Today, Methyl Ethel have released the official music video for their single "Twilight Driving" in celebration of the global release of their debut album Oh Inhuman Spectacle. 
Hailing from the remote fringes of Perth, Western Australia, linchpin Jake Webb started Methyl Ethel in 2013 as a way of getting his bedroom recordings out in the public domain. Like 4AD peers Grimes and Bradford Cox (Deerhunter, Atlas Sound), Oh Inhuman Spectacle was crafted in isolation where Webb wrote, played and recorded everything, with fellow Perth residents Thom Stewart (bass) and Chris Wright (drums) recruited to bring the songs to life on stage.

You can read the full interview right here.  Methyl Ethel are currently playing a run of dates and festivals across the UK and Europe. The band will make their way back to the US in August to play Outside Lands in San Francisco and The Underground Music Showcase in Denver. A full rundown of dates can be found below.

Andrew Bird, the Illinois-born singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, who recently released his critically acclaimed record Are You Serious has announced a fall tour. Kicking off September 2nd/3rd atSeattle's Bumbershoot Festival and wrapping up October 15th in Providence, RI the 19 date tour will include a hometown Chicago show at the 10,000 + capacity Jay Pritzker Pavilion, an appearance at ACL Music Festival, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and many more (full dates below). May 20th, 2016:  Burbank, CA: Yesterday, Wu Tang Clan's RZA and Interpol's Paul Banks announced their plans for a musical collaboration under the name Banks & Steelz.  They released the first single "Love + War" feat. Ghostface Killah via Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show on Apple Music.  Today, Banks & Steelz released the video for "Love and War" directed by Arms Race via Pitchfork and inspired by Reservoir Dogs.   http://pitchfork.com/news/65572-rza-and-interpols-paul-banks-pay-tribute-to-reservoir-dogs-in-love-war-video/  "For love sometimes we find ourselves at war and the combatants may do anything to win," RZA says of the song. Casket Girls have announced a June co-headlining tour with Stardeath and White Dwarfs as part of the Graveface Road show. The upcoming tour will kick off on June 8th in Savannah and includes stops in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more. All upcoming shows are listed below. The Casket Girls leave the safety of their blackout curtain lair to roam an apocalyptic world, questioning the essence of humanity, where the dreamers, prophets and vampires of the old world, work together to forge a new path. Having gained praise for an emotive lyricism that belies her tender years, Billie Marten appeared on the BBC Sound of 2016 long list earlier this year.

Hailing from Ripon in North Yorkshire she has music in her blood, growing up listening to John Martyn, Laura Marling, David Bowie, Portishead and Loudon Wainwright, whom she saw in concert as a kid. At the age of eight, given a small, pink guitar and taught four chords by her dad, she wrote her first ‘proper’ song.
 
Billie’s songs are as remarkable for their beguiling beauty as for the age of their singer; “Milk & Honey” is no exception. With a vocal delicacy that outstrips her youth and lingers far beyond the notes it leaves behind, it’s “a song about the greed of people, the thoughts that we’re all sort of stuck in this consumerist frame of mind” she explains. In contrast Billie says of the video, “This video is not to be taken seriously at all, a little light heartedness in the whole scheme of things really.”

Inspired by the well-known Japanese fable, a Samurai warrior challenges a tea master to a duel. Speaking of the concept, award-wining filmmaker and director, Rob Brandon says, “I love this song, the lyrics remind me of one of my favourite fables and I think the theme of the lyrics match the fables characters in a really unique way."

Wendy Bevan is a British musician, visual/performing artist, and photographer. Her work spans an array of media including musical performance, film, visual imagery and immersive, experiential artworks. She strives to maintain a multidisciplinary approach to her work, and believes in creating a universal language and balance in the crossover of these disciplines; known for her surreal, etherial and theatrical, aesthetic Wendy has developed a unique cinematic world and style of her own.

Bevan has exhibited and performed as a solo musician/artist, throughout the UK and Europe. She has appeared at music and live arts festivals such as SPILL Festival of Performance,Latitude, and Secret Garden Party. Bevan has also performed at venues such as the ICA, and London’s Hackney Empire as a solo artist, and in recent years with her band Temper Temper working extensively as a performer, with theatre companies such as Punchdrunk; in their London shows, and their cult New York hit, Sleep No More.

Wendy is a singer and violinist and has collaborated and worked with music producers including Paul Simm (Neneh Cherry/Amy Winehouse), Howie B (Björk/Tricky). Her project  Saints Don’t Sleep, developed with producer Richard Frenneaux (Red Light Company/Laura Welsh) launched in 2015 at the IMPOSSIBLE SPACE in Paris. Wendy’s songs have since been synched on several feature film soundtracks, including her song "Hanging on the Wire" (2015) on the recent Reg Traviss brit gangster movie Anti-Social, and the Pacitti Company feature film, On Land Guard Point scored by Michael Nyman in 2012, saw her song "Starless Night"(Co-Written by David McAlmont) used within its main score.

This year her EP  Sweet Dedication  will be released, featuring two tracks from Wendy’s forthcoming debut album,  Rose and Thorn . Produced by Marc Collin of Nouvelle Vague,  Rose and Thorn  will be released on Kwaidan Records/!K7 Records in Fall 2016. In the wake of heros like Suicide and Kas Product, the minimal synth orientated project, mainly recorded on a Jupiter 8 and vintage drum machines features live strings arranged, and performed by the Balanescu Quartet. The much anticipated album is said to “take possession of your soul without you noticing”.

Wendy  is  a  visionary,  and  her  love  for  theatricality  is  ever  present  in  whatever  she  pursues.  The  World  of  Wendy  Bevan,  will  continue  to  mesmerise,  inspire  and  bewilder  audiences.
