The one where I break my toe.

So I may or may not have broken one of my toes. The jury is still out, but judging by the gorgeous shades of blue, black, purple, and red that it's cycling through…I have definitely done some level of damage.
Here's what happened – and I fully own the fact that I was dumb.
There was a moth on the ceiling. I wanted to get the moth out of the house.
Instead of getting a chair or a step-stool I jumped into the air to try and grab it in a piece of toilet paper. Not once, but twice...

Bodies Revealed

David and I went to the Bodies Revealed exhibit in Sacramento today. It was an experience that I am having a hard time putting emotions around, so I'll take you through the events and we'll just see where it goes.
First, you won't be seeing any images in this post because photography wasn't allowed (more on this later). Second, you can visit the website for Bodies Revealed to learn more about how it was created/etc.
On Friday we were listening to NPR and heard an advertisement a...

That's Incredible.

I recently switched my mobile service from AT&T Wireless and the iPhone, to Verizon and the brand new HTC Incredible.

The iPhone is a product of Apple.
Why did I switch? I've been a customer of AT&T / Cingular / AT&T for over a decade. I've usually had great service and great phones. I've also had a wide variety of phones from the iPhone to the BlackJack II, to the Cingular 8125, to any number of flip and candybar style phones.
At one point I was getting a new phone every year – ...

I can hear you smiling.

Concept art of the Cheshire Cat as he appears in American McGee's Alice.
Do you have those moments when you're talking on the phone to someone and you're perhaps sharing a humorous story or a touching moment and you can almost hear them smiling?
Yeah, I don't either. You can't hear a smile.
Or can you?

The most famous audible grin is that of the Cheshire Cat of Lewis ...

Do you have a lot of tea?

If you have a lot of tea, you might be someone I'd like to know.
You might even call yourself a Person of Tea.
Background: when David first moved in, oh so many years ago, he was rummaging around through the kitchen cabinets and discovered boxes and boxes (and when I repeat that, I really do mean to imply that you need to be picturing a LOT of boxes) of tea. It was then that he knew that all would be right in the world, because I "had a lot of tea".
I was intrigued.
Pessimism.

I think that my dear friend Jay has summed me up in one sentence.
Heath – one of the reasons I love you is the fact that your glass isn't just half empty, but shattered on the floor with your feet cut and bleeding from stepping on the shards.
Aren't Monday's wonderful?

Indicator Awareness

How many of you knew that your motor vehicle is considered a dangerous weapon? That's right – just as dangerous as a gun, a knife, a baseball bat, or a calphalon frying pan.
HELPFUL TIP OF THE DAY: One of the easiest ways to minimize the possible danger of your vehicle, is to not drive it.
Okay, so that's actually not especially helpful, but it's true none the less.
But for those of you who insist on needing a car to take you to work, school, or the mall, here are four quick...

GM, I'm so proud of you.

I couldn't be more proud…this letter from General Motors just makes me…so proud.
It's like when your kid puts on their cap and gown and graduates from preschool, or when they put on their cap and gown and graduate from high school, or when they put on their cap and gown and graduate from college, or when they put on their suit and tie and make something of themselves in the corporate world, or when they file for bankruptcy because they buy a bunch of cars/houses and then put...

Personality Disorders

I am an obsessive-compulsive-avoidant-paranoid-schizoid. Well, I was yesterday. Today I'm only obsessive-compulsive-avoidant. Tomorrow I'm hoping only to be obsessive-compulsive, however, given my daily mantra of "I don't like people", it's looking like tomorrow will be an avoidance day. Thank goodness I'm telecommuting tomorrow.
Some time back I did a lot of reading about personality disorders. Specifically, obsessive-compulsive disorder. In fact, one of those insightful...
