Cyndi Lauper Continues 'Detour' Tour With Current Billboard Top 40 Country Album
CYNDI LAUPER CONTINUES 'DETOUR' TOUR WITH CURRENT BILLBOARD TOP 40 COUNTRY ALBUM
Music Icon Appears on TODAY with Kathy Lee & Hoda
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 14, 2016) – Grammy®, Emmy® and Tony®-winning singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper is continuing to take country music by storm with her Billboard Top Country Album DETOUR , which is still in the Top 40 and continues to spark sales at retailers nationwide like Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® and more! Lauper recently stopped by the TODAY show to chat with Kathy Lee and Hoda about DETOUR and her collaborations with country music greats, including Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Jewel, Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris. Click HERE to watch the clip.
Known best for her legendary pop icon status, Lauper is reigning in a new legion of fans with her new country-tinged album DETOURfeaturing a collection of country covers from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s (track listing below). DETOUR debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
"These songs had a profound impact on me when I was a little girl listening to my Aunt Gracie's kitchen radio in Queens. I grew up listening and admiring Patsy Cline, Patsy Montana, Hank Williams - all the greats from the Golden Age of country. It was an honor to record those beautiful songs for DETOUR and I am so thankful for the fans and the country music community for welcoming me with open arms," Lauper said.
Lauper just returned from the European leg of her DETOUR tour and is currently in the midst of the second leg of her U.S. tour which takes her along the west coast before wrapping up October 8 at The Joint in Las Vegas. In addition, Lauper’s annual “Home for the Holidays” concert is scheduled for December 3 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Additional details – including special guests performers - will be announced soon. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets before this highly anticipated tour sells out in your area!
Critics are raving about the pop star’s unique approach to country classics:
“The singer confidently twangs and yodels her way through covers of everyone from Patsy Montana to Patsy Cline.” Benjamin Lindsay, Vanity Fair
“Her new release, Detour, an album full of classic country song covers, is less an indicator of the veteran pop star’s desire to change genres than it is a sincere homage to a dozen tunes she grew up listening to on a transistor radio in her aunt’s kitchen and falling in love with.” – Chapman Baehler, Billboard Magazine
“Lauper and Norman native Vince Gill work together to cover ‘You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly,’ … The song is a rollicking and infectious version of the 1978 country B-side recorded by Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty.” Ben Luschen, Oklahoma Gazette

Neil Young Featured On The Big Interview With Dan Rather Tonight, September 13th On AXS TV

*** MEDIA ALERT *** NEIL YOUNG FEATURED ON THE BIG INTERVIEW WITH DAN RATHER TONIGHT, SEPTEMBER 13TH ON AXS TV
EARTH -OUT NOW ON REPRISE RECORDS TIME FADES AWAY , ON THE BEACH, TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT, AND ZUMA - REMASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES AND ARE ONCE AGAIN AVAILABLE ON STAND-ALONE VINYL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THEIR ORIGINAL 1970'S RELEASE NOW

September 13, 2016 - (Burbank, CA) - Neil Young will be featured on an episode of THE BIG INTERVIEW with DAN RATHER , tonight on the AXS TV. Click here for broadcast channels and times in your area. On this episode of THE BIG INTERVIEW, Young and Rather enjoy a rare in-depth, personal conversation about the life of Young, his concerns environmentally, politically, philosophically and explore a view into the creative process behind Young's new album EARTH . Click here for a preview. EARTH is out now and on triple vinyl, CD and digitally via Young's high-resolution audi PonoMusic Store and Tidal . One of Young's most unique and compelling albums to date, the media continues to praise EARTH thusly: "At 70, Young remains committed to taking risks. Young offers the chance to hear what he hears on EARTH that reflects his increasingly anxious view of our impact on the planet. It's one of his most unusual recordings of his long career. The animals that Young discovers in the sound of applause weave in and out of both the crowd and the music. At first their chatter provokes a smirk, but just a few songs in, they begin to resonate sympathetically. I suggest we keep Neil Young weird. " - TIME Magazine
"[EARTH] bristles with distortion like old Crazy Horse but delves much further...drone, feedback, blues licks, seismic buildup and sustained reflections, as eerie as it is noisy." - New York Times
"Neil Young big-ups Mother nature on an urgent career-spanning live album. These performances are more urgent, in point and force" - Rolling Stone
Also, as previously mentioned, Reprise Records has just reissued vinyl pressings of four seminal Neil Young albums from the 1970s : Time Fades Away , On The Beach , Tonight's The Night , and Zuma. This is the first time they have been reissued as stand-alone albums. Each one has been remastered from the original analog master studio recordings at Bernie Grundman Mastering. The artwork features historically accurate reproductions by Young's long-time art director, Gary Burden.

What people have said about Clipping’s Splendor & Misery:
“...A fervent, chaotic and uncommonly beautiful noise-rap allegory about slave rebellion and computer love told through a futurist narrative that takes place in outer space.” [Feature] - New York Times
“A magnificent, nerve-jangling and altogether rather riveting blast of unflinching white noise and throb, virtuoso rapping and, most improbable of all, richly romantic gospel-choir interludes designed as much to disconcert as to offer tuneful respite from and guidance through the surrounding sonic shrapnel.” [9/10, Album of the Week] - Loud & Quiet
“A hugely inventive slab of sonictheatre plotted to the tiniest detail..” [4/5] - MOJO
“Replete with sci-fi references and nudges to Afrofuturist musicians before them, the album confronts the crushing darkness inherent to the alienation of black diaspora and speculates on the identity as an intrinsically fluid process. Splendor & Misery is sincere and staunchly ambitious. With it, clipping. Have solidified their position at the forefront of experimental music.” [8.6/10] - Northern Transmissions
“The production, helmed by dual composers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes, make use of field recording techniques only instead of chimes and sampled radio alarms, the sharp clangs of breached hulls and airlocks closing are the content used to createthese paranoia inducing and dissonant instrumentals. What makes Splendor & Misery beckon for repeat listens, bar Daveed Diggs torrential flow, is how concise and dense the record is. It flows like a satellite in orbit, emerging over horizons witnessing serene beauty only to encounter disruptive asteroid belts moments later like the three ‘Interlude’ tracks where Daveed spits over broken and static-laced connections.” [8/10] - CLASH
“Utterly uncomfortable, but with such an imaginative foundation that you can't help but feel invited back to try to learn a little more about the strange and beautiful world of Clipping.” [8/10] - Under the Radar
“Spirits are present in clipping.'s video for "Air 'Em Out." We open on frontman Daveed Diggs settling in to another shift at his jumpsuit-requiring place of employment. As the beat builds, however, mysterious tremors start to unsettle Diggs and the litany of office supplies at his desk. It's another top-quality video from a group that has made a habit of just that, a simple idea perfectly executed.” [“Air ‘Em Out,” Best Videos of August 2016] - Pigeons & Planes
“"Baby Don't Sleep" is noisy, layered and absolutely frightening.” [“Baby Don’t Sleep”] - NPR Music
“Beatmakers Snipes and Hutson send you plummeting into the mainframe with a musique concrète cut-up beat of television fuzz and white noise. Negative space sucks the air out of your chest as Diggs raps in an arresting staccato, deconstructing the hegemony in a most deliberate manner: “Saviors are fiction / memories are fading like ghosts.” [“Baby Don’t Sleep”] - Passion of the Weiss
“This bangs, in the most enervating fashion possible.” [“Baby Don’t Sleep”] - Stereogum

Ash & Ice Out Now on Domino
The Kills (Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart) released their fifth full-length album, Ash & Ice earlier this summer. Today, the band shares their music video for "Impossible Tracks," which was directed by Ellis Bahl.
Alison says about the video: "Introducing our new video for IMPOSSIBLE TRACKS! Shot by director Ellis Bahl, at Luna Park- the old weird and wonderful amusement park of dreams and nightmares so iconic to Melbourne Australia. We'd always wanted to shoot there, so on our last tour down under, we took this fine opportunity.
Welcome to off season... winter time, blistering bitter cold, the park to ourselves all day and night. The lights buzzing, the gears cranking, a hallucinatory stream of whiplash and spin. We shot between bursts of monsoon weather and crooked wind, we rode the rides, played the games, and lost ourselves in the mirror house. Enter in, the guts of the park, through the mouth of lights, Luna's pearly teeth, past the big bad gaze of those glowing blue eyes... Buckle your belts and take the ride on impossible tracks."

AUTOLUX SETS RELEASE DATE FOR LIVE AT THIRD MAN RECORDS LP
AUTOLUX SETS RELEASE DATE FOR LIVE AT THIRD MAN RECORDS LPListen to "Brainwasher" (track 4 off the live record), and pre-order now:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg2JXzZPqig&feature=youtu.be
Third Man Records has a theory: It's impossible not to like Autolux. Because Carla Azar. Because of the soundtrack-of-the-otts symphony of their first two records. Because of their recent release PUSSY'S DEAD , which sounds more like the future than the score to TRON. Because two of the band's members met while composing the music for a Nobel-prize winner's play. Because Danger Mouse's 30th Century Records is their new label home (and we love us some Danger Mouse.) Following that logic, it's impossible not to also like Autolux's first live record, captured direct-to-acetate on Third Man Records' 1955 Scully lathe on March 26th, 2016.
Eugene Goreshter, Greg Edwards, and Carla Azar made the Blue Room stage feel small that evening, Azar standing atop her drum throne, projections kaleidoscoping on the acoustic tiling behind them. It was one of their first live shows together in the years since their last record, Transit Transit, was released (in 2010), the in between of which saw each band member pursuing other worthy projects. No time to lose, the band's cohesion was immediate, their sense-of-self solid, and their energy infectious.
Some of the best tracks of PUSSY'S DEAD made it into this live set, to the delight of the ecstatic Nashville audience that Saturday night: "Soft Scene," "Anonymous," "Brainwasher," to name a few. Combine with a few well-placed gems from their previous releases ("Plantlife!" "Blanket!"), and the result is one of the most fun (and one of the more nuanced) records in the Third Man Live catalog.
Autolux Live at Third Man Records is officially out and available at a record store near you on September 30th, 2016. .
