Crystal Antlers Premiere Track "Licorice Pizza" on The Fader

Crystal AntlersPhoto Credit: Nick Walker
Crystal Antlers are excited to premiere their new track "Licorice Pizza" via The Fader today. This is the second single off the band's upcoming debut Nothing is Real (out October 15 on Innovative Leisure), which The Fader raves "is shot through with enough stumbling-over-itself energy and voice-cracking screams to make you feel like you're listening in on some raw, undiscovered punk band. It's as young-at-heart as its title ... but it's got the kind of catchy simplicity that in reality can be very difficult to achieve."

Crystal Antlers will embark on an extensive US headlining tour this fall, after a short run of dates supporting Gogol Bordello in their hometown of Los Angeles. Full tour dates below.

TOURING U.S. WITH ANTWON THIS FALL
Vancouver’s melodic punkers, White Lung, shared new track “Blow It South” with Pitchfork who’ve hailed it as “a relentless aural beating laced with loopy metal riffs...”.  The song comes as the A-side to their upcoming 7” set for release on November 5th via Deranged Records (USA/CA) and Sex Beat Records (UK).  After a vigorous year of touring, their TV debut with Carson Daly and knocking out Bonnaroo, Pitchfork, NXNE, SXSW, plus other fests, White Lung wrap up 2013 in the studio and a tour down to Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest with San Jose’s eclectic rapper/musician Antwon. Last year Rolling Stone named their second LP, Sorry (Deranged Records), as one of their “Top 10 Albums Of The Year” of 2012 while receiving critical acclaim from SPIN, Pitchfork, Bitch, etc.  Listen to Sorry HERE

Magik Markers Set A "Bonfire," New Song

MAGIK MARKERS SET A "BONFIRE," NEW SONG OFF SURRENDER TO THE FANTASY, OUT 11/19 ON DRAG CITY
"The sprawling punk band Magik Markers' upcoming  Surrender To The Fantasy  does not disappoint. 'Bonfire' is the album's first single and finds guitarist Elisa Ambrogio, drummer Pete Nolan and new bassist John Shaw at their most explosive." - Otis Hart,  NPR Music's Fall Music Preview
Explosive is right, kids. "Bonfire" is the first glimpse into Magik Markersfirst record in four years, Surrender To The Fantasy, out 11/19 on Drag City. Beginning with a shamanistic chant, "Bonfire" evolves to full stomp as Elisa Ambrogio's unhinged vocals jump to the front of our consciousness. It's a wild and fiery ride, friends. SURRENDER.

Widowspeak are back today with another cut off their forthcoming EP The Swamps (out 10/29) with the single "Calico". Following in the footsteps of first single "", the track is dripping in melodic optimism and romantic nostalgia. Jangling guitars are seeped in folky haze creating a sweeping, warming atmosphere that will hypnotize.

"pushing their sound even further in a warm, lush direction, with a sliding melody that sounds almost tropical in construct."

"pastel-hued, heavily drugged shoegaze-folk. It’s truly, sweepingly lovely"

"Widowspeak has always flirted with shoegaze-folk, but now it sounds like they’re going steady"
"hazy and heavy-hearted, yet charming and romantic tone"

Stream Parquet Courts' New EP

STREAM PARQUET COURTS' NEW EP, "TALLY ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU BROKE", OUT 10/8 ON WHAT'S YOUR RUPTURE?
RADIO STATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY GIVE LISTENERS AN EARLY TASTE THIS WEEK
RECORD RELEASE SHOW AT MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG TONIGHT!

Parquet Courts' new EP, "Tally All The Things That You Broke," is officially out next week (Oct 8th on What's Your Rupture?). As in, for sale in record stores, available for purchase online, gettin' hocked at pawnshops, being pirated online, gettin' added to mixtapes, and being played for newborn babies, ya know, to improve their ever-developing brains. Well, far be it from us to allow all the consumers to enter the marketplace uninformed. That's why we're sharing the entire new EP with audiences early. I KNOW, I KNOW, you're thinking "are you INSANE? Just GIVING it away like that? It's NEVER been done BEFORE." First off, stop inflecting your sentences with all caps, it's annoying and inappropriate. Also, we're pretty sure a few folks have done this in the past. Well, maybe not exactly like this. Today, the EP is streaming in full on www.parkayquarts.com, but earlier this week, five marquee American radio stations premiered the record on the airwaves. KEXP in Seattle,WXRT in Chicago, CD102.5 in Columbus, KVRX in Austin, and WXPN in Philadelphia all played the entire EP on Monday and Tuesday. Now we're gettin' into uncharted waters, so permission to freak out granted.
STREAM "TALLY ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU BROKE" - http://parkayquarts.com
Also, don't forget that any record is, or at least should be, a righteous representation of the live band, and Parquet Courts pride themselves as a hard working one, first and foremost. So with that said, Parquet Courts' record release show is TONIGHT at Music Hall of Williamsburg. This is their biggest hometown headlining date, and they're pulling out all the non-existent stops for this one. Be prepared to hear stuff off their instant classicLight Up Gold, tracks off the new EP, and even new songs slated for the next LP. Stops, OUT; leaving everything on the field; IN. After that, the boys take off for two weekends at the Austin City Limits festival before waving "ta-ta" to the US for a month and crossing the ocean for more dates abroad. So for us Americans, the time is now; the show is tonight; the band is Parquet Courts.
PARQUET COURTS DATES:Wed. Oct. 2 - Brooklyn, NY @ Music Hall of Williamsburg w/ The Beets, The Yuppies, Future PunxSat. Oct. 5 - Austin, TX @ Austin City Limits Festival (Barton Springs Stage)Sat. Oct. 12 - Austin, TX @ Austin City Limits Festival (Barton Springs Stage)

Lauded Australian outfit Alpine will embark on a U.S. headlining run throughout October, in addition to select support dates for Empire of the Sun. Since forming, Alpine have toured extensively with the likes of Grouplove, Kimbra, The Naked And Famous and Matt Corby. Additionally, the band performed at SXSW 2013 and has appeared at various festivals worldwide including Splendour In The Grass, Southbound and Falls Festival. See full tour routing below.  A Is For Alpine , the debut album from the band is available now on Votiv. The new release, which was chosen as iTunes’ Australian Alternative Album of the Year, has received wide critical praise from The New York Times and Rolling Stone with Pitchfork calling it an “unforgettably light and charismatic gem.” The band recently performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (Watch here: http://youtu.be/QRZez3vfgRg) as well as a NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert (Watch here: http://n.pr/170BUsF). Alpine is Phoebe Baker and Lou James (dual vocals), Christian O’Brien (guitar), Ryan Lamb (bass), Tim Royall (keys) and Phil Tucker (drums). The new album was recorded in Melbourne with producer Dann Humewho helped the band experiment with sounds and textures. Of the record Lamb notes, “We wanted to represent the different sides of our music, so there’s some sad moments, some dancey moments, some rocking out and lots of harmonies.” No strangers to the benefits of shared ideas and the collaborative process, Alpine’s own methods for song writing reflect the strong and respectful working relationship they had with Hume. Baker describes the new album as the band’s “innocent and not so innocent explorations through our twenty-something emotions.”   A IS FOR ALPINE TRACKLIST1. Lovers 12. Lovers 23. Hands4. Villages5.
