DIEGO GARCIA'S NEW ALBUM PARADISE OUT TODAY

DIEGO GARCIA'S NEW ALBUM PARADISE OUT TODAY ON CONCORD RECORDS
Video for first single "Sunnier Days" premieres on THE FADER today Garcia to perform on WXPN "Free at Noon" on Oct 11th, KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" November 4th and "Connections with Nic Harcourt" on KCSN November 5th

Los Angeles, CA - October 8th, 2013 - Singer/songwriter Diego Garcia released his solo album "Paradise" today on Concord Records. The album, produced by Jorge Elbrecht, is Garcia's sophomore solo release following 2011's critically acclaimed solo debut "Laura." "Paradise" recently debuted in its entirety at FILTER Magazinelast week and now can be heard HERE.
"Paradise" is a cohesive body of work paying homage to both Diego Garcia's Latin roots and indie rock background, showcasing the evolution of his songwriting and a fusion of artistic influences old and new.   The album features 11 elegantly written tracks - each earning praise in their own right. "Sunnier Days" was premiered by Entertainment Weekly and selected by KCRW as one of Three Songs You Should Be Listening To Right Now, calling it, "pure positivity."  New York's WFUV also embraced the song saying: "Diego Garcia's "Sunnier Days" is exactly like it sounds: a playful, summery tune...". The playfully artistic video for "Sunnier Days" premiered today on THE FADER. Directed by Matt Wignall, the video was shot in the final days of summer in New York City and Montauk in the Hamptons, Long Island.
Here's what critics are saying about the album:
"His sophomore release as a solo artist is a captivating recording recalling romantic ballads of the 70's with a twist, as they are sung in English." - KCRW
"[Sunnier Days is] the light-peeking-through-everything lead single." THE FADER
"Garcia's second full-length as a solo artist zips through the romantic narrative with sweet melodies that throw back to a '60s vibe.  Smooth vocals back by poetic lyrics also touch on his Latin roots with the catchy "Donde Estas" (where are you), giving way to another stellar release." - BILLBOARD
"'Paradise' [is] 34 minutes of sun-drenched strains of Spanish guitar and soaring strings." - VOGUE
"All-around gorgeous" - SCENE MAGAZINE (THE NEW YORK OBSERVER)
"Garcia's clear knowledge of pop-writing etiquette seductively comes across polished and matured." -FILTER
"It's a gem." - A.V. CLUB
Diego will perform for Philadelphia's WXPN radio on October 11th for a Free At Noon concert simulcast live on 88.5FM and WXPN.ORG.  The concert and interview will be taped for broadcast on NPR's syndicated national radio program World Café. On the west coast, Diego will perform on KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" November 4th and "Connections with Nic Harcourt" on KCSN on November 5th.

T. Hardy Morris' Transistor Six Music Video for "Audition Tapes"

T. HARDY MORRIS AND TRANSISTOR SIX PREMIER MUSIC FILM FOR "AUDITION TAPES"
DEBUT SOLO ALBUM AUDITION TAPES OUT NOWON DANGERBIRD RECORDS
UPCOMING FALL FALL TOUR DATES INCLUDING SHOWS WITH JASON ISBELL, TELEVISION, DRIVE BY TRUCKERS, WILLY MASON,AND PATTERSON HOOD Photo Credit: Cory Llewellyn / Transistor SixT. Hardy Morris and the Austin, TX based independent film, art, and music collective Transistor Six, are excited to present the incredibly sentimental and beautifully shot music Film for "Audition Tapes", the title track from Morris' critically acclaimed debut solo album, out now on Dangerbird Records. This fall Morris will continue to tour in support of the album, playing shows with Jason Isbell, Television, Drive By Truckers, and along side Willy Mason and more at the Communion Records Nashville showcase. Upcoming tour dates below.
Watch the Super 8 music film for "Audition Tapes"http://transistorsix.com/thardymorris  T. Hardy Morris T. Hardy Morris "AuditionTapes"Morris describes the song "Audition Tapes" as being "about that window of time when you're not a kid anymore but you're far from grown up either. You don't want to be at home necessarily, but you can't drive yet so you're stuck in this little bubble of making the most with your given surroundings; your neighborhood, your friends. I think that time in life can shape a lot about who we are for the rest of our lives; how we react to social situations and scenarios at this age. If you're fearless at 14 you'll likely be fearless as life continues. If you're scared of life at 14, well, good luck I guess."
That vibe is captured perfectly in the Transistor Six film for the song. "We wanted the video to be pretty literal," says Morris, "so we just recruited the boys from the local Austin band Residual Kid to essentially be themselves. We went to a skate park and a few other places around Austin that fit the theme. They were good sports about the video and are pretty fearless. I think they'll be fine."
"When we listened to 'Audition Tapes' it was pretty immediate that we needed to tell this story on film and bring a nostalgic visual to it," says Cory Llewellyn co-founder of Transistor Six, "Using vintage Super 8 cameras we wanted to have the story told in a home movie kind of way invoking memories versus being too literal. That nostalgic feeling also lends itself in the Lomography photos we shot with Hardy."
Released this summer on Dangerbird Records, Audition Tapes is the solo debut for T. Hardy Morris, the Athens, GA based musician and lead singer of Dead Confederate. "It will break your heart in a very sincere, wildly passionate way," wrote Paste of the album, while Stereogumpraised the "calming beauty" found on the record. American Songwriter adds that "Morris connects with the mythical ideal of Cosmic American music, attaining an ethereal sound that stands outside of time, stands beyond trends."

 About the record:

Seattle’s La Luz recorded their debut EP, Damp Face, in a small trailer on a hot August day. But barring the inevitable “no-AC-in-the-van” summer tour calamity, La Luz runs cool. Their brand of coolness isn’t about distance or affect; it’s a mood, and—sue me, but I’m about to totally rip off Zelda Fitzgerald: Something about this music vibrates to the dusky, dreamy smell of dying moons and shadows. So yeah, that kind of cool.

Still, La Luz’s live shows, more than most these days, are about connection. It’s evident that the four ridiculously talented ladies on stage are not only playing music with each other, but for each other. And they engage their audience as well. Like a proper punk band—which they are not— they give you shit for not dancing. They convey a gritty self-possession, a sense that they’ve been there and back again. And, like the expert, but seemingly effortless, surf licks and meandering bass lines that rise and fall throughout their songs, their mocking is playful and dreamy and disarming enough to get most of the crowd (and sometimes the keyboard player) dancing down the center line of a soul train.

But as any half-assed Freudian will tell you, there can be no meaningful connection without first weathering some dark and lonely times. Here comes the chilly part: What makes La Luz stand out—and stand out fast—the band has only been playing together for a year and people took notice almost immediately—is that this is a band that embodies that most elusive slant on the human condition: longing, and the fleeting relief that tags alongside deep desire.

After a successful year since branching out on her own, UK starlet Kate Nash released her third full-length GIRL TALK, completed 3 sold-out North American tours, launched the ‘ Protect A Girl ’ initiative, starred in 3 full-length movies and plans on returning to the U.S with another round of tour dates this winter.

‘Fri-end ?’ features hooks and a charm so undeniably Kate Nash, accompanied with an infectious LA surf rock jangle and 60s girl group sound, all inspired during her time in the Californian sun when recording GIRL TALKwith famed producer Tom Biller. The single, which was the first track she wrote for the album, pays homage to all things Tarantino and is defiantly punk in its pop approach. “It’s about rubbish friends,” says Kate, “when someone cares more about material things than they do about you.”
.
Outspoken on many issues, Kate is also releasing the moving and edgy ‘ Pink Limo Ride ’ as a bonus track on the single. The track recently garnered a lot of praise and attention in the media for its clear anti-bullying message, inspired after her best friend was severely beaten up in London.  Kate also urges her supporters to check out the Sophie Lancaster Foundation for all the charity’s efforts to stamp out prejudice towards others.

Be sure to catch Kate on her upcoming North American headlining tour with former Vivian Girl  La Sera  as support. The tour kicks off next month in Milwaukee’s Turner Hall and winds up in Los Angeles at the legendary Fonda Theater.

GIRL TALK ’ LP is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora
and in all good record stores worldwide.

Turin Brakes Releases New Album "We Were Here" Today

Turin Brakes Releases New Album We Were Here via Cooking Vinyl/Red River Entertainment Today

Listen + Share Title Track “We Were Here”

From the majestic opening swoop and swirl of “Time and Money” through to the elegiac campfire slide of closer “Goodbye”, the new album We Were Here finds the members ofTurin Brakes - Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian along with long time collaboratorsRob Allum and Eddie Myer - at their most assertive and consistent, with a hypnotic collection of songs that nods to classic releases of the ’70s and also to the triggers of existential dread that sit right at the heart of the information age.

Recorded over two weeks of eighteen hour days in legendary Welsh studio Rockfield,We Were Here (to be released October 8th via Cooking Vinyl/Red River Entertainment) gorgeously chimes and echoes with the pastoral psychedelia of Pink Floyd, the sunset soul of Laurel Canyon, the blues of the Mississippi Delta and the band’s own six-stringed past. Listen and share the tender title track HERE.

Formed in Balham, South West London, in 1999 by childhood friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, Turin Brakes signed to French label Source in 2000 and released their Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album The Optimist (2001). Their second albumEther Song (2003) entered the UK album charts at number 4 and spawned the Top 5 single Pain Killer (Summer Rain). The Top 10 album JackinABox was released in 2005 and followed by Dark On Fire (2007). The band signed to Cooking Vinyl in 2009 and released Outbursts (2010).

Deap Vally's Debut Album Sistrionix Out Now

Deap Vally's Debut Album Sistrionix Out Now

Los Angeles-based rock-duo Deap Vally release their debut album, Sistrionix, today in North America via Cherrytree/Communion/Interscope/Island. The album has been hailed by critics withSPIN making Sistrionix their album of the week last week, saying that it"stomps and swaggers like vintage bayou boogie, with Lindsay Troy's thick-as-a-brick blues riffs and Julie Edwards' monstrous cavewoman beats proving that the dynamic duo can hold up to the hype." All Music Guide wrote in a 4-star review that the band "...sound like the White Stripes or the Black Keys made over from the female side of things, with a sound that hits the same crunchy, thumping, swampy groove and looseness." Premiere Guitar said that "the guitar world could use more angry fuzz queens like [Lindsay] Troy."

Anna von Hausswolff hails from Sweden, the land of midnight sun, black metal and Ingmar Bergman. Ceremony is primarily inspired by the death of her grandfather three years ago, and is informed by Anna’s childhood, when she and her sister sang in choirs and spent much time around their father, the renowned avant-garde artist and composer Carl Michael von Hausswolff, as he worked with artists ranging from William S. Burroughs to Union Carbide Productions. To record this tribute to her grandfather, Anna, a unique and powerful singer, accompanies herself on that most sacred of instruments, the church organ. The result is a work that combines intimacy and majestic grandeur.
Among the music press that has hailed Ceremony, von Hausswolff’s first U.S. release, is NPR Music’s Bob Boilen, who wrote, “When you put on Anna von Hausswolf's second album, Ceremony, everything around you changes. That ability to be instantly distinct is the mark of any great record; it's a vibe, and here that vibe is dramatic and stark and, as Ceremony progresses, surprising…von Hausswolff's voice possesses the power to soar with those mighty pipes and still hold tight to delicate, personal emotions.”The Village Voice called Ceremony a “beautiful, elegiac song cycle.” Reviewing her only U.S. live show to date, in July at Brooklyn’s Glasslands, Brooklyn Vegan noted von Hausswolf's “seriously spine-tingling pipes.”
Growing up in Gothenburg’s bohemian neighborhood of Haga, Anna and her younger sister, Maria, were surrounded by art and music. They lived with their mother in a small apartment nestled amongst concert halls, record shops, galleries and cafés. Music was everywhere, and none was more impactful than that of the girls’ own father. The senior von Hausswolff’s sound experiments and art installations opened his young daughters’ minds to a world of inspiration, and the headquarters of the Haga-based Radium label he founded in 1986, the same year Anna was born, became a playground and hideout for the sisters, a smoke-filled cabinet of wonders where a vast array of iconic artists took up residence amongst the girls’ schoolbooks and playthings.
After high school, Anna began to pursue a lifelong interest in architecture at Chalmers University before moving to Copenhagen to continue her studies of art and architecture at the Royal Academy of Art, where she is currently enrolled. And yet, as her studies continued, her musical passion only deepened, and in 2009 Anna released her first EP on Kning Disk, Track of Time, followed in 2010 by her debut full-length, Singing from the Grave. The album received rave reviews across Sweden and took various awards, and Anna toured across Scandinavia numerous times. Since Kning Disk released Ceremony in Sweden last summer, the album has received near-universal critical praise and was nominated for two Swedish Grammys and a Nordic Prize.
For the U.S. dates, von Hausswolff will be joined by her Swedish band: Filip Leyman (keyboards), Karl Vento (guitar) and Ulrik Ording (drums).
The North American release by Other Music Recording Co. (distributed by Fat Possum) on July 9 followed an acclaimed U.K. / E.U. release by City Slang on June 17.
