Sun Seeker shares video on Flood Magazine; 7" out now; Tour Dates

SUN SEEKER SHARES VIDEO FOR "GEORGIA DUST" ONFLOOD MAGAZINE   7" OUT NOW ON THIRD MAN RECORDS   SOUTHEAST TOUR DATES BEING THIS WEEK

The newly signed, Nashville natives, Sun Seeker has released the music video to their single"Georgia Dust" from their debut 7" on Flood Magazine. The Georgia Dust 7" is available now via Third Man Records. While still being deemed as the "freshman" of Third Man Records, Sun Seeker wastes no time in capturing the attention of critics as Flood Magazine writes, "it's a timeless piece of pop that could've come out at just about any time in the last thirty or so years, its good vibes augmented and tweaked toward melancholy by the peal of a pedal steel guitar". The video depicts a séance-esque intro, as the chamber pop quartette is slowly being resurrected into a zombie-like state, and was shot and directed by Third Man film department's Brad Holland last summer in East Nashville.
Watch the video for "Georgia Dust" on Flood Magazine or YouTube Georgia Dust also features the B- side, "No One Knows", which possesses the craftsmanship to be a single all on it's own. As we patiently await their debut LP, Sun Seeker will be touring in support of their newly released 7". See below for a complete list of tour dates. Order the 7" here: http://thirdmanstore.com/featured/sunseeker-georgia-dust-7-vinylOrder on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/georgia-dust-single/id1077037536?ls=1 https://soundcloud.com/thirdmanrecords/01-georgia-dust

ANDREW W.K. PARTYING HARD WITH THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

THE NEW YORK RANGERS - PARTYING TO ENSUE

New York, NY (February 9, 2016) -- Andrew W.K.'s anthem, "Party Hard" is now the official goal song for the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL hockey team. Andrew will be in attendance to host tomorrow night's game against the New York Rangers, his first appearance at the arena since his song has been declared the team's celebratory expression.

The song change came to fruition following a petition from fans on the Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies website stating, "'Party Hard' is the ultimate expression of joy, happiness and love for one another. These are all feelings associated with watching your favorite hockey team score a huge goal at home. Hugs all around, people. There are few songs with such power and direction. Andrew tells you to Party Hard You Party Hard."

Since "Party Hard" became the goal song on October 22, 2015, fan sentiment has been overwhelmingly positive and social media numbers have skyrocketed in agreement with the change, adding up to over 33 million impressions.

In other news, The King of Partying just kicked off his first ever Las Vegas residency, featuring four Party DJ sets at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's new Center Bar. Andrew will continue his monthly series on the first Saturday of each month with the next appearance on Saturday, March 5.

"The husky vocals give ['Species'] a goth vibe, the analog synth sequencing provides a minimal wave foundation, shards of angular guitar tear through the refrain and the multi-tracked chorus is pure pop catharsis" -  Idolator

"It's engaging stuff that inspires you to move with an '80s-influenced beat"  - Stereogum

"There's a newly minted swagger to her pop" -  Noisey
"Eliot Sumner will have you dancing with new single 'After Dark'" -  Billboard
"['Dead Arms & Dead Legs' is] a pretty huge pop song, with Sumner's androgynous alto sounding dusty and world-weary over a cloudy melody, anxious percussion, and-by song's end-a seasick swell of feedback" -  The Fader
January 21, 2016 - Today, Eliot Sumner announced that she will be returning to North America this March for a select group of tour dates, including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago and Austin.  Eliot's first full length album, Informationwill be released on January 22nd via Interscope Records and is streaming now on  Noisey  - PRESS HERE to listen to the album in full and PRESS HERE to pre-order  Information  on iTunes today!

WINTERSLEEP Premieres New Track "Santa Fe" Album

WINTERSLEEPPremieres New Track "Santa Fe" via Noisey SXSW and Canadian Tour Dates Announced New Album The Great Detachment Available on March 4, 2016 via Dine Alone Records Wintersleep, credit Norman Wong "['Santa Fe'] feels like a trip to the beach...It's short, sweet, and full of moments." -  Noisey  "['Amerika' is] a big, bold song, revolving like a slow-motion tornado around huge guitars, a booming rhythm and singer Paul Murphy's plangent vocals that take on a chant-like quality on the chorus." -  The Wall Street Journal
Alt-rock band Wintersleep has premiered their visceral, propulsive track " Santa Fe " on Noisey,  PRESS HERE  to listen! The track is from their highly-anticipated album  The Great Detachment  (their first in four years!), which will be released on March 4, 2016 viaDine Alone Records. Beginning today, the song will be available as an instant grat on the album, along with anthemic lead single " Amerika ." "Amerika" has received high praise after debuting at #2 on the CBC-Radio 2 chart in mid-January, and has since reached the Top 10 on the Canadian Alternative and Modern Rock Charts. The single has been  the #1 Most Added track at Alternative, and #2 Most Added at Active Rock for four weeks in a row. Wintersleep will celebrate the release of the album with a Canadian tour throughout March, as well as a stop in Austin, TX for SXSW. See full routing below, and  PRESS HERE  for purchasing information. Two years in the making,  The Great Detachment  marks a return to the organic approach of the band's earlier works that simultaneously sees them reaching new pinnacles of songwriting and production. The 11-song collection was recorded at Halifax's Sonic Temple (the birthplace of Welcome To The Night Sky and its preceding 2003 self-titled and 2005 untitled efforts) with producer Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai). The album is very much an introspective work, both conceptually and thematically. It delivers a welcome dose of the atmospheric, entrancing alt-rock for which the band has become known, with beautifully orchestrated arrangements anchored by haunting, almost hypnotic vocal melodies. The energy and urgency inherent in these songs makes them well-suited to the stage, adding more ammo to a captivating live show that's already earned these JUNO winners tours of several continents; stages shared with Pearl Jam, Broken Social Scene, and The Hold Steady; a performance on Late Night with David Letterman, and an opening slot for Sir Paul McCartney.  PRESS HERE  to pre-order the album.

ROGUE WAVE Announce First New Album in 3 Years + Stream "What Is Left To Solve"

ROGUE WAVEDelusions of Grand Fur(Easy Sound; April 29th, 2016)(Credit: Andrew Paynter)Today Rogue Wave announce their first new album in over 3 years entitled Delusions of Grand Fur, which will be released via Easy Sound on April 29th, 2016. The Bay Area band's sixth studio album, Delusions of Grand Fur - a title chosen as a riff on the tendency of fresh-faced musicians to misperceive the reality of band life - marks the reinvigorated return of Zach Rogue, his longtime bandmate Pat Spurgeon, and their fellow bandmembers. Recording and producing the entire LP themselves, Rogue Wave has seized creative control of its identity and sound and is set to smash any preconceptions of its music, revealing the most truthful, powerful, and urgent sonic blueprint of the band to date. PRESS HERE for physical pre-order and HERE for digital. See below for album art and tracklisting. Demonstrating the new, exciting direction that is heralded on Delusions of Grand Fur, the album's lead single "What Is Left To Solve" is a dark, indie pop single with electronic flourishes. The track premiered over the weekend on Sirius XMU, is streaming now exclusively via Stereogum, and is available as an instant grat with all digital pre-orders -PRESS HERE to listen now. Rogue Wave will also be taking Delusions of Grand Fur on the road this Spring, with newly announced tour dates starting in May. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 12th - see below to find a show near you. On Delusions of Grand Fur, Rogue Wave exhibit a fresh sound founded on the art of patience, the fearlessness of experimenting, and the unbridled joy of creating something meaningful to help us navigate through these vacant times. The record opens on a confident tone with the upbeat and personal "Take It Slow," a song inspired by a mantra of patience. The energy takes off on the next track, "In the Morning," which was given its gyrating, infectious pulse by the deft hands of its mixer, Chris Walla. And the bright clip of "California Bride," perhaps the tone that will prove most familiar to longtime fans, is a meditation on the beauty and fortune of being alive. The jangly, psychedelic "Ocean," featuring Mike Deni ofGeographer, is an instant smash about breaking up, and how getting stabbed in the back can leave you feeling infinitesimally small. By the time the album reaches its close with the slow-burning, achingly lush "Memento Mori," it's clear that Delusions of Grand Fur is a masterstroke by a band that knows who it is and has continued to evolve. In a sense a return to their recording roots, Rogue and Spurgeon decided to work without a producer, instead recording and producing themselves at their home studio in Oakland. Much like the band's debut, 2003's Out of the Shadow, a project completed entirely byRogue and a single engineer, the band worked without recording demo versions of songs-instead, the demos would simply become the songs. While the process of creating the songs themselves had somewhat of a natural evolution, the lyrics did not come as easy. Creating the band's strongest and most varied record to date in terms of storytelling, Roguefound success with his words when slowing himself down and recognizing that his wild juxtapositions of themes actually felt right. "It is the trajectory I've always wanted for this band," says Rogue. "It's the sound of who we actually are, for better or for worse." Despite the modest environment and DIY approach, the end result is a clear snapshot of whoRogue Wave is today. Watch this space for more on Rogue Wave, and look out for Delusions of Grand Fur this Spring: http://roguewavemusic.com/

Paste Premieres "Black Monday" From Post-Punk Revivalists Drinking Flowers

DRINKING FLOWERS ANNOUNCE NEW RECORDNEW SWIRLED ORDER
PREMIERE FIRST SINGLE "BLACK MONDAY" VIA PASTE MAGAZINE

NEW SWIRLED ORDER  OUT MARCH 18th VIA MANIFESTO RECORDS LISTEN / EMBED "BLACK MONDAY" HERE
"The track draws instant comparisons to Depeche Mode and The Cure in my head."- Paste Magazine Los Angeles post-punk revivalists Drinking Flowers have announced their new album  New Swirled Order  due out March 18th via the newly revamped Manifesto Records. The swirling, synth driven first single "Black Monday" has premiered via  Paste Magazine.  Taking from the book of Factory Records era post-punk, "Black Monday" is an incredibly dark yet, catchy slice of synth-pop. Vocalist / guitarist Alex Galindo explains, "'Black Monday' popped into my head, and it seemed to be the perfect two words to capture my feelings at the time. I was depressed, completely uninspired from my day job, and felt trapped. I wanted to make a really dumb and simple pop song with a lot of repetition and only a couple variations floating around. It's sort of a metaphor for the constant flow of uncreative non-liberating work most of us find ourselves doing." Drinking Flowers originated in Orange County. Shrugging off the shackles of surf and garage, they quickly moved to LA and within a few years established their own pop underground with a couple of washed out EPs. Most notably the transitional "Shadow Show" - whose cover art saw a collaboration with Vice News artist Alex Schubert. New Swirled Order will grace your ears March 18th 2016 on LP, digital & cassette.

ANDREW BIRD ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM + PERFORMS SINGLE ON CONAN

ANDREW BIRD ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM 'ARE YOU SERIOUS' TO BE RELEASED ON APRIL 1 VIA LOMA VISTA RECORDINGS

LISTEN TO THE FIRST SINGLE "CAPSIZED" BELOWhttp://found.ee/AndrewBird_Capsized

Andrew Bird has always been highly respected and has held a captive audience with his story telling prowess, but it's with his new album, 'Are You Serious', that he has made a breakthrough record. Coming April 1st via his new label home Loma Vista Recordings (Spoon, St. Vincent, HEALTH) and produced by Tony Berg, the album propels him into a new category of American songwriters. It's his most direct lyrically to date with key contributions from Fiona Apple and Blake Mills.
Three years ago while traveling west to California to start a new life with his wife and young child they stopped at the family farm in rural Illinois for two weeks to catch their breath. The previous two years had been intense to say the least: raising a child in New York City as his wife battled a serious illness. With these dark days behind them he spent the next seven days on the front porch writing the lyrics for what became "Are You Serious".  It's a breakthrough for him in that It gets to the quick of the matter. This is the record he needed to make right now and is certain to put him in the leading class of American songwriter.
The album was put together with a rigor akin to a novelist or playwright and musically crafted like a wrecking crew session where you have to be good right in that moment. There's little folksy quaintness or whimsical flights of fancy. There's less wordplay and more intent to process some difficult times that he went through. From the album art, created by the godfather of conceptual art John Baldessari to foregoing his traditional writing process, Bird has emerged from challenging times and a new process with an album that may be his best.
Premiered on Conan last night, the first single "Capsized" begins to take you down the path that Bird so carefully crafted on the record, speaking from an unguarded point of view while keeping with the melodic, syntactic standards that he has held true to since the beginning of his career. Listen to the first single "Capsized" via this playful lyric video based on Baldessari's distinctive album artwork (link up top). A special, limited edition box set will include among other things colored, 180g vinyl, and exclusive material on bonus 10" + 7" formats.
For more on the record, you can listen to his All Songs Considered interview with Bob Boilen (link below). Additionally, Bird has announced more show dates for his world tour with $1 for every ticket sold going to Everytown for Gun Violence, an organization that works to end gun violence to build safer communities. Beyond the album, Andrew's original musical score and distinctive whistling provide an offbeat décor to the brand new Zach Galifianakis comedy 'Baskets' airing on FX. Amidst the tour and all of the above, 2016 will prove to be a big year for Bird.
