London duo Cloud Boat (signed to R&S Records) recently covered Aventine album single“The Curse,” transforming it from Agnes’ original emotive, orchestral selection to a bewitching, echoing electronic cut. Hampson, formerly of seminal space-rock band Loop, adds his unique, surreal touch to the original oeuvre.
With a debut album compared by critics to the likes of PJ Harvey, Joanna Newsom, and Roy Orbison, Agnes’ sparse chamber folk has been lauded worldwide. Originally from Copenhagen, Agnes has lived in Berlin since 2006, where Aventine was recorded at her Chalk Wood Studios. The album was written, arranged, and produced by Agnes, who provides piano and vocals.

(Asheville, NC – Oct. 15, 2013) Moogfest is a celebration that honors the creativity and inventiveness of Moog Music founder Dr. Robert Moog, and pays tribute to the legacy of the analog synthesizer.
For over 50 years, Bob Moog and his company Moog Music have pioneered technology that has advanced popular music and culture, and ushered in a new era of artistic expression through sound and experimentation. It was in this very spirit that Moogfest was born. Now featuring an experimental lineup of daytime conference programming, curated by a soon-to-be-announced lineup of cultural, artistic and technological luminaries, and punctuated by nightly landmark music performances, Moogfest is a five-day event dedicated to the convergence of technology, art and music.
Since its inception in 2004, Moogfest has been a magnet for artists, engineers, and enthusiasts of Bob Moog and his legacy to meet, share, create and collaborate. When Moog brought the festival home to Asheville in 2008 it adopted a three-day multi-stage format to include contemporary bands and producers that exemplify the innovative spirit of Moog and electronic music. This year, Moogfest is further expanding its program to include a five-day innovation conference featuring leading futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, artists, and musicians from various fields that will expand the mind as well as entertain.

Moogfest is a five-day music festival and conference dedicated to exploring technology, art and music, honoring the creativity and inventiveness of Bob Moog and paying tribute to the legacy of the analog synthesizer through a platform of events both day and night.
Moogfest welcomes futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, artists, scientists, musicians and Moog devotees to participate in a conversation that celebrates new technology and creative expression.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Moogfest is partnering with the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) to produce a first of its kindTech Expo and interactive Job Fair. This unique event will host innovative tech companies with a presence or headquarters in the state of NC. On April 26 and 27, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and experience the companies that are creating the tools and technology of tomorrow. Attendees will have the ability to network with these companies and discover employment opportunities. Companies will have the opportunity to meet like-minded businesses and forge new bonds, while exhibiting the technology that has made Asheville an innovation incubator.

The event will attract 50,000 people (10,000 per day) from a cross-section of creative professionals, hackers, influencers and trendsetters, circuit benders, designers, programmers, audio engineers, new media artists, coders, and bedroom producers, seeking to be inspired in their work.

, which hits theaters on November 1st. The title track "Peace Sword (Open Your Heart)" was written exclusively for the film, while the remaining five tracks were all inspired by the book upon which the film is based as well as the motion picture itself.
Peace Sword will be released by all digital retailers on October 29th, to coincide with the film's November 1st release and features exclusive artwork. Click here to view. The CD and limited-edition 12" vinyl release will follow on Black Friday/Record Store Day , which falls on November 29th. The beautiful vinyl package features the same audio content as the CD, but features different artwork (pictured above). It will be pressed on black, standard-weight vinyl with a dazzling "LIPSian" gatefold sleeve.
THE LIPS will celebrate Halloween this year with a new "Halloween Blood Bath" hoodie, which is now available for pre-order and will become available on October 29th to coincide with the band's Halloween shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where it will be sold. The hoodie, which is a black cotton zip-up with "The Flaming Lips" printed on the front and the "Halloween Blood Bath" graphic printed on the back, is available only during October at The Flaming Lips online store here .

Hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed Into The Wild EP and hitting the iTunes Top 10with all four of his EPs, London-based Lewis Watson has announced a new release, this time joined by friends. Produced by Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Jake Bugg) and Richard Wilkinson (Lianne La Havas, Adele), the new EP is titled Some Songs With Some Friends and will be released November 26 via Warner Bros. Records.
Some Songs With Some Friends features a re-recorded, re-mastered version of single “Even If”. The rest of the EP sees Lewis interpreting some of his favorite songs with the help of some like-minded friends: Gabrielle Aplin joins him for their own take on theColbie Caillat and Jason Reeves duet “Droplets”; recent touring partner KimberlyAnne contributes to a fresh version of Everything Everything’s ”The Peaks”; and Irishduo Hudson Taylor join Lewis on ‘Colorblind’, originally by Counting Crows.

Bavarian experimental pop-trio Aloa Input have released a new video for their song 'Someday Morning,' taken from their forthcoming debut,

, due November 5th on Morr Music. The band teamed up with filmmaker Bryn Chainey to create this beautiful and poignant pseudo-documentary, where we follow a night in the life of university student Danja M, who might be the world's first ever support worker for sleepwalkers.
Calling themselves Aloa Input is the band's collective motto - Cico Beck (aka Joasihno), Marcus Grassl (formerly part of Missent To Denmark) and Florian Kreier (aka Angela Aux) obviously love all kinds of input; the further apart the sources and inspirations, the better. Always on point when it comes to picking the best bits and pieces of so much input, Anysome essentially resembles a huge map that covers most of the musical worlds and sonic landscapes we know.
Drawing from a long list of influences (e.g. Animal Collective, Eno, Beck, Beatles, Morricone, Why?, Can, The Notwist), Aloa Input are well aware of the album's world-spanning approach, mentioning "guitars from Cape Town to Portland, beats from Berlin to Chicago, and vocals from NYC to Düsseldorf." And yet there's more to Anysome: the exotic detours, the band's willingness to experiment and to go that extra mile for a good hook, the hypnotic singing and electrified horizons, all neatly placed on top of minimalist basslines. Diversity or switching gears, for them, is never an invitation to let chaos reign supreme - instead it's just more fuel for a mind-blowing ride, especially when it has a new soundtrack every four minutes, so it's all good as long as there's enough input to have fun with.

Pat Grossi, better known as Active Child, is proud to announce Rapor EP, his first release since the critically acclaimed full length debut, You Are All I See. Set for release on October 22nd via Vagrant Records, the six-song EP is a culmination of Grossi's heartfelt journey around the world in support of You Are All I See and an introspective year spent writing at his home studio, Rapor, from which he derived the title and inspiration for his forthcoming release. The EP is now available to stream on Active Child's new Pro Partner profile on SoundCloud "The house is made up almost entirely of glass, designed by the architects Buff and Hensman as their personal refuge from the chaos of LA. Inside the studio you can feel the sun pouring through the skylights and the mountains wrapping around on all sides. They named it Rapor, Ra meaning sun and Por meaning house. Sometimes i would spend weeks alone at home writing without leaving or having visitors. It was during those periods that i realized how important that space was to me creatively. I relied on that solitude."
Emerging from Rapor with an inspired and incredibly personal collection of songs, Grossi moved to Heavy Duty Studios in Burbank, CA over the summer of 2013 to work with producers Kevin Seaton (Major Lazer, Snoop Lion) & Nick Ruth (Mikky Ekko, Night Terrors of 1979) to complete his vision, which includes vocal features from contemporaries and friends Mikky Ekko and Ellie Goulding.
Ekko appears on "Subtle" the EP's first single, which premiered yesterday and is described by Pitchfork as "leaning hard on aggressive 1980s synth-pop textures, with vocalist on hand to deliver some full-throated forcefulness contrasting with Grossi's always-floating falsetto." Gouldingwho covered Grossi's stand out "Hanging On" on her current release Halcyon is featured on the EP's fourth track "Silhouette" which showcases the two artists soaring falsettos in duet.
Grossi will tour this fall with support from JMSN and then return home to put the finishing touches on his follow up album, due out mid 2014.
