Wednesday, the 24th of February, this glorious month is rolling down. It's also a leap year -- what more could you ask for, I mean, an extra day? 24 more hours? Can't beat that. So you need to think about how you're going to celebrate this blessed extra day, Something fun, sure, but something that has meaning. You want to recognize that this day is special. So give this some thought.
.
I do not see yesterday's post, but I got an email about "seeding" so I know it must have been here for a little while or maybe it only went to one person. Did I forget tot pay my Facebook bill or maybe they're punishing me for being a blonde? (well, my soul is blonde, so that's something), whatever, I'm trying again.
Those of you out there who are fiction writers -- "seeding" -- it's when an idea or a character or a happening simply comes off the end of your fingers onto the computer keys and onto the page and you go "Well, where did you come from? The planet Zeno? What are you doing here? You want me to take you to my leader?" In any case, I've learned to simply leave the "seed" alone, and do you know what ALWAYS happens? Later in the story, what I wrote makes perfect sense, fits right in. Is that a amazing, or what? I guess it's my sub-conscious letting something slip through that I didn't even know existed -- yet. Or it could be magic, the "Author Fairy, hovering overhead, saying, let's mess with Catherine, let her ponder and wonder what this came from. Hmm. What do you think?

Gorgeous Friday. Yet again, the end of the week is here -- the present becomes the past so fast it sometimes boggles the brain.
Christmas stockings in February: There's always so much going on around Christmas, my friends and I decided to wait until yesterday -- beignets and stockings, amazing fun --
This is going to be a great day, I feel it in my bones -- How are your bones feeling? What are your bones predicting? Work, of course, and gym, of course, and then what? Make it a family night, pizza, maybe a movie or better yet, interact, talk to each other, don't text -- play Scrabble with kids, grand kids, parents, or poker or gin rummy -- laugh a lot and have some popcorn, if kids are young, let them stay up an extra hour and shower them with attention -- maybe play some music and dance with them -- if they're teenagers, well, good luck with the above --

17th of February, rainy Wednesday and thank you for chanting to the rain gods to come to Sausalito -- always welcome. That means it will probably snow in the Sierras, which is great for skiiers at Tahoe --
If you do NOT get the newsletter -- if you've been dropped or you've never signed up, then go to my website -- www.catherinecoulter.com -- and sign up for it there. Hope you laugh lots with this one --
Don't forget now: 1) 8 hours sleep, 2) Cardio and 3) meditate (don't make a big deal out of it, simply be by yourself for 5 minutes and empty out your mind, breathe deeply and reboot. This isn't hard to do. Implement these three things NOW -- someone mentioned lots of water. Good idea unless you hate plain waiter, then drink it in tea (like I do).

First thing: Most of you did not work yesterday -- sorry, I forgot it was President's Day -- so I hope you slept in and went out for lunch and shopped. Were the sales worthwhile? Who bought half price Valentine candy?
Second thing: A pretty smart physician wrote that the three things you need to do to keep your heart healthy (and the rest of you as well) are:
l) Sleep 8 hours a night
2) Do cardio every day
3) Meditate -- not necessarily "Ohm" in the lotus position, but "quiet" time -- you're alone to reflect, to relax your brain, and your bod, to "reboot" and center yourself.
What do you guys think?
Sounds like you had splendid Valentines' Days -- excellent. Now, no more lollygagging around today, nope, it's off to work you go or off to volunteering or off to spend time with your parents -- And don't forget the THREE KEYS.

BIG BEAUTIFUL FRIDAY and it's my birthday party today (My birthday is really on Sunday, Valentine's Day) but my party is today. This is my second year of a birthday party on Valentine's Day and I can't tell you how wonderful it is not to be on Christmas any more. I mean, on Christmas, you're already loaded up on presents and cakes and so many other goodies, and who on earth can be excited to get birthday presents at the same time you get Christmas presents? Plus the givers how to go to all that work -- But you wait only two months until Valentine's and you're more than ready for more presents and a lovely huge Hummingbird Cake (yep, my favorite -- you can simply Google it and order it online) I selected Mexican for my lunch -- can you imagine, tacos, nachos, guacamole, all on the same table that will host a hummingbird cake? So please wave a couple of fingers toward Sausalito and smile, okay? Thank you --

11th of February, a bright-pink-sky Thursday -- well, at least for another minute or two.
Announcement: I'm now with Simon & Schuster so the 20th FBI,. INSIDIOUS, which would have been published by Putnam and been on the shelves in July (as you're used to) will be out in September with Simon & Schuster. So, only a two-month longer wait, which, let me tell you, is absolutely positively amazing. I am very very pleased. As soon as there is a cover, INSIDIOUS will be up for pre-order.
Now, the 4th BRIT in the FBI international thriller (beginning in Venice) will be out around the first of the year. I'll let you know exacty when it's been scheduled. The same with THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE -- cover, then up for pre-order from Simon & Schuster.

Feb. 10th -- into double digits already and isn't that scary? Pizza yesterday and spinach salad -- quite good, actually. The birthday girl we celebrated yesterday -- Deborah Coonts, author of the "Lucky" series. Her books are so funny you'll fall over laughing so hard. Photo to go up on my Facebook page.
Thanks for the photos of French tulips. One of you said they were "bred" with longer stems and so when the tulips fall over they REALLY fall far. The colors are gorgeous

Lovely Tuesday 9th of February -- When I think back on it I'd have to agree with the majority of you about Lady GaGa -- what an incredible voice. A couple of you said Peyton had indeed announced retirement. I haven't heard anything. But I sure hope he does -- he's really hobbled and all those injuries? If I were a part of his family, I would beg on my bruised knees to retire. .
Today is a writer friend's birthday party at an Italian restaurant, which should be lots of fun. And WORK, of course, always work.
Who knows about French tulips? Who can post a photo of French tulips?

The Super Bowl? At the end they shot of gold fireworks and shot huge quantities of gold confetti into the air. The game really wasn't very good, but who cares? The Broncos defense was incredible, and shut down the Panthers -- that in itself was amazing. and Von Miller won the MVP -- not Peyton, who didn't deserve it in any case, but now he can retire on top, get out and bask, like his boss John Elway.
This was the Super Bowl to go to. Why? It was the 50th as in 50, not Roman numerals no one understands any more.
HUGE, INCREDIBLE noise, not from the crowd, but from the speakers, at least 100 decibels (a week of that and you'd be seriously deaf). You really had to watch the game on the big TV screens, too hard to see what was really happening. But it was very cool to look at the players and think, now there's Peyton or there's Cam. And the hot dogs? Gotta love 'em, but only at the stadium. It was true of halftime -- there was a malfunction with the big screens, so it you didn't see much. They're for TV --
Yes, I was part of a wave, lots of fun, and no one went to the bathroom (that I could see) so, no holes, just a sea of color.
Lady GaGa has the most gorgeous voice, only wish she hadn't taken such liberties with the National Anthem.
It was 72 degrees!!!!! and Sunny!!!!! and when the sun went down, you put on a jacket. Ever cold? Nope.
All in all? It was super --

Gorgeous cool to warm Friday.
Did I tell all your guys that I'm going to the Super Bowl? This is the first time in a very long time. I'll be with my new publisher at Simon & Schuster (they're owned by CBS who sponsors the Super Bowl, and isn't that a handy thing?) And no, I did not go to S&S because I might be able to score tickets for the Super Bowl, but it sure is a lovely side benefit. San Francisco is stuffed with over a gazillion visitors, all the hotels packed, those in Sausalito as well. All the merchants are happy, there are so many events going on in San Francisco, EVEN THOUGH San Francisco refused to build a new stadium to replace the dilapidated Candlestick Park, so the 49ers moved to a new stadium in Santa Clara -- that's maybe an hour and forty-minute drive from the city. And who wants to stay in Silicon Valley? So, it's San Francisco that wins this one. And, naturally, it's a beautiful city, a destination city, so it's fortuitous Santa Clara is so close. Who do I want to win? This is so very tough: Peyton -- you sort of have to want him to win because if he has a single brain left in his head, he will retire after this game, win or lost. Then there's the Panthers with Cam Newton. They're done so splendidly this season -- he is such an incredible, freak athlete -- Okay, is it possible to cheer for both? Yep, that's what I've got to do.

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
