SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR - ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE

ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE ‘RUNAWAY DAYDREAMER’ RELEASED ON 31ST MARCH
NEW ALBUM ‘WANDERLUST’ OUT NOW
UK TOUR IN APRIL
LISTEN: RUNAWAY DREAMER

“Revelling in her new-found artistic freedom. Ellis-Bextor is a star” - The Telegraph
“An album with a melancholy Balkan heart. Remodelling herself could be the best thing Ellis-Bextor has done in years” - The Guardian
“Introduces Ellis-Bextor as a singer of real depth. A great album” - Evening Standard
“A more stately kind of pop” - Mojo
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced a new single ‘Runaway Daydreamer’, from her recent album ‘Wanderlust’, which will be released on 31st March on EBGB’s.

Recent album ‘Wanderlust’ entered the UK album chart at #4 as the highest new entry on week of release, giving Sophie Ellis-Bextor her first top 10 record since 2007’s ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’. It is also the only album this year to achieve three consecutive weeks inside the UK Top 10 albums chart.

‘Wanderlust’ features 11 powerfully understated songs showcasing a newfound maturity both lyrically and musically, and is Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s fifth studio album. Co-written, produced and arranged by acclaimed singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt, Wanderlust was recorded in a London studio in just two weeks with a tightly-knit group of musicians and friends.

New single ‘Runaway Daydreamer’ follows first single ‘Young Blood’, which received strong support from Radio 2 and is already a live favourite. ‘Runaway Daydreamer’, released on 31st March, is a fleeting fantasy of running away from everyday life and seeing what else the world holds and is an upbeat track with a gorgeous string-laden chorus.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor recently performed a sold out show at London’s Bush Hall which received glowing reviews with The Telegraph calling the show “a crowd pleasing triumph”. Tickets for her April tour are on sale now and full dates are as follows:

Jessica Lea Mayfield confirms spring tour

JESSICA LEA MAYFIELD CONFIRMS SPRING TOUR
MAKE MY HEAD SING… OUT APRIL 15 ON ATO RECORDS, NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER
“I WANNA LOVE YOU” PREMIERES AT STEREOGUM, “OBLIVIOUS” PREMIERES AT ROLLING STONE
“…matches a grunge-era deadpan with gnarly leftfield roots music in service of haunting, smoldering rock ’n’ roll.”—Stereogum
“Mayfield’s echo-laden bluegrass vocals mesh with scorching electric guitar lines to render remarkable results…”—Rolling Stone
Jessica Lea Mayfield will embark on a nationwide U.S. tour this spring, including dates at New York’s Mercury Lounge and Cleveland’s Beachland Ballroom. See below for complete details. The tour celebrates the acclaimed Kent, OH native’s highly anticipated album, Make My Head Sing… , which will be released April 15on ATO Records and is now available for pre-order with an instant download of the single, “I Wanna Love You.” Physical pre-orders can be purchased at www.jessicaleamayfield.com.
Already receiving widespread critical praise, Stereogum calls “I Wanna Love You,” a “…darkly entrancing single," while Rolling Stone describes the track “Oblivious” as “…[an] innovative, genre-bending number…” Moreover Brooklyn Vegan asserts, “…it sounds like she’s been listening to a good deal of sludge metal, with raw, thick riffage that’s up there with many of the more likely Sabbath worshippers. Her voice remains gentle though, making for a pretty interesting mix.” Both tracks can be heard/embedded here—“I Wanna Love You” and “Oblivious.”
Make My Head Sing… was co-produced by Mayfield and her collaborator, bassist and husband Jesse Newport and was recorded at Nashville’s Club Roar studio. Of the new music Mayfield comments, “The whole record is just me and Jesse and my drummer Matt Martin. I think a lot of my favorite bands are guitar, bass and drums. I wanted to simplify things. Bands are so big these days, I wanted to get in the studio and make a rock record and hear real guitar tones and something heavy.”
Make My Head Sing… follows Mayfield’s 2011 release, Tell Me, which was produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and was described by Rolling Stone, which named her an Artist to Watch, as “a disarming collision of stark country balladry, dynamic alternative rock and arty electronic pop.” Additionally, the Associated Press asserted, “Tell Me is the portrait of a precocious girl growing into self-assured womanhood and a producer reaching the peak of his powers. It is a dark and moody album, full of delights throughout, and if it doesn’t make Mayfield a star, that too will be heartbreaking,” while Spin Magazine included Mayfield in their “The Next Big Things: 11 Artists You Must Hear in 2011” feature, calling her a “smart-ass country-rock ingénue.” She also made her network television debut on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” performing the album’s first single, “Our Hearts Are Wrong,” which NPR Music praised as “…genuinely moving” (http://tinyurl.com/4fn93o6).

Willy Mason To Tour This Spring With First Aid Kit

Willy Mason To Tour This Spring With First Aid Kit & Perform at Sasquatch in MayNew Album Carry On Out Now On Communion Records "Yes, you read that right: Willy Mason's Carry On is a perfect record. Perfect - we wouldn't  change a note!" - American Songwriter   "Equal parts hobo and Holden Caulfield...Willy Mason blends precocious
lyricism, spare, jangly guitar, and a world-weary voice that
sounds older than his years." - Rolling Stone
"Mason's lo-fi blues/folk blend is refreshingly humble and unostentatious.  Instead of using
these standards as a springboard for modern adventures in composition, he sticks to their rawboned essence. Unlike some of his peers, Mason doesn't play up that rawness; instead he allows those old Progressions to work their magic..." -Pitchfork
Watch: Willy Mason perform "Talk Me Down" at
Last.fm
Watch: Willy Mason perform "I've Got Gold" at Relix
Willy Mason just announced a spring tour with First Aid Kit in support of his critically acclaimed album Carry On out now on Communion RecordsAmerican Songwriter said,"Mason's voice is gorgeous, his lyrics evocative and his arrangements adventurous - it's a complete package that is as airtight as it is simple, as gorgeous as it rugged, the sort of record that burrows deep into your brain and doesn't let go." Willy's upcoming tour makes stops in major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City and more. Additionally, Willy Mason will be performing on the main stage at the Sasquatch! Festival held at the Gorge Amphitheater in May. All shows are listed below.

Willy Mason recently performed "Talk Me Down" from Carry On for Last.fm and stopped by the Relix Magazine Headquarters to perform "I've Got Gold." Both videos are available to post and share. Additional official videos, sessions and performances are available to watch on the official Willy Mason Website.
Carry On, produced by Dan Carey (MIA, Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand), is Mason's debut full-length album for Communion Records, the influential UK based record label co-founded by Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons). The label has been home to notable artists Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, Gotye, Daughter and more. Communion's love and respect for Willy was cemented through Lovett touring with Mason - seeing the new songs take shape and evolve live. Lovett says:
"Willy Mason is one of the greatest Songwriters of our generation. In the UK his music is held up with the legends, and has inspired many people I know. Moving to the US this year and establishing Communion further in North America, I have been stunned by how little familiarity there is with Willy's music, I am stunned by how few people have been touched by his songs. And this emotion, one of injustice, is exactly why I started Communion with my friends and partners in the UK in the first place...Willy Mason sings songs to your soul, and it feels good."
Willy was just 19 when he was discovered by an associate of Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), which led to the release of his debut album, Where the Humans Eat on Oberst's Team Love record label. It was a record that showed us a young man with a tremendous, broad-oaked voice, a great songwriting talent, and a peculiar wisdom beyond his years.  In 2007, he returned with If The Ocean Gets Rough, an album that only underlined his ability to capture the spirit of a time, a place, and a generation. Mason earned massive critical commercial in the UK, selling 150k records and performing to thousands as a headline artist.
In the years that followed, Mason kept himself busy: writing songs of course, but also playing in friends' bands, promoting shows, teaching music classes, as well as a little shell-fishing, and hosting a radio talk show called 'The Fish & Farm Report'. "The diversity and the range of experiences gave me a chance to learn a lot more about music." Mason says. "I got to further my musicianship. I came to see playing shows and entertainment as a fundamental part of society, and I'm just playing my role."  Willy was also featured in the video for "No Room For Doubt" (approaching one million views on Youtube), a collaboration between he and breakout artist, Liana LaHavas, which helped launch her career in the UK.
All the while, Mason was accumulating a clutch of new songs that would make up Carry On. On his relationship with Carey, Mason states: "Dan was a musical collaborator, and so he had a big influence on the sound," Mason says "He was able to make the beats sound so human, and so it felt like the tracks were laid and I could kind of let go a bit more."
Letting go is perhaps the greatest theme of Carry On. It's present in the rhythms - hints of dub and reggae infusing Mason's characteristic folk structures, and in his voice as well , which swings from gravel-deep to something higher, flightier and more fragile. And of course, it's also packed tight in these songs' lyrics; songs about self-doubt, about love and lost connections, the death of a friend, and a broader, bolder sense of the changing world around us. There is a hope rising anew. Mason says, "I think the album itself is about growing up and trying to find one's place," Mason says, "about making peace with the past, accepting it as part of one's identity and moving forward."

6 FEET BENEATH THE MOON OUT NOW VIA TRUE PANTHER/XL RECORDINGS Remix art by Jim Joe, creative direction care of Virgil Abloh
In advance of his upcoming European tour, King Krule is back today to share Kanye West collaborator Travi$ Scott's remix of 6 Feet Beneath The Moon highlight "Neptune Estate," accompanied by new artwork from Jim Joe with creative direction from Virgil Abloh. The remix finds Scott striking a balance between the original's somber mood and his own trademark production, rounded out with an entirely new verse. Check out the remix along with King Krule's upcoming tour dates below.

Tickets available at http://kingkrule.co.uk/dates/ About King Krule:    As King Krule, 18 year old south-east London based singer/producer/songwriter Archy Marshall has quietly and stealthily crafted a reputation for himself as one of the most raw and startling voices of a new generation. With his unexpectedly deep and mournful baritone tracing fissures of disappointment and social disorientation to devastating effect, Marshall has harnessed the inchoate frustration and fury of youth and translated it into a series of brilliant singles released on the likes of True Panther Sounds and Rinse over the past few years.
Now comes 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, his first full-length on XL Recordings/True Panther Sounds, and with it, the much anticipated unveiling of the full scope and scale of Marshall's vision. Over the course of 14 tracks, Marshall's passions and confusions are rubbed raw and laid bare, the only connective tissue throughout it all being one of searing lyrical clarity paired with a confounding musical deftness which utterly belies his tender years. From the opening clarion call of "Easy, Easy" it is abundantly clear that this is a breathtakingly bold and arresting sonic worldview, as his songs, produced by Marshall along with Rodaidh McDonald (The XX, Savages), open up to become a loose knit meditation on regret and discontent, loss of faith and renewal of hope, and optimism in the face of desperation.
Eschewing much of his previously released material, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon firmly yet soundly rejects any notion of contemporary trends or peers to occupy its very own unique place on the music landscape, oscillating gently between the classic 50's soul of Gene Vincent and Elvis Presley to the minimal, avant-garde experimentation of Penguin Café Orchestra, to even the electronic smog and dub textures of Marshall's beloved Rinse FM. This is a record where the nakedly bluesy stomp of the likes of "A Lizard State" and "Easy, Easy" sit effortlessly next to the low-end frequency and shimmering beats of "Neptune Estate" and "Will I Come," after all. It is reflective as much of Marshall's own eclectic tastes as it is of the frenetic pulse and rhythm of the city around him, particularly the rapidly changing south-east areas in which he grew up. There is a genuine grittiness and world weariness ingrained here, as exemplified so succinctly when Marshall sings, "Hate...runs through my blood" on the stunning "Out Getting Ribs," the track which started all the fuss.
All these esoteric textures and fidgety, off-kilter rhythms make perfect sense as an album however, especially when you consider that incredible voice. Whether he is singing ruefully of youthful disaffection and "the heat of my own treason" ("Ceiling") or spitting out venomous lines like "I'm not going to crack like you cracked...I don't want to be trapped in the black of your heart" over the jittery "A Lizard State," its clear that something which marks Marshall out is his stunning ability to turn intense emotional peaks and troughs into spectacular pieces of artful, atmospheric and anthemic balladeering.
Some of the imagery is disturbing to be sure (as on the closer "Bathed in Grey" where he offhandedly murmurs that he "there was blood...found a body in the dark") but the songs are also imbued with genuine heart as well, as epitomised on his heart rending update of "Out Getting Ribs." Taken as a whole, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon is the sound of a young man growing up - not for nothing is this album being released, unconventionally enough, on a Saturday, which also marks Marshall's 19th birthday - and attempting to grapple with the realities of the world he inhabits, an unsparing dissection of the social decay that has begun to set in around him - and a fascinating, brutal journey it is too.     King Krule 6 Feet Beneath The Moon (True Panther/XL Recordings)Aug 24, 2013  1. KATE NASH ANNOUNCES NEW TOUR DATES
MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SISTER" NOW ON VEVO
27940009.jpg
"Sister" Music Video: http://vevo.ly/daRKvo

British Female Icon, KATE NASH will be hitting the road this spring.  The post punk singer-songwriter will be performing at various music festivals, most notably Coachella.  Check out the dates below:

April 04: Kansas City, MO – Middle of the Map Festival
April 07: Boulder, CO – Fox Theatre
April 11: Indio, CA – Empire Polo Club (Coachella)
April 14: West Hollywood, CA – The Roxy
April 15: San Luis Obispo, CA – SLO Brewing Company
April 16: Visalia, CA – The Cellar Door
April 18: Indio, CA – Empire Polo Club (Coachella)

For ticket information on these dates, check out Kate's website: http://www.myignorantyouth.com/tour/

Last week, Kate premiered her new video for "Sister" on VEVO.  The video has already received praise in the media, including MySpace, who featured "Sister" alongside Beyonce and Rihanna.  "Sister" is remniscent of '90s punk rock with a very raw feel to it.  Given the subject matter of "Sister," raw and real are qualities definitely needed to portray the bittersweet relationship between two female best friends turned lovers.  Kate Nash is not afraid to show any side of herself -- from classy and pretty to gritty and grungy.  Nash starts off "Sister" with smooth vocals, before launching into a full on rock whine as the chorus kicks in and reveals the bitter feelings of heartbreak.

"SISTER" on VEVO: http://vevo.ly/daRKvo

"Sister" is the last single off the album GIRL TALK .  The album blends so many different styles from different eras, but still remains edgy with relevent lyrics exploring modern sexuality and using tongue-in-cheek humor.  Nash spent most of last year on her world tour and will spend 2014 performing at various music festivals this year, most notably Coachella and SXSW.

Flashlights New Album Bummer Summer Out This Spring

Flashlights New Album Bummer Summer Out This Spring On Hard Rock RecordsPure Volume Premieres New Track "Failure"Spring Tour Dates Announced     Listen: "Failure" via Pure Volume or Soundcloud         Pure Volume has premiered "Failure" from the upcoming Flashlights album, Bummer Summer, out this Spring on Hard Rock Records. Pure Volume said, "Taking inspiration from '90s indie heroes Sebadoh, Archers of Loaf and Superchunk, Flashlights' riveting guitar pop continues to evolve in a big way on their upcoming full-length album." Flashlights' Terry Caudill told Pure Volume, "We've been waiting to release something new for so long! This track is about when your expectations fail you and it makes you sad. The ending is EPIC." "Failure" is also available to stream and share via SoundCloud. Flashlights will hit the road this spring with Miniature Tigers and will perform at the SXSW Music Festival. All shows are listed below.
Who exactly are Flashlights? They tour in a van and sleep on couches. They have a strange affinity for cats and Pokemon. They're called Flashlights and they are a rather spectacular band from the decidedly unspectacular Brevard County, Florida. What began as a solo acoustic project for 24-year-old singer/guitarist Terry Caudill in 2007 has added various members from the local punk scene before settling on their current lineup of Tony Oriza on guitar, Will Powell on bass and Melissa Hopkins on drums.

They made a pretty good record in 2011 called I'm Not Alone and now they've just finished a new one. It's called Bummer Summer and it's even better. Produced by Scott Hutchison and Andy Monaghan of Frightened Rabbit, it's full of songs about dead end jobs and lousy living conditions, heartbreaks and hangovers. And, of course, there are also songs about cats.

Creaky and hissy, you would be forgiven for confusing it with early Archers of Loaf, Superchunk or Built to Spill. Caudill's voice has been favorably compared to the likes of Lou Barlow and Jeff Mangum. Bummer Summer lives up to its name but it also manages to find hilarity in humility and beauty in the bleak.

As far as expectations for the band and for this album, Caudill sums it up as such: "I want the listener to feel like they're eating candy. Instead, they're eating old, used parts from a machine that separates colored clothes from white clothes. I want the success that comes with 'Chinese take-out' being taken seriously on our rider. And most of all, I want people knocking on my door asking me if this is where Shaft lives."
