The video was shot and directed by Don Argott who recently released his documentary on Lamb of Gods frontman Randy Blythe titled As The Palaces Burn and previously directed films such as The Art of The Steal and Rock School. Viewers will also notice a cameo by fellow Philadelphian Kurt Vile in the music video. The record is available now via Relapse Records. Rolling Stone recently tipped Nothing in their 'New Artists You Need To Know' feature and had previously tipped Nothing as one 'CMJ 2013's 10 Best Discoveries' after seeing them perform live; since then the band has played shows with Ty Segall, Cold Cave, DIIV, Weekend, and performed at the FADER Fort during SXSW. Now, Nothing will be embarking on new tour dates which can be seen below.

"A super group that doesn't celebrate itself... come up with an album of mournful pop played as tripped-out psych-gaze" - The Line Of Best Fit Black Hearted Brother - the new trio formed by Neil Halstead (Slowdive, Mojave 3), Mark Van Hoen (Locust, Seefeel) and Nick Holton (Coley Park, Holton's Opulent Oog) will release the Got Your Love EP on April 1. It will be available from iTunes and all download retailers and streaming services.The EP's lead track is an edited version of one of the standout songs on last year's debut album, Stars Are Our Home (available now in the Slumberland Online Store) always sounded a bit like a lost indie-disco classic, mixing moody Mary Chain melancholia with a thumping electronic beat and squelching sequencers."'Got Your Love' is really the poppiest song on the album," agrees the band's Nick Holton. "It started life on GarageBand, but we added a big floor drum, three big guitars, Mark's bass synth and Neil's catchy melody. It became a long song, clocking in at just under eight minutes thanks to Mark's epic intro and outro. It actually features a massive hammer - and it is really massive - from Brooklyn as the pulsing percussion."There is also one brand new track. "'Don't Take The Weight' started life in my large vault of instrumental ditties," explains Mark Van Hoen. "One of the privileges of the Brethren is the opportunity to cherry pick from this fruitful orchard of sonic delights, and this one did the trick. TOY have quickly established a sound that is as modernistic as it is faithful to the spirit of psychedelia of decades past, marrying sophisticated chord progressions with a cornucopia of effects, enigmatic lyricism and driving Motorik rhythms.
Their sophomore record Join The Dots is out now via Heavenly Recordings.
The band admit to enjoying playing late at night to people in altered states, and in turn the tracks are frequently altered: instrumental sections in particular are structured freely, enabling the band to exploit the bleed and feedback of each venue to produce endless variations of the same songs.
As with their debut, Join The Dots was recorded mostly live with Dan Carey at the helm, although increased studio time has enabled the band to experiment more with Carey's laboratory of effects and pre-amps, and embellish the tracks with overdubs. The album is both a companion to and extension of the electric blueprint plotted out on Toy, filled as it is with increasingly unpredictable, illuminating sonic ideas and songs that shift and transform with seemingly effortless intricacy.

On March 29th, 2014, at a remote High Desert location in California, former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante's new album ENCLOSURE was loaded onto an experimental Cube Satellite called Sat-JF14 and launched into space aboard an Interorbital Systems' NEPTUNE Modular Rocket.
Beginning today, March 31st, fans from around the world can download the free, custom-built Sat-JF14 mobile application developed by Frusciante's longtime label Record Collection and leading Brazilian Creative Agency, Loducca. This app will enable users to track Sat-JF14 's movement in real time. When Sat-JF14 hovers over a users' geographic region,ENCLOSURE will be unlocked, allowing users to listen to the album for free on any iOS or Android mobile device. Sat - JF14 also supports an integrated social chat platform giving fans the ability to communicate with one another after listening to the music. The album preview will last until midnight on April 7th, at which point Sat-JF14 will cease transmission.

Says Iwasa of the clip, "The idea behind this video was to create very visual and eye striking imagery that talks to your subconscious mind. To capture the energy the band generate when they perform was very challenging.
Bo Ningen are my good friends and I have played with them many times as a musician. That experience and watching their live performance so many times has given me a deep understanding of what they are.
They are individually interesting and very different, I ask them to express with their body how they would transfer their sound into body movement without instruments. When these individuals come together, their collective energy is enormous and their commitment to the band is very strong, I wanted to create one very strong Symbolic image almost like a statue.
I was focusing on capturing the silhouette of their movement and shadows. My aim was to create traditional dance like Butou dance or Noh theatre like but with the essence of modern pop video."

Collaborations withJehnny Beth of Savages and Roger Robinson of King Midas Sound feature and they've sung partly in English for the first time. The album was recorded over several months with the band spending more time on the production and development of the songs. "III" illustrates Bo Ningen as a group with a singular vision, reaching for what they define as 'pure music', by turns esoteric and a no holds barred sensory assault.

This week Mar Vista, California’s Xu Xu Fang released their new single “Noir State Beach” (via Consequence of Sound) and a new video for the track as well. Watch actorLuke Grimes (True Blood, Fifty Shades of Grey) get stalked along the streets of LA courtesy of Rolling Stone .
Xu Xu Fang are a dark-and-brooding, slow-and-rolling musical experience like something you’d hear at a Laserium show or listen to on big headphones in the back of a conversion van. A quintet comprised of drummer/songwriter/producer Bobby Tamkin (previously in The Warlocks), guitarist Devin Johnson, keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Kyle Hines, lead vocalist Sinosa Micik and recently added Derek Muro on synthesizers, Xu Xu Fang has previously shared the stage with Warpaint, A Place To Bury Strangers, Duke Spirit and more.
The “Noir State Beach” video was directed by long-time Spike Jonze collaborator Casey Storm, who as costume designer, marked his fourth feature film collaboration with Jonze on the Academy Award winning film "Her." Storm has previously designed costumes for Jonze's acclaimed films "Where The Wild Things Are," "Being John Malkovich" and "Adaptation." He has worked on a wide range of music videos for artists including Michael Jackson, Metallica, Beck, The Beastie Boys, The Cure, Bjork, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs to list just a few.
Enter Queens of the Stone Age bass player Michael Shuman. Upon hearing Xu Xu Fang’s new album in progress, Shuman joined the band in the studio, recording bass and vocals on several of the band’s new songs, even singing duet lead vocals on many of the tracks.
Excited with what he heard, producer/mixer, Alain Johannes, known for his work with QOTSA, and Arctic Monkeys, took an interest in Xu Xu Fang, and contributed mixes to the upcoming full-length record, to be released later this year. Be on the look out for the new album and Xu Xu Fang’s upcoming shows, including one next week at LA’s SIR on April 3rd.

Band of Skulls’ new album, Himalayan , is now streaming in full exclusively at iTunes . Out next Tuesday on Electric Blues Recordings via Kobalt Label Services, the album is already receiving widespread critical acclaim—the Village Voice asserts, “Cool enough for hipsters, heavy enough for metal heads, smart enough for muso snobs, Band of Skulls succeed in striking that oft-elusive aural sweet spot for fans of all stripes,” while NME praises, “Like The Black Keys at their meanest, it stomps away before propelling itself into a riff of Black Sabbath standards…”
In celebration of the release, the U.K. trio recently performed their hit single, “Asleep at the Wheel,” on “ Late Night with Seth Meyers .” The song, whose official music video can be viewed/embedded here, is also currently featured in worldwide Netflix campaign. Additionally, a new video for the album track, “Nightmares,” recently premiered at Vevo.
After recently performing sold out shows in L.A. and Brooklyn, the trio will return this spring for extensive North American tour. Of their recent performance at the iTunes Festival at SXSW, American Songwriter praised, “the blistering rock nature of these tunes indicating that the group…have pursued an altogether more arena-capable sound.” See below for complete tour itinerary.
Himalayan was produced by Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) and was recorded during the summer of 2013 in Richmond, London at State of the Ark studios. It follows 2012’s Sweet Sour, which debuted at #14 on the U.K. album chart and received widespread acclaim—NME praised, “Proficient, precision-executed blues-rock,” while Consequence of Sound praised, “sizzles with muscle-driven, sludgy honest-to-goodness rock.” In the years since, the band has toured alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse and sold-out two headlining shows at London’s The Roundhouse and Brixton Academy.

JAMES IHA COMPOSES SCORE FOR HULU ORIGINAL SERIES “DEADBEAT”

Photo Credit: Aliya Naumoff Musician and producer James Iha has composed the score for the Hulu Original Series “Deadbeat,” a supernatural comedy co-produced by Hulu and Lionsgate Television set to premiere on April 9th. In addition to his scoring work, James remains busy as a performing musician. In early May, he will play LA’s Greek Theatre in A Perfect Circle, with whom he has been a member since 2002. He is also playing the legendary Fuji Rock Festival in Japan this summer as a solo artist. You can hear the Deadbeat title theme song HERE. On scoring the series, Iha says “The creative process is about scoring chords and emotion to a picture which is completely different than creating music within a song. It’s a different side of the musical brain. The picture is created by the director and the writers, so this truly is a collaborative process.” All episodes of the show will be available on Hulu Plus on April 9th. Two episodes will debut on Hulu.com on April 9th, with new episodes rolling out weekly thereafter. James has been an established figure in the music scene for more than 20 years and first made a name for himself as one the founding members of The Smashing Pumpkins. Iha recorded and toured with the group until 2000, during which time the group earned worldwide fame and released ten albums. In 1998, he released his first solo album, Let It Come Down, and simultaneously co-founded indie label Scratchie Records, which released albums by artists such as Robbers on High Street and Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes. The late 90’s marked Iha’s move from Chicago to New York and the opening of his Stratosphere Sound Recording Studios with fellow musician and friend Adam Schlesinger (Fountains Of Wayne/Ivy). This period also marked the beginning of Iha’s focus on producing other musicians such as Michael Stipe, Cat Power, St. Lucia, Hunters, and The Sounds. Since that time, he joined rock band A Perfect Circle, scored several indie films, remixed songs for Yeah Yeahs Yeahs and Ladytron and released a second solo album, Look To The Sky.
