The Big Moon Announce US Tour + Cover of "Beautiful Stranger"

UK'S THE BIG MOON ANNOUNCE FIRST EVER NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
LISTEN HERE TO THE BIG MOON'S COVER OF "BEAUTIFUL STRANGER"

"London's coolest new guitar-wielding girl gang." - NOISEY
"A band not waiting for anyone or anything to make them who they are" - NPR
Ever since CMJ 2015, U.S. fans have been patiently waiting for the return of The Big Moon- one of the UK's most buzzed-about bands. Today, the band announces their first ever North American tour beginning November 21st. Highlights include a two night stint Brooklyn's Baby's All Right on November 22nd and 23rd, DC9 in Washington D.C. and a final show at The Echo in Los Angeles on December 7th. All tour dates are in support of The Japanese House. A full list of tour dates are below.
The Big Moon have also just unveiled their cover of Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger," via Rookie. The cover has been an unmissable part of the band's live shows as they've torn through venues and festivals this year. Now their high-octane cover of Madonna's 1999 hit has been paired with their most recent single, "Silent Movie Susie" and is available to listen to online. "Silent Movie Susie" was produced by Catherine Marks at Assault & Battery Studios in London.
LISTEN TO "BEAUTIFUL STRANGER" HERE - CLEARED TO POST  "Silent Movie Susie" also received a hilarious music video treatment in the form of a NSFW animated video from the band and director Louis Bhose - the same mind behind the paint-throwing carnage of the last video, "Cupid." It's their humor, coupled with the band's fervent live show that has had them crushing tours and winning over audiences in 2016. Don't miss them while they're here in the states.

The Dazies Announce New EP 'Hungover And Weird,' Stream "Little Things"

Photo Credit: Erin ShawThe Dazies Announce New EP Hungover And Weird,
Stream Lead Single "
Little Things "

West Coast Tour Kicks Off on September 23rd

Boston's The Dazies is led by M. Holland, who previously played drums in and toured with bands like Tulsa (Park The Van Records), Mean Creek (Old Flame Records), and Trabants (Lollipop Records.) He began his new project as a solo endeavor, acting as a one-man band and occasionally bringing in members of other local groups to play on Dazies releases.

Now, The Dazies are getting ready to release new EP Hungover And Weird, which features multi-instrumentalist and engineer Kurt Schneider on bass. The six-song EP is due out on October 14th, and for an early taste, you can stream opening track " Little Things ." The Dazies' sound is best described as high-energy, heart-on-sleeve punk rock: it's loud and sincere. Holland has kept busy since starting the project in 2013, releasing two EPs and a handful of singles, working with producer David Minehan (The Replacements) on 2015's Love/Joy EP, and playing shows with bands like Parquet Courts and Gringo Star.

Hungover And Weird has been a long time coming, with sessions for the EP beginning in December 2014 and capturing the raw energy of two friends playing honest & fun rock 'n' roll without taking themselves too seriously. Holland & Schneider revisited the collection of songs this year, eager to finally share them with fans.

The band heads out on a string of West Coast dates later this week, returning to Boston for a hometown show in October. See below for a list of upcoming shows.

New Warpaint Track "Whiteout" Debuts Today

NEW WARPAINT TRACK “WHITEOUT” DEBUTS TODAY HEADS UP  OUT SEPTEMBER 23 ON
ROUGH TRADE RECORDS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR KICKS OFF TODAY[image error] [image error]Warpaint debut “Whiteout,” the second track from their highly anticipated third album  Heads Up , today—listen here and buy/stream hereHeads Up is out this Friday, September 23.Warpaint’s extensive North American tour kicks off tonight at Seattle’s Showbox, with further dates October 7 and 8 in New York, October 13 in Los Angeles, November 12 in Nashville, November 17 in Austin and many more. Facial, Goldensuns and VS Colour will support on select dates. See below for full tour details. The first single “New Song” recently premiered at radio as the #1 most added song at AAA and Alternative formats and debuted to widespread critical praise:[image error]“The moody L.A. rockers[’]…dubby grooves and sinewy guitars here evoke a predatory glide through the Southern California night.”[image error]“easily the poppiest thing they've ever done and probably the
catchiest too - just try not singing it for the rest of the day,
even if you only hear the chorus once.”[image error]“more driving and immediate than almost anything they’ve put out before.”[image error]“the kind of song that Warpaint have always excelled at:
poppy and danceable, but never too predictable.”[image error]“As ever their harmonies are goosebump-inducing, the bass provides the
funked up backbone, and Emily and Theresa’s interlocking guitars
dance together in delicious synchronicity.”Heads Up was recorded after the band spent 2015 apart working on solo projects and their own endeavors. Reuniting in January of this year, the band invited producer Jacob Bercovici—with whom they had worked on their debut EP Exquisite Corpse—into their House on the Hill studio in Downtown Los Angeles to begin work on the new LP. For the first time ever, the band recorded in pairs and alone rather than as a full band, allowing for a new creative freedom. The band also reworked their live sound to reflect their critically acclaimed live performances. “We’ve always had this really jammy, high-energy live show compared to some of our records,” says vocalist and guitarist Emily Kokal. “We all love to dance. We didn’t want to take away from the emotion or the core feeling of what our band is all about—which I don’t even think we could take out if we wanted, because it is who we are—but we wanted to bump the speed up and have a little bit more fun.”Warpaint is Emily Kokal (guitar, vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, vocals), Stella Mozgawa (drums, vocals) and Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocals). Heads Up follows their critically beloved debut EP Exquisite Corpse, 2010’s The Fool and 2014’s Warpaint.WARPAINT LIVE*with Facial and Goldensuns†with Facial‡with Goldensuns and VS ColourSeptember 19                                             Seattle, WA                                            The Showbox*September 20                                           Vancouver, BC                                 Imperial Vancouver*September 21                                             Portland, OR                                       Wonder Ballroom*

RECORD OUT OCTOBER 7 ON AUTUMN TONE

ON TOUR THIS FALL WITH LA SERA
Springtime Carnivore has released "Midnight Room," the beautifully melancholic title track from her forthcoming second album. The ballad finds Greta Morgan mourning, "My heart became a stone / On the night I left / I wonder as I wake up alone / Has it hit the bottom yet?"
LISTEN TO "MIDNIGHT ROOM"
Midnight Room will be released on October 7 via Autumn Tone Records. The album is available for deluxe pre-order now.
Praise for previous singles "Face In The Moon" & "Raised By Wolves":
"A summery dream... The effervescent 'Face In The Moon' showcases Springtime Carnivore's Jenny Lewis-meets-Beach House pop folk sound, and is a fitting first single for an album whose energy Morgan says was gleaned from the stars." - The Fader
"'Raised by Wolves' is a sprightly pop number, with the perfect pinch of melancholy and a smidge of Rod Stewart's 'Young Turks.'" - Noisey
"A shimmering desert dream of a song." - W Magazine (on "Face In The Moon")
"'Face in the Moon' is an industrious track, with Morgan's vocals easily soaring above the spirited piano and tireless drumbeat." - Paste

New Album Care Out This Friday on Domino; Tour Also Starts Friday in Chicago

The songs grapple with the complexities of grown-up love, with human frailties and traumas, with harsh circumstances, self-doubt and glimmers of compassion and hope."

Morphine "Journey of Dreams" documentary coming in October

Morphine "Journey Of Dreams"on DVD 10/21 and VOD 10/18
The in-depth tale of the "low-rock" nineties Boston band who blazed like a comet across the global music scene....
Upcoming screenings and performances in NYC and LA The Boston-born "Low Rock" band Morphine blazed like a comet across the international music scene in the 1990s, rising from local small clubs to indie and major label record deals, high and wide critical acclaim, and packed shows until their untimely demise. The trio's unique and mesmeric sound continues to resonate with its fans and music lovers as the group ascends to legendary if not iconic status. The documentary is the definitive, in-depth tale of this unique musical act's compelling career and life together and their resonant musical creativity.   Journey of Dreams   doesn't just get behind the music but inside the band as its story is primarily told by the trio's surviving members, saxophonist Dana Colley and drummers Billy Conway and Jerome Dupree plus the close-knit familial coterie that worked with them as well as Sandman's girlfriend Sabine Hrechdakian. It's punctuated by incisive commentary and observations from such friends and admirers of the group as Henry Rollins, Joe Strummer and Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. A wealth of live performance footage gathered from across Morphine's career recalls and amplifies the band's innovative yet at the same time classic, timeless and "beautifully bottom-heavy" sound, as Rolling Stone praised it. Viewers ride and fly along with the hard- touring band's road experiences, vibrantly brought to life as Colley reads from his tour diaries at key points in the film as well as through his accompanying Polaroid pictures and Super 8 films.
Journey of Dreams  is not just a tale of music business struggle, triumph and tragedy, but also a love story - among its members and team as well as Sandman and Hrechdakian - as well as an adventure, drama, travelogue, and something of a roller coaster ride. Plus, when all is told, an evocative and loving tribute to a rock band that was like no other.
The DVD can be ordered now at the  MVD Shop or on Amazon.

Ablebody - 'Adult Contemporaries'

Ablebody - 'Adult Contemporaries'Street Date, October 14th, 2016, Lolipop Records

Ablebody is an LA-based duo comprised of identical twins Christoph and Anton Hochheim (members of The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart / The Depreciation Guild). They've been quietly releasing music under this moniker since 2013, self-releasing an EP and 7" single, crafting remixes and demoing original material as well as a myriad of covers.Their debut full length record Adult Contemporaries will be released by Lolipop Records on October 14, 2016. Stream the album's latest single " Gaucho " on  SoundCloud  and watch the music video on  YouTube .
Drawing from the raw grandeur of the 60's, the melodicism of soft 70s pop and the sophisticated side of romantic 80s synth pop, Ablebody stand suspended between decades; students of the past but far from retro fetishists. Their musical prowess is evident but the songwriting remains tastefully direct at all times, with arrangements that bend and move in surprising ways but tastefully blanket the overarching sentiment of the songs in a way that we rarely hear in this decade. The duo have recently taken their sound from the bedroom to the studio, working with producer/engineer Kenny Gilmore (Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti) to craft songs with a more visceral edge than they've explored in the past. Daniel Rosenbaum (Pomar) and Jordan Sabolick (Mt. Ossa) have joined the duo to help bring the songs to life and add new dimension to the live dynamic.
