Hans Zimmer Receives Rave Reviews at Coachella Ahead of World Tour

HANS ZIMMER RECEIVES RAVE REVIEWS AT COACHELLA AHEAD OF WORLD TOUR ZIMMER'S PERFORMANCE OFFERED A SNEAK PEEK AT WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED FROM HIS UPCOMING CONCERT DATES IN U.S. AND BEYOND HANS ZIMMER PERFORMING 'INCEPTION' LIVE AT COACHELLA ft Nile Marr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv4LfRJXf5w&feature=youtu.be
"A packed, totally enthralled crowd flooding the outdoor stage. Thundering drums, ethereal vocals, a surprise Pharrell Williams cameo. A triumphant turn from an EDM superstar? Nope. Just film composer Hans Zimmer absolutely devastating a Coachella crowd that had no idea what it was in for." - THE LOS ANGELES TIMES "Hans Zimmer is the new (Lion) King of the festival circuit." - YAHOO! MUSIC "Zimmer oozes energy from every position he takes onstage, oscillating between instruments with shocking seamlessness, never glancing at a single sheet of music, and betraying himself as a kinetic and passionate musician with a knack for storytelling." - ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY - Video embed code and hi-res photo links at the end of this release -

INDIO, CA (April 18, 2017) - Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer took Coachella by storm on Sunday evening, dazzling a crowd of tens of thousands of fans and trending on Twitter. The appearance by Zimmer, who will be touring the U.S., Australia, and Europe this summer, was a first of its kind for the popular music festival with the legendary composer bringing a full orchestra with him to the desert venue. Zimmer's set featured music spanning his multi-decade career including music from THE LION KING, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, THE DARK KNIGHT and INCEPTION. The famed composer, whose concerts are famous for their special guests, was also joined on stage by his frequent collaborator Pharrell Williams to perform Williams' hit song "Freedom". Audience members at the festival and those watching Zimmer's show stream online took to social media to praise the set for standing out as a highlight of the weekend and for the epic nature of the performances. "I am overwhelmed by the response to our Coachella performance this past weekend," stated Zimmer. "It was certainly nerve inducing to perform at a festival of this level with so many amazing artists who are household names, but the crowd who came to our set was unlike anything I have experienced with an orchestral performance before. I can't wait to see the rest of the crowds this summer on tour." Music fans can catch him on the summer leg of his US concert experience ' Hans Zimmer Live on Tour 2017 . Kicking off in Dallas, TX at the Verizon Theater on July 13th, Zimmer's summer tour will visit 18 cities including two nights at Radio City Music Hall in New York on July 25th and 26th and will conclude at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, CA on Aug. 12th. Tickets are on sale now. The summer tour will follow Zimmer's three previously announced dates on the west coast including the recent show at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on April 14thand the upcoming Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on April 19th and The Park Theater in Las Vegas on April 21st. Zimmer will return to Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on August 11th. 'Hans Zimmer Live on Tour 2017' is a multi-layered experience for concertgoers and a must-see concert event, featuring career-spanning music from Zimmer's multi-decade career. The European version of the tour, 'Hans Zimmer Revealed', kicked off earlier this year with a sold-out two-night run at London's Wembley Arena before embarking on a 33-city run that included shows in major European cities including London, Paris, Munich, Prague, Geneva, Dublin and Vienna to name just a few. The tour received rave reviews in every city. The concert will be in two parts: the first being some of Zimmer's classic movie scores including GLADIATOR, THE LION KING and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, and the second featuring re-imagined versions of some classic scores such as THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY and INCEPTION with special guests from the rock and pop world. Youth Code have come together with Chelsea Wolfe and George Clarke (Deafheaven) to create a crushing remix of their Commitment to Complications album track "Lost At Sea." It has been released this afternoon digitally as a Bandcamp exclusive with all proceeds going directly to Planned Parenthood.
Youth Code had this to say regarding the track:
"To have such amazing artists come together to collaborate on such a deeply personal song is an absolute dream come true. Thematically the song is pretty transparent as it deals with feelings of loss and frustration that there is no hope for any redemption in the future. We would like to donate all the proceeds of this song to Planned Parenthood in hopes that people in need of these resources can continue to attain them without ever having to feel lost or frustrated with taking care of their reproductive health."

NPR Announces New Sarah Jaffe Album w/Exclusive Song & Video Premiere!
Sarah Jaffe Announces 'Bad Baby,' Her New Album And Video
April 18, 201710:00 AM ET | STEPHEN THOMPSON
With 2014's Don't Disconnect, Sarah Jaffe took an artistic left turn, shifting her sound from melancholy singer-songwriter fare to fizzier, more mysterious electro-pop. With its catchy, fascinating songs about the parallels between humanity and machinery, Don't Disconnect captures the sound of a performer sliding cleanly into her best artistic identity. On July 7, the Texan will return with Bad Baby, whose title track suggests that Don't Disconnect was no mere detour: The song chugs and pulsates to maximally infectious effect, enhanced by a swirl of synths and smooth guitar lines. In recent years, Jaffe has dabbled in hip-hop and film scoring, and her sonic palette has never seemed broader.

Sarah Jaffe Announces New Full-Length Studio Release Bad Baby with
NPR
Premiere of Title Track Music Video – Album out July 7th via Kirtland Records
New York, NY – April 18, 2017 – Texas native Sarah Jaffe is excited to be releasing her fourth full-length studio album – Bad Baby – on July 7th, 2017 via Kirtland Records. With the help of NPR , Jaffe dropped the news today via an exclusive premiere of the music video for the title track – click HERE or cover art above to watch the clip that features the work of photographer Lindsey Byrnes and artist John Lisle . The video is much like the album, a collaborative effort between talented and passionate new and old friends. “I’m so pleased with this record and I’m especially proud that it was a communal effort,” said Jaffe.
For Bad Baby, Jaffe fleshed the songs out with the help of several trusted musicians that have become part of her inner circle. She entered the studio at the end of last year to record these songs with Matt Pence who co-produced the album alongside Jaffe and Scott Solter (Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats, John Vanderslice). Jaffe’s vision went beyond just the music and once the album was recorded, she reached out to Brooklyn based illustrator John Lisle to help with the art. Once they had hashed out the concept, the two met up in NYC where they were joined by the incredible Lindsey Byrnes, who provided the images that would become the foundation for the album artwork. From your first listen, the songs on Bad Baby instantly come alive and the new album sees Jaffe further exploring layered arrangements and continuing her evolution as a songwriter and musician.
Jaffe started her career when she was just 22 years old and the Texas native has had a creatively rich run as both a songwriter and a recording artist. She’s released three critically acclaimed studio albums, she contributed her eerily haunting vocal to the Disney/Pixar short The Blue Umbrella scored by Jon Brion and she started a side project called The Dividends with Grammy award winning producer S1 which led to her co-writing and singing on a Grammy award winning track for Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 album and the release of the Far From Away Vol. 1 EP .
As a recording artist in her own right, Jaffe has earned accolades from the likes of NPR , New York Times , Vogue , SPIN , USA Today , ELLE , Noisey , Nylon , Billboard , Marie Claire and more, graced the cover of the Dallas Observer twice and made her Late Night TV Debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In addition, she’s toured the US extensively both on her own and supporting artists such as Cyndi Lauper, The Polyphonic Spree, Astronautalis, Norah Jones, and Patty Griffin. This past fall she completed her second solo tour of Europe and she’s performed at a number of major music festivals including Made In America and SummerFest.
Look for Bad Baby on July 7th via Kirtland Records.
