BAT FOR LASHES is "In God's House"

SHARES "IN GOD'S HOUSE" VIDEO - PRESS HERE To Watch Now!
TICKETS FOR CHURCH SHOWS ON SALE TODAY Bat For Lashes has revealed the full clip for new single "In God's House," where we finally get a glimpse of The Bride and the beginnings of her story.  PRESS HERE  to watch the video which premiered via VICE i-D. Shot in the Californian desert at sunset, we find The Bride grieving at the grave of her lost fiancé, in a desperately sad and moving scene. The film was conceived by Natasha Khan and co-directed by John De Menil.

Last week Bat For Lashes announced the release of her latest album,  The Bride , via Parlophone/Warner Bros. Records and it will be out on July 1, 2016The Bride follows the story of a woman whose fiancé has been killed in a crash on the way to the church for their wedding. Written as the soundtrack for a feature length film in mind, The Bride is Khan's most ambitious work to date, sonically and visually incorporating an entire world inhabited by The Bride. The lush and striking artwork was conceived as a visual partnership between Natasha and Neil Krug (Lana Del Rey, Foals, First Aid Kit) The Bride's universe being the product of two years of collaboration and experimentation.

The Bride  was created and produced by Natasha Khan alongside a host of long-time collaborators and friends including Simone Felice, Dan Carey, Head and Ben Christophers. During its conception, Khan wrote and directed a short film entitled I Do, making its debut at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in NYC in April, the themes of which point to the new album. The Bride was created over the course of 18 months across London, Los Angeles, and Brighton. Finally last Autumn, Natasha headed to the mountains of Woodstock, NY, where she built a studio into the ground floor of a big old house and lived there for two months, finishing the record with co-producer Simone Felice (Lumineers, Felice Bros). The album was mixed by Head in London and mastered at Metropolis Studios.

Bat For Lashes will be playing select, special shows for The Bride in between festival appearances at Coachella and Governor's Ball. These intimate shows, set in churches throughout North America and England, will be the exclusive, first opportunity to hear The Brideperformed in full before it's released.  As such, The Bride invites all attendees of these special church shows to wear wedding/formal attire for the occasion. A portion of proceeds from these shows will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, whose mission is to bring Transcendental Meditation to at-risk populations around the world.

We Are Scientists Announce New Album 'Helter Selzter' Plus US Shows

We Are Scientists announce new album ‘Helter Seltzer’
to be released digitally April 22nd and physically June 3rd
via 100% Records
New single ‘Buckle’ available to stream and download
'Helter Seltzer' available for pre-order on CDVinyl and iTunes
US dates confirmed for May (more to follow)

We Are Scientists, the Brooklyn-based pop-rock troupe, are set to return April 22nd with their fifth album. Titled ‘Helter Seltzer’ and released via 100% Records (on CD, digital and limited edition teal-colored vinyl), it is preceded by the single and video release of ‘Buckle’, the album’s bombastic opening track. Available today for stream and download, the accompanying video sees carrot juice, egg yolks, and glass splash and spin through the air with gorgeous languor! “Most of our videos start with some kind of longstanding desire that we’re aiming to fulfil,” says We Are Scientists’ guitarist and vocalist Keith Murray. And well, I’d always wanted to dump food all over Chris’s face. Not in an angry way. I just thought it would be fun, and man, was I right.”
In order to capture the sloppiness in all its colorful detail, New York City director Jedidiah Mitchell turned to the Phantom Miro video camera, a highly specialized machine capable of shooting over 1,000 frames per second, in bursts a maximum of 5 seconds long. The results make an iPhone’s slow motion video look paltry by comparison.
For ‘Helter Seltzer’ We Are Scientists asked their ex-keyboard player, Max Hart, to produce. Max had just finished a three-year stint as the keyboardist for international super-mega-person Katy Perry, choosing as his final gig Ms. Perry’s performance at the 2015 Super Bowl. Max rented a studio space in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, outfitting it with gear he had accumulated over a decade of obsessive internet shopping. In early March, the team got to work. Sifting through the options, a direction emerged: they would use the tones and trickery of radio pop to add a sweet sheen to the new crop of distinctively We Are Scientists songs. Months of toil and trial and error finally brought the right balance, and the finished recordings were shipped to mixer Chris Coady at Sunset Sound in L.A. Coady has quietly emerged in recent years as one of the finest mixers of glossy indie pop, with credits that include Future Islands, Beach House, and !!!. In ‘Helter Seltzer’ he knew he had an album that should shimmer but also bang, and he applied all of the magic and sauce at his disposal to insure it did exactly that. Finally, the music was passed through the deluxe mastering machine that are the ears of Greg Calbi (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Noel Gallagher, Perfume Genius) to add a coat of heft and sparkle, and in January of 2016, nearly a year after construction began, the album was pronounced complete. "We've always made overtures toward being a pop band, but we've generally had the inclination to obscure those pop leanings in grit and chaos — to screw them up with fuzzed-out tones and raucous performances," says guitarist and vocalist Keith Murray"It's made us really think about what our musical genre is. We're not punk — we're too interested in making our songs as pretty as possible. We're not straight-up rock — our tastes are too left-of-centre. We're not indie-rock — our heads aren't far enough up our own butts. So finally, after putting as much time into thinking about it as we're apt to — about ten minutes, over beers — we decided that our genre is 'Helter Seltzer.'" "Declaring a new genre is obviously douchey as hell, though, and impossible to deliver with a straight face," adds bassist Chris Cain, "so we did the noble thing and just made ‘Helter Seltzer’ the album title. It's especially apt for usthese days, though. The songs here are more effervescent than we've ever managed to deliver, but they've stillmaintained a measure of that ‘Helter Skelter’ element — no matter how fizzy and refreshing the tunes are, they'vealways got a bit of that seamy, scuzzy, 'cult on Spahn Ranch' vibe. We therefore consider this album, as a vessel of both sweet pop tunes and seltzer outreach, to be a work of undisguised philanthropy on our part," concludes Chris.  ‘Helter Seltzer’ track-list1.Buckle2. Google PlaySean Tillmann has been making records under the name Har Mar Superstar since 1999.  Under the Har Mar moniker Sean has gone through a plethora of phases ranging from fun-loving beats-based music pioneer (he and Peaches shared stages early on) to angry arena crowd opener (public lewdness police records to prove it) to soul music crooner.  His last album Bye Bye 17 opened a lot of peoples’ minds to his songwriting prowess, which has existed since day one of his career.

For years Tillmann was an artist’s artist when The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Gossip, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many other legends decided to collaborate and/ or take him on tour.  Different phases of his career brought him fame through the fickle worlds of indie, British pop, LA DJ-dom, and New York night crawling.

Bye Bye 17 was an eye opener to the music world, not that Tillmann wasn’t used to accolades through his former work with Sean Na Na, Gayngs, Neon Neon, and Calvin Krime.  Sean had “arrived as a songwriter”.  After living in LA and NYC for 12 years, Sean moved back to Minneapolis, MN where he is most creative.  With the help of Chris Bierden (Polica, Bye Bye 17), Ryan McMahon (Har Mar, Lizzo), Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Adele, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, Cat Stevens), and Ryan Olson (Polica, Marijuana Deathsquads) Har Mar Superstar’s album “Best Summer Ever” was born.

Best Summer Ever since it’s inception has been imagined as a Greatest Hits of Har Mar Superstar from 1950-1985.  Tillmann was born in 1978.  Wrap your head around that, please.

Best Summer Ever is a slow burner with many ballads, dance-able tracks, and co-writes.  Long-time friend Julian Casablancas (Cult Records founder, The Strokes), Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Erykah Badu, Voidz, Weezer), and Tillmann worked very closely to make the concept happen.  Karen O, Matt Sweeney, and James Levy (Reputante, Lolawolf) all helped write songs on the record.  Bobby Charles wrote “I Hope”.   “Youth Without Love” was a demo written by Julian that was sitting around that Har Mar fell in love with, so they made it for the record.

Look out for Har Mar Superstar, now fronting a six-piece band complete with horns, touring worldwide this year.  The live show has always been a fun, sweat-soaked celebration of joy.  The man was born to rock a stage.  Join the party.

Don’t fake your love.

UK's Telegram Album Out TODAY + Free MP3 + 4 Nights in NYC

Telegram Release Debut Album
Operator  Today

Download + Share “Follow”

Additional New York Dates Announced

“Part glam, part punk, part reckless romantics.” – NME

★★★★- A dynamic, characterful Brit-rock band, with a Swansea accent and a love for Brian Eno’s mid-‘70s glam-pop material.” – Q Magazine

The eagerly awaited debut from UK’s Telegram Operator , is released today via Red Eye. To celebrate the release, single “ Follow ” has been made available for download. The album is a series of frenzied meditations on Time and Speed, steeped in the sensitivity and strangeness of Kurt Vonnegut and approached through the erstwhile themes of love and intoxication. Melding post industrialist kraut rock with garage rock and the best bits of Eno and Bolan, the record offers twelve luminescent tracks, rooted in solid grooves but anti-gravitational in your mind’s eye.

Following the band’s first SXSW run, Telegram will be taking their captivating live performance to New York City with four shows next week. The four-piece bring their new album to the stage with intoxicating intensity and a sense of controlled chaos. Matt Saunders (vocals, guitar), Oli Paget-Moon (bass) and Matt Wood (lead guitar) formed the band almost spontaneously in 2013. Wunderkind drummer Jordan Cook was recruited and, with a blistering run of shows, the band became extraordinarily tight. Moreover, they were made sensitive to the subtleties and extravagances of a good performance. Once the album was recorded, Pip Stakem took over lead guitar and the band embarked on their whirlwind global tour. Check out the album and be sure to catch the band at one of their New York shows next week.

Tour Dates:
3/21 – New York, NY at Mercury Lounge
3/23 – Brooklyn, NY at Baby’s All Right
3/24 – New York, NY at Pianos

Kill Rock Stars' Summer Cannibals Drop New Single, Nat'l Tour w/ The Thermals, 'Full Of It' LP Out 5/27

Summer Cannibals

Say My Name ” Unleashed By VICE’s Noisey Today!

3rd Full-Length LP, Full Of It, Out 5/27 via Kill Rock Stars

National Spring Tour with The Thermals

"On their sophomore album, the members of Summer Cannibals bring raw and driving guitar rock, with shredding from front woman Jessica Boudreaux and an attitude that honors the band’s namesake, a song performed by Patti Smith."
  NPR All Songs Considered

"The band’s latest zooms in with a series of robust guitar chugs, sharpening its already metallic edge."
— SPIN

"There are shades of late 90s Sleater-Kinney in the loud-quiet-loud of it all, not least in Boudreaux’s voice, snarling at all the right moments."
— VICE's Noisey

"The wicked wit of the lyrics, the roar of that guitar, and the melodies of sweet & sour confections such as ‘Something New,’ ‘Summer,’ ‘Not Your Turn,’ and the title track are thoroughly addictive."
— Sound Opinions, Jim DeRogatis

“Show Us Your Mind shows off how much the band has evolved in the short time it’s been together, with songs that refine the fuzzy garage-pop of its debut into something sharper, tighter, and much more difficult to shake off.”
 Entertainment Weekly

Portland rock band Summer Cannibals will release their 3rd full-length LP,  Full Of It , out May 27 on the legendary independent label Kill Rock Stars. Led by guitarist/vocalist Jessica Boudreaux and aided by a new powerhouse rhythm section of drummer Devon Shirley, bassist Jenny Logan and guitarist Marc Swart, the 11 songs spark with that perfect mix of snotty attitude, unbounded energy, and window rattling volume. The band will bring this energy to stages across North America as they join The Thermals on a national tour. Tickets are currently on sale HERE.

The four musicians keep their collective foot on the gas pedal, roaring through tunes like the previously shared jagged, wailing opening track “ Go Home ”. Today, VICE’s Noisey  reveals new album cut “ Say My Name ,” which simmers with a sweet melody and a powerful chorus commanding listeners to attention. We encourage you to post & share!

The new album Full Of It is the band’s defining statement to date. Recorded at the amazing analog recording studio The Dock with producer Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Wild Flag), the LP is one of those massive leaps forward that has defined the Summer Cannibals sound. Be sure to catch the band on tour & stay tuned for more exciting news coming soon!
