Addicted to Mass

Effect 2 that is.
Can I just say…WOW I LOVE THIS GAME! Although I didn't play the first one (and actually never even heard of it somehow), I am completely and totally addicted to the second release in the potential trilogy of Mass Effect.
I am a big fan of RPG style gaming, but not a huge fan of "shooter" games. The things about RPG that really get me going are the ability to control multiple characters at the same time and have such a variety of demographics at my disposal...

Idol 2010 – Top 10 Recap
[image error]

* Image from FOX
I was hesitant to watch the show because I am not a fan of Usher, and an even bigger non-fan of R&B. I just don't get most of the songs, don't get the lyrics, don't get the beat, I just don't get it.
So instead I decided to pretend this wasn't R&B week and just focus on my favourites. Let's start with the show opener, Siobhan.
I didn't think it was as bad as everyone else seemed to think. I loved her look, as I always do, and yes there were a couple pitchy...

Ricky Martin. Gay.

Surprise, surprise, Ricky Martin came out. Yeah – not a surprise at all. Yet another celebrity who has absolutely nothing to lose by doing so has come out. Kudos for him.
Once again I have two completely diverging opinions on this one…
1. Good for him. If he felt like the time was right to let it be known, great. It's a personal decision and glad that he finally reached that level of comfort. Great that he'll be able to be honest with his kids once they are old enough to...

Idol 2010 "Top" 10

I am really struggling with using the term "Top 10″ at this point in Idol. It boggles my mind that we even got to this point with any level of satisfaction. That's what part of me thinks. The other part of me thinks that since there are only three singers I care about, the fact that seven others get to tag along on the tour just means that a few more people will be paying taxes and spending discretionary money to bolster our economy. So it can't be ALL bad.
Speaking of the...

Speaking in Tongues

I woke up the other morning and started speaking in tongues. Well, speaking is probably too strong of a word, I spoke a sentence in tongues. After that I reverted back to my primary language (which you would think would be English – and you would be right).
I really don't know what came over me – it might have been the bottle of wine from the night before…but I woke up and took a huge stretch and suddenly began vocalizing. Here's what I said…
Barba dah, zhahn mwahr.
I seriously m...

Crime 360: True-Crime TV

I love me some good murder mystery – Agatha Christie is of course right at the top of the list for creating a good thriller, but why have fiction when you can have reality?
There's been such a flood of true crime drama on TV that it's hard to pick a good one – so I have come up with a way for you to pick…

Pick the one that our friend Bob is in! That's right, we actually KNOW someone who is on the A&E show Crime 360. Robert Zerby, Rochester, NY's Chief Medical...

Idol 2010 – Week 4

We've moved to the big stage people! That means it's finally down to the Top 12. Seems like we got rid of a lot of people very quickly over the last two weeks…but seriously…some of those folks should never have been in the Top 24 to begin with.
The judging this season isn't working for me. I AM glad that Randy has tried to minimize the "dawg" component of his reviews, but there's still too much ending a sentence with a surprised "what?!" Couldn't he just say "you surprised me" ...

I had a movement

You knew it was going to happen soon, right? I mean who is talking about digital heath these days? It's all about buckmasterflash in 2010! New design, new form and feel, new location, and obliterated page ranking on Google because of the switch.
Yes folks, it's out with the old and in with the new here at buckmasterflash (capitalized or not capitalized it's all the same thing…unless it's not, in which case it is). Oh, and we put our periods OUTSIDE the parenthesis like...

What's in your Genes?

I keep getting accused of trying to get into people's genes, so I thought I would open the kimono, so to speak, and show you what's in mine.
Genes people, not jeans. Have some decency won't you?
My employer recently started a new discount program for employees to get confidential genetic testing. I did a little research and thought, why not give this a try and see what I can discover?
The program offers us the choice between two vendors, and I chose 23andMe – they offer an...

American Idol 2010 – Week 3

I'd like to start out with the guys this week, only because Lee Dewyze sang Fireflies. If you don't recall – this was my song recommendation that I talked about only a few days ago.
I think Lee did a satisfactory job with the song, and obviously enough to get him into the Top 12 – but I seriously think that his look was enough to get him in there even if he'd done a worse job. But now that I've talked about Lee, let's carry on with the rest of the contestants.
Ladies:
The only t...
