Are you a journalist? You write very well.

That was the comment I got earlier today from "viagra india".
I was pretty happy to have a comment in the first place, but even more excited that FINALLY someone notices my writing skills. Being an independent author isn't all it's cut out to be people.
It's hard work. It's tough. The rejection from myself is almost unbearable at times. There are days when I wonder, "can I really go on another day…another moment…another second even in this bath of torture that I have drawn for myself?"
Now, if t...

Where is everyone?

No comments in 14 days. Two weeks without nourishing feedback or response.
It leaves me feeling melancholy, and I think it's best described in a picture.

Evolution

New on Amazon Kindle (and Kindle for PC/iPhone/Blackberry), and available for only 0.99c for a limited time – Homo sarcasmus, On the Origin of the Species.
Here I present the forward from this brand new book from yours truly…
I was born on September 29, 1973, and my date of death is as of yet undetermined (hopefully). My father was a computing centre director for a major university (major = impressive) and my mother taught piano, English lessons, and the value of a good smirk.
When I was young...

Tickle Cock gets its name back
Residents of Castleford in Yorkshire have won a battle for a landmark bridge to be given back its original name of – after the local council prudishly changed it to 'Tittle Cott'.
Commence giggling. (and if you want to take a look at the bridge, click here)
But in all seriousness – I was shocked to see that the Brits had suddenly become so prudish. I mean, they originated some of the delightful location names that tickle our fancies. And how exactly is "Tittle Cott" better or less p...

Seriously msnbc.com – this hurts

Cowpiece

Last night I dreamed of Cowpiece - an "Elephant Man" kind of creature. The distinguishing factor was that he had a mother more like Roseanne than Cher. And believe me – your mother can make quite a difference.
It was my job to expose him for the monster that he was. I say was, because what I found when I finally found him was much more than anyone could have ever…dreamed.
[image error]My first priority was to find this man known only as Cowpiece. He was hidden away from the world by his big, bad mother...

Happy Birthday Rowan & Lasher

My boys turned 11 yesterday (Feb 15, 2010). I can't believe that I've had them for so long…
Rowan and Lasher are brothers, and I rescued them from the SPCA way back in 1999. Growing up I was always allergic to cats and couldn't be around them without sneezing/coughing/etc. But I began noticing that I wasn't having a problem being around Rachelle's cat Sweetness…so I thought maybe I have grown out of that allergy and I can finally get a cat.
I went to the SPCA and saw the two boys in their...

Hey Muffin Man!

Today's theme is muffins.
More specifically, when they are going to put them out in the cafe.
I had an early morning meeting today and I wavered on whether I would just work from home and call in, or whether I would get up before dawn cracked and get into the office for it. I chose the latter for the sole reason that I went to bed at 9pm last night and simply couldn't stay awake after 5:00am this morning.
I showered, drove into the office, and made my way to the cafe to get my coffee...
