WATCH OBITS NEW VIDEO FOR "I'M CLOSING IN"

There is a new and professionally animated video for the Obits song “I’m Closing In,” directed by Paul Clark.
And, this May, Obits will play shows in both North AND South America. Bed & Bugs, the most recent album from Obits, was released in the fall of 2013 on Sub Pop Records. Between then and now, and in an effort to highlight the excellent qualities of their third full-length album, the band has toured these United States and Europe and released a couple of other, very good music videos. There’s one for the song “Spun Out” and also one for the song “Operation Bikini” (in which, as one Youtube commenter astutely observed, there are no bikinis). And now, there is a new and really, very great animated video for the song “I’m Closing In” which was directed by Paul Clark . Please click here to watch it! This May, Obits will be playing two shows here in the U.S. before heading to Brazil for both the Sub Pop Festival in Sao Paulo and the Bananada Festival in Goiania, Brazil. Labelmates Mudhoney and METZ will be playing both of those Brazilian festivals along with Obits. Recent live footage from Spain’s Radio 3 captures some small portion of the allure of Obits’ live shows. Please get into it. Upcoming live performances by Obits:May 10 - Brooklyn, NY at The Wick (with The Men and Nude Beach)May 13 - Atlanta, GA at The EarlMay 15 - Sao Paulo, Brazil at the Sub Pop Festival (at Audio) (with Mudhoney and METZ)May 16 - Goiania, Brazil at the Bananada Festival (with Mudhoney and METZ)

Megafauna - Austin's riff raging lady-led indie trio
Megafauna Maximalist
SXSW show schedule below!Listen to "Haunted Factory" track HERE.

Austin trio Megafauna premiered the first song from their forthcoming album Maximalist recently viaNoisey.com. The track "Haunted Factory" is available to listen/share HERE . (Alternate Soundcloud link HERE .)
Megafauna also play several shows during SXSW this year and will kick off an extensive headlining North America tour in April. Please see current dates below.
As the title to Austin trio Megafauna's sophomore album Maximalist might suggest, it's optimistic, expansive and unabashedly over-the-top; an endeavor to take music to its utmost potential. The band's supercharged mixture of sounds ranging from prog-rock flash to alt-rock iconoclasm to pithy power-pop and garage rock energy is as infectious as it is inclusive. Megafauna paves their own hook-laden path -- much like the Pixies and Queen, who taught the world that even the most unusual pairings of styles can result in unforgettable and eternal classics.
Megafauna singer/guitarist Dani Neff was named Austin's Best Electric Guitarist by the Austin Chronicle. Although she's frequently referred to as a "shredder," one should never mistake her tasteful and clever virtuosity for flagrant flashiness. She's a woman of many talents: a dancer, musician, painter, feminist, lawyer, reiki practitioner, psychonaut -- clearly someone who embodies the maximalist philosophy.
The album kicks off with the driving, time-signature leaping rocker, "Eggs" in which drummer Zack Humphrey, bassist Greg Yancey and Neff shift rhythms on a dime while showcasing exactly what makes Megafauna a band to covet: their expertise at fusing seemingly disparate musical styles. Likewise, "Hug From a Robot" somehow perfectly pairs gliding melodies with hard rock bite, something akin to The Breeders meets Red-era King Crimson. Elsewhere, the perfectly radio-ready track "Time To Go" blasts off with chiming guitar as Neff coos, "When it's time to go/ It's time/ Won't you sail me down to the fields." Death never sounded so uplifting in a 3-minute rock song. "Haunted Factory" gallops along Humphrey's syncopated hi-hat/snare interplay as Yancey's rumbling, distortion-ravaged bass lines cut like fangs across Neff's swiftly-picked guitar work as her powerful voice soars above the proceedings. Throughout, Maximalist is a truly inspired effort poised to become a touchstone of rock innovation.
Maximalist was mixed by legendary engineer Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam, David Bowie; recently featured in Tape Op Magazine) and recorded with Dwight Baker (Blue October, Bob Schneider) in Austin. Maximalist will be available on LP, CD and download on April 15th, 2014 via Danimal Kingdom.MEGAFAUNA LIVE:03/08 Austin, TX @ Shine Studio (Converse Rubber Tracks)03/10 Austin, TX @ Spider House (Chapel Stage)03/11 Austin, TX @ Guero's (Future of Indie Showcase)03/15 Austin, TX @ Shiner's Saloon03/16 Austin, TX @ Danimal Kingdom Party03/21 Bryan, TX @ Grand Stafford Theater04/19 Austin, TX @ Red 7 Outside - Album release party04/23 New Orleans, LA @ Hi Ho04/24 Atlanta, GA @ Mammal Gallery04/25 Athens, GA @ Go Bar04/26 Raleigh, NC @ Slim's04/27 Durham, NC @ Motorco04/30 Philadelphia, PA @ North Star Bar05/01 New York, NY @ Knitting Factory05/02 Boston, MA @ Studio 5205/06 - 05/10 Toronto, ON - Canadian Music Week05/11 Detroit, MI @ Loving Touch05/13 Chicago, IL @ The Burlington05/15 St. Louis, MO @ The Demo05/16 Hot Springs, AR @ Maxine's Live05/17 Denton, TX @ Dan's Silverleaf05/29 El Paso, TX @ Low Brow

Announce North American Tour

Listen to Black Bananas Remix of “Mess On A Mission” HERE
New Album Mess released March 25th, 2014
LIARS (Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross) are excited to announce their first North American tour - in support of new album Mess - kicking off at the Desert Daze Festival in Mecca, CA on Saturday, April 26th. Throughout the course of their career Liars have amassed a cult following. Angus, Aaron and Julian have become known for their turbulent, intoxicating and inventive performances that result in the audience smashed up against the stage sweating and screaming for more. With stops at Austin Psych Fest, New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge andSasquatch Music Festival, Liars are sure to make a lasting impression on your spring concert schedule.
Tickets for all dates on sale this week, check each of the dates below for individual tickets links.
In preparation for their upcoming album release on March 25th, 2014 Liars are excited to share a remix of “Mess On A Mission” by their friends Black Bananas , give it a listen HERE.
LIARS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR:

May 7th-Underground Arts-Philadelphia, PA
May 8th-Le Poisson Rouge-New York, NY

May 23rd-Sasquatch Music Festival @ The Gorge Amphitheatre-George, WA
May 24th-Star Theater-Portland, OR
May 27th-The Fonda Theatre-Los Angeles, CA
Mess is the follow up to 2012’s WIXIW, the sound of a band in an ambiguous, fragileIn-between state. Mess , on the other hand, is Liars with their balls out – an angry, ecstatic, primal burst of ritualistic electronics that sacrifices self-persecution for potent, purposeful abandon.
Explains Angus Andrew, “We are a reactionary, or maybe a better word is schizophrenic band. We go from one extreme to the other. Working on the last record was really doubtful and paranoid, and that's fine, but it just meant that when work started on this one, it was the exact opposite. It was way more instinctual, fun and confident.”
Produced by Angus Andrew and mixed by Timothy “Q” Wiles (whose previous production credits include label-mates VCMG), the new album is less concerned with place as on previous albums, but sees the band back in their own studio in LA.
Mess will be released on CD, double vinyl and download. Limited edition vinyl is now sold out.

Mess is the sound of Liars not only facing their fears-but chewing them up and spitting them back out in all their technicolour glory.
The album release follows the Mess On A Mission EP, released March 18.

TOUR DATES WITH THE GHOST OF A SABERTOOTH TIGER ANNOUNCED
Harvest recording group Syd Arthur has announced the release of their eagerly anticipated new album. Sound Mirror, the acclaimed British psychedelic band's second full-length outing, arrives on May 20th. In the meantime, pre-orders have begun via the iTunes Store. Sound Mirror is heralded by the tantalizing new song, "Garden of Time," with the track's companion videopremiering today exclusively via www.relix.com. Additional clips - including rare live videos - can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/user/ruhtradys.
Syd Arthur will celebrate the release of Sound Mirror with a number of much anticipated US live dates. Among this month's highlights are a jam-packed schedule of parties and showcases at Austin, Texas' annual South By Southwest (March 11th - 16th) extravaganza and a much-anticipated New York City headline show, slated for March 18th at Rockwood Music Hall. In April, the band return for an appearance at the upcoming Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (April 12th & 19th). A full North American tour - including performances at such summer gatherings as George, Washington's Sasquatch! Music Festival and Rothbury, Michigans' Electric Forest Festival - will be unveiled soon. For up-to-the-minute news and information, please see http://sydarthur.co.uk. The band will be touring with Sean Lennon's The Ghost Of A Sabertooth Tiger beginning in San Francisco on May 20 and ending in Boston on June 7. A complete list of dates is below. Produced by Syd Arthur at their own Wicker Studios in Southeast London, and mixed by Tom Elmhirst (Beck, Arcade Fire, U2), Sound Mirror reflects the proudly self-reliant band's ever-expanding mastery of the recording process. Songs such as "Autograph" and "Singularity" dance about rock's outer limits, where gear-shifting extremes are counterbalanced by windswept melody and brilliantly crafted psychedelia. Traditional borderlines are obliterated as elements of free jazz improvisation, floor-filling funk, and bucolic folk fuse with the band's most focused and emotionally direct songwriting thus far. Progressive in the truest sense, tracks like "Hometown Blues" and "Backwardstepping" evade the epic, instead offering a strikingly succinct interplay of deeply felt songcraft and collectivist performance.
Syd Arthur - Liam Magill (lead vocals, guitar), his brother Joel (bass, vocals), Raven Bush (vocal, mandolin, keys), and Fred Rother (drums and percussion) - emerged out of Kent early in the new century, their contemporary revision of classic British psychedelic music quickly leading MOJO to proclaim them "Canterbury's dazzling new sons."
On An On, the band's 2012 debut album (released in 2013 by Harvest), affirmed their insatiable appetite for aural invention, bridging ambitious time-shifting workouts with indelible folk-pop dazzlers like the breakthrough single, "Ode To The Summer."
In addition to their widely hailed studio efforts, Syd Arthur has also earned applause as a thrilling live act, honing their distinctive stagecraft through near-constant performance, including myriad UK headline shows and support slots alongside such like-minded artists as White Denim, Jonathan Wilson, The Pixies and the one and only Paul Weller.
