Wednesday, 5th August -- Gorgeous cool day here in Sausalito, high 66 degrees, perfect for a challenging hike. You note I used the word challenging -- that's not really what I meant, but alas, the words I'd use really aren't acceptable in a post.
How many of you have stood straight, and turned their head (not moving anything else, only head) slowly to the left, then to the right and then making half-circles and full circles each way? Are you hearing snaps crackles and pops? What's cool about that is that the sounds never go away. Why? Who knows what and why?
As you read this, shoulders up, then back, hard, then just drop. Repeat three times daily -- or as much as you want.
Hiking up Hill 88 -- which means nothing to you guys, but it's known locally as the Killer and they find panting hikers on the trail unable to move up or down. Ah, the more I think about it, the more I don't want the humiliation of having to turn around. We'll see. Everyone out walking? Blocks, maybe trails, say at least a mile a day? That'd be awesome.
Digits crossed today!!!!! (I'll tell you why tomorrow)

Tuesday, 4th August -- Guess what!! DEADLOCK is in Times Square -- that's right, VIACOM building, there's the video all the month of August -- plus it's in their various markets. They sent me a photo -- all right all right so Times Square looked deserted, but I'm assured there are people through there and yes, even in the buildings. It's the thought that counts, maybe -- but I'm not Lion King or some super model wearing Jockey shorts, so that's something, right?
I'll try to find a photo and post it for you -- it is very cool.
Everyone likes Stand Straight, Shoulders up, Shoulders back tight, then DROP -- repeat maybe 6 times whenever you think to do it. Great for posture --
Another one: you ready for snap crackle and pop? Stand straight, keep your head straight, then turn slowly to the right, then back to the left, then make half circles each way, then full circles -- This is great and painless -- and you'll wonder where all those sounds are coming from.
Walked 5 miles yesterday, great hike to Tennessee Valley Trail, then up a ways. I'll post a photo today -- Beautiful and my first 16,00 plus day of walking. Tired feet? Screaming feet -Are you inspired? Out there, walk, wave, say high, turn away when someone with out a mask comes near (although catching the virus from outdoors walk, is like slim to nine) it would still be a good habit.

Monday, 3rd August -- Everyone who's listened to the audio of DEADLOCK, please give me your feedback at ReadMoi@gmail.com. Why? These are new readers and I want to know what you think of them. The former readers were absolutely perfect, so try not compare to them, they're simply too good. If these readers suck, please tell me.
Yesterday, tacos at The Cantina and then a lovely hike straight up, well, not as straight up as Slacker Ridge, but nonetheless a good workout. I took a couple of photos but they aren't anything to write home about.
I hope all of you have the greatest Monday, a fine, new, innocent day, ready to have your hands and feet on it. Did that make sense? Hmm.
Don't ever forget -- SBB -- here's an easy exercise to help you with excellent posture. Stand Straight, lift shoulders (only) as high as you can, hold, then pull back, hold, then simply drop. Repeat this 3-4 times everytime you think about doing this.

Friday, 31st July -- Well, this month is nearly in the past, down the drain, never to be seen again -- it's cool but also a bit disappointing since it means another summer month is gone.
Now, does everyone know how to get to my "virtual" appearance tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. California time? I do the zoom thing, you do not have to. All you have to do is click on that link -- Do come, and fun questions, too, please.
A nice big hike today to make the heart bounce up and down -- this one starts straight up for maybe .8 of a mile, then across the top of the ridge for another half mile to Coyote Ridge -- beautiful views up and down the coast, then nearly straight down for another .7 of a mile back to the main Tennessee Valley Trail. I'll try to get a video, my last one seemed to have disappeared into the ether. And just think of the virtue, the sense of accomplishment. So, who's going to have a nice big virtual hike with me? Even if your walk/hike isn't straight up and down, get out there and walk and smile and people will see your eyes smiling even if they can't see your mouth since you're wearing a mask.
If you haven't gotten your paws on DEADLOCK yet, DO IT -- and please have a blast.

Wednesday, 29th July -- Thank you all -- DEADLOCK has come out of the gate really strong. I do hope all of you have fun reading it, maybe gnaw on a fingernail, maybe lock your window -- but enjoy being distracted from our surreal world for a while.
A showdown in VORTEX today -- this will be fun.
WALK, people --

Tuesday, 28th July -- Hear Ye! Hear Ye! DEADLOCK is out today. All of you should be getting your hardcovers today, hopefully, but it might be a couple of days. Do let me know. But the ebooks -- I hope you've already started reading this one and are enjoying it. If you're not enjoying DEADLOCK, I have to tell you it's gotta be your fault. Agree?
Oh yes, YOU'RE GETTING A WONDERFUL SURPRISE IN A LITTLE WHILE -- IT'S A VIDEO, THAT'S ALL I'll say. IF YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN IT, WELL THEN, YOU CAN SEE IT AGAIN AND LOVE IT, OKAY?
Several of you gave me quotes by Mark Twain -- I'd never heard either of them -- thank you, I laughed. It's true Twain didn't say "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco" -- but most people think he said it and it sure sounds like him, so I'm going to keep claiming him as the author. (forgive me if I didn't quote it exactly right, my brain's downstairs at my computer getting ready to kill Mia).
Oh yes, I think I finally figured out what I was doing to make FB screw me around. Digits crossed, but I think I now have all the puzzle pieces.
Everyone, outside today, EARLY, if it's too hot -- but you have to move around, walk, move --

Friday, 17th July -- I'm thinking we're characters in an alien game and there's a glitz -- the older you get the faster time goes. I've asked the minions if they know how to contact the game masters, get this fixed. Anyone have any suggestions?
Here's the deal: Pub. date for DEADLOCK is the 28th -- Hardcovers will be delivered on the 30th -- that's what I'm told by the powers that be. Kindle, naturally, is delivered on the 28th since all they have to do is press a button or maybe whistle or just wink.
Whatever you do today, work, hike, veg, do it with a happy heart. You and your family and friends are smart, wearing masks, being really careful and that's a very fine thing -- and everyone's well, and that's super important.

Tuesday, 14th July: Happy Bastille Day.
1) Booksweeps Giveaway -- simply click on picture and enter to win a truckload of books and a new e-reader (not used).
2) BIG EXCITING NEWS -- The Sherbrooke Bride, the first of 11 books in the Sherbrooke series, is a BookBub deal that starts today through the 26th of July. Are you ready for this? It's 99 cents. You can purchase The Sherbrooke Bride at all ebook vendors.
Things are getting dicey with the COVID so you gotta pay extra attention -- wear gloves and mask when you pump gas, wear gloves and masks when you food shop, and be sure and wear your mask when you're out walking/hiking. If you meet a Cov-idiot not wearing a mask, make sure you turn your back to them. Take no chances, be smart, tell some jokes and send me one.

Monday, 13th July -- Sounds like most everyone roasted yesterday but still had fun, which is the point of the weekend. Is everyone still attending church online? I read about a couple of small churches that packed in their congregation and guess what happened? Sigh --
Work today -- Sherlock's now front and center -- about time -- and do you recognize the name James Maitland? He's Savich's boss in the FBI and he has four big bruiser sons -- One of them, Tommy Maitland is in VORTEX -- Now this is fun --
Everyone, this is the day after the weekend and that means you tend to your body. You saw to your spirit yesterday, and today, it's back to your scheduled routine of WALK, STRETCH, SBB, WALK -- and above all, smile at all those you pass and be sure to wear a mask or the minions will be knocking on your door. So far I haven't heard of a single minion coming down with covid.
CHECK YOUR WEIGHT -- you've set your parameters, now be viligant -

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
