'UK Punk's dark lord." David Fricke/Rolling Stone Hugh Cornwell’s new studio album, TOTEM AND TABOO, is out now in the US via Red River Entertainmentand through Red/SONY Distribution. Recorded at Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, the album was engineered and mixed by the legendary Steve Albini. Hugh recently released a new video for the track 'God Is A Woman' which caused quite a stir with it's content. Hugh Cornwell is one of the UK's finest songwriting talents and accomplished live performers. The original guitarist, singer and main songwriter in the British rock band The Stranglers, he’s enjoyed massive UK and European success with 10 hit albums and 21 Top Forty singles, etching himself into the UK and Europe's musical psyche with classic songs, including Peaches, No More Heroes, Golden Brown, Always the Sun,Grip, Nice N Sleazy, Duchess and Skin Deep. Cornwell’s last studio album, the critically acclaimedHooverdam, produced and mixed by Grammy award winner Liam Watson, is available as a free download from his official website - www.hughcornwell.com.

Tastemakers around the US have been buzzing ever since Gossling’s new single, “Never Expire” hit the web in late August, climbing to #7 on Hype Machine at the same time it hit the Top 20 on Australia’s Triple J.
Plucked harps, guitar climaxes, and retro, European disco. Such is the amalgam of sounds that form the musicianship of Melbourne’s Gossling, also known as singer/songwriter Helen Croome. With sonic inspiration found in records by artists such as Goldfrapp and Metronomy, combined with Gossling’s heartfelt, diverse, and seriously enchanting talent and dreamy, startling voice, her upcoming full-length, Harvest Of Gold (to be released in the US in early 2014), insures that another great Australian talent is about to sweep the globe.
“Hopefully with this album the people who’ve only heard my singles will realize the extent of my songwriting,” says Helen, who signed to Dew Process in September 2012 following three acclaimed independent EPs: 2009 debut If You Can’t Whistle, 2010’s Until Then, and 2012’s Intentional Living. “I want listeners to stick with me as an artist, and enjoy the progression I’ve made.”
Gossling has already caught quite a few ears in the US via TV placements in American Horror Story, Gossip Girl, Nashville and Graceland.

Fade Away, out October 22, the first release on Bethany Cosentino's Jewel City label, in partnership with Kobalt Label Services, sets Best Coast off on a new burst of independence and creativity, which includes another album they'll start recording in November for release this Spring. And it reflects the increased confidence that Cosentino and her bandmate, multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno, gained in the three surreal years since their breakthrough album Crazy For You.
Celebrated as darlings of the lo-fi, it lead to defiantly hi-fi events like performing with childhood idols Green Day and No Doubt, dueting with Kendrick Lamar and Iggy Pop, having Drew Barrymore direct their Chloe Moretz-starring video, creating a new collection for Urban Outfitters, and working with the widescreen producer Jon Brion, who's overseen masterpieces by Kanye West and Fiona Apple, on an album that made Rolling Stone and Spin Magazine's Top Albums of 2012. Producing and mixing this time alongside Bethany and Bobb was Wally Gagel, who's recorded over twenty iTunes Originals sessions, including one with Best Coast back in 2011.
This new freedom led Cosentino to a faster-paced, energetic set of songs inspired by Mazzy Star, Patsy Cline, My Bloody Valentine and Ambien. "Everything in this band has worked out so organically that sometimes it scares me that something bad is going to happen. I don't even understand why this is happening. I made some songs, I put them up on the internet, and here I am now. I feel like the luckiest person in the world. If I wasn't doing this, I don't know what I would be doing." - Bethany Cosentino.

With My Morning Jacket now beginning to prepare material for a new album, they are making their limited collaborations and live appearances count in a big way. Coming up next Friday, October 11th the band will be performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallonand will be joined on-stage by Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes and Merrill Garbus oftUne-yArDs in honor of their contribution to Red Hot + Fela .
An album of Fela Kuti compositions, Red Hot + Fela hopes to raise AIDS awareness, and all proceeds from the album will go towards that cause. My Morning Jacket, along with Garbus and Howard, recorded the track “Trouble Sleep Yanga Wake Am” for the album.
In addition, Jim James gave Indaba members the opportunity to remix the song 'State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U)' from his critically acclaimed solo album Regions of Light and Sound of God. The winner is titled "State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.) (Robot Toast Remix)", included in the A.E.I.O.U.R.E.M.I.X.E.S. Mood Rings playing at El Rey Theatre on November 12 with Cults
MOOD RINGSPhoto Credit: Zach WolfeMood Rings will be hitting the road this fall on a massive North American tour with Cults. The band will be playing songs from their Mexican Summer debut, VPI Harmony.
Their music draws on a range of influences and is a kaleidoscope of layers and textures that take you to a different headspace with each song, all the while maintaining a cohesion throughout. Gorilla vs Bear describe lead single "The Line" as "softly shimmering, achingly pretty + sort of timeless" and The Guardian describes their sound noting the album "marries airy drum splashes and gusts of guitar with singer Will Fussell's breathy vocals."
