of many lives. While children adore him for the overall fantasy world created by J.K. Rowling, teenagers take inspiration from his character. Adults, obviously find it a good escape from the trying day to day lives. There are several elements that make him a hero figure. It’s not merely a magical wand that defeats the villain at the end. It’s the journ...

In a World Without You – Day 180

Read the Previous Part of ‘In A World Without You’ Here

I can’t believe I’m actually doing it! I have always been miles apart from the idea of doing a 9 to 5 job. My aim was to touch hearts through my words; earn enough to enjoy the basic necessities of the life, but pursue nothing other than writing.

However, I’ll be honest that I’ve become a wreck. I haven’t written anything in the past six months. The ideas don’t brew up in my mind anymore because it’s always occupied with the memories and...

Holding Up the Universe – Book Review

Many might disagree, but I believe that All the Bright Places was a remarkable debut by Jennifer Niven. It was a perfect book for the readers who liked The Fault in Our Stars and Eleanor and Park. I was eager as well as curious to read Holding Up the Universe especially after the hullabaloo created by the blurb. Several people were downright offended by it, but I was more interested in reading the actual book before coming to any conclusion.

The plot is thin.

Libby Strout is ‘America’s Fattes...

The Last Bloom – Book Review

The Last Bloom was given to me by the author, Poulomi Sengupta herself. Most of the authors looking for book reviews are usually looking after 4 or 5 stars rather an honest review. Poulomi however does not belong to that horde, which is really commendable. Before you read my review, I would like to state that liking or not liking a book is quite subjective.

It is not a run-of-the-mill story.

The story revolves around Priya and her struggle to fit into her college life. Like any other individu...
