Low Roar's New Album

NEW ALBUM FROM LOW ROARONCE IN A LONG, LONG WHILE...OUT NOW VIA NEVADO MUSICCONGRATULATIONS TO LOW ROAR, WHOSE NEW ALBUM IS OUT NOW!The project under which brilliant artist, Ryan Karazij, records has released full-length Once in a Long, Long While... today via Nevado Music.
STREAM IT HERE
Low Roar is touring North America in support of the new album.Catch 'em with San Fermin. All tour dates listed below.Low Roar Bio:Once In A Long While... is the follow up to 2014's O which earned Karazija a large new audience after his music was discovered by iconic Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima who used Low Roar's "I'll Keep Coming" and "Easy Way Out" on two high-profile 2016 trailers for his Death Stranding video game starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and director Guillermo del Toro.
Born in the Bay Area to a mother of Mexican descent and a Lithuanian father, the frontman spent his formative years playing in bands around Northern California before relocating to Iceland in 2010 where he recorded Low Roar's self-titleddebut in his Reykjavik kitchen. Quietly building buzz, he cut the critically acclaimed follow-up, 0, in a converted garage in 2014 before going on to grace the stages of ATP, Eurosonic, Airwaves France, The Great Escape, Lowlands, Iceland Airwaves, and beyond.
After touring the world in support of O, Karazija spent most of 2016 by himself-traveling everywhere from Iceland, Sweden, and Poland to the Bay Area and Mexico before settling permanently in Warsaw. During this time, he carefully assembled what has become his third full-length record.  "I was alone for most of the process," Ryan affirms. "It was nice to go to all of these spots. There were a lot of great things that happened, and there were a lot of bad things that happened. There were really beautiful moments like the birth of my nephew, and there were really hard moments such as going through relationship changes. It helped to get it all out. I don't think I would've made the same record if I was in one place."
In the midst of his travels, he entered a London studio for a week in April 2016 with longtime collaborator Mike Lindsay [Tunng]. Recording wrapped with a final three-day session at producer/mixer Andrew Scheps' [Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Hozier] Wales studio at the end of August.
"This was the first time I really recorded in a professional studio with these guys," he goes on. "In addition, it was the first time that Mike, Andrew, and myself all worked in the same room together. When the record was done, we turned the lights off, put the Christmas lights on, listened, and each had a bourbon. It was pretty emotional."
Penned in Mexico, today's single "Bones" begins with a delicate piano punctuated by glitches as Ryan sings, "I'm exactly where I want to be, but I'm a long way from home." As the beat builds, he duets with Icelandic songstress Jófríður Ákadóttir, yielding a haunting and heavenly harmony.
"I was in Sweden until March 1st, [2016] and I wound up in Warsaw, Poland, which brought me full circle," he recalls. "A recent relationship had just ended. 'Bones' tells this story. You're in a relationship, and you don't want it to end, but your significant other does. That's the way it is."
Ultimately, Once In A Long Long While... reflects Low Roar at Ryan's rawest. "I didn't think that much about it," he leaves off. "I just needed to get these songs out. I was documenting my life as it was happening."Low Roar on Tour with San Fermin:

FLINT EASTWOOD — RELEASES BROKE ROYALTY EP ON NEON GOLD RECORDS FEATURING GRiZ COLLABORATION “REWIND"

Today, Detroit’s Flint Eastwood (Jax Anderson) releases her hotly-anticipated  Broke Royalty EP  here via Neon Gold Records (Christine And The Queens, Charli XCX) and headlines a hometown release show atDetroit’s historic Fisher Building, kicking off a US tour that includes Sasquatch, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest and Lollapalooza this spring + summer (tour dates below).
The EP is highlighted by lead single, “Rewind”, featuring fellow Detroit-native and electronic heavyweight GRiZ, which premiered today via This Song Is Sick, who writes: "Refreshing...Flint Eastwood, has been on the rise with undeniably unique tracks"
Anderson elaborates: “Rewind is about the innocence of youth. When you're young, like little kid young, you have such an honest and untainted perspective on life. It's a beautiful thing. It's a time when love is just love, no labels or expectations, and all you care about is having fun and living life to the fullest.
I originally wrote this track as a hail mary for GRiZ's last record. He hit me up a few days before they were starting to mix "Good Will Prevail" about an instrumental he really wanted on the record, but it needed a vocalist. I was touring at the time and pretty much the only time I could finish it was way early in the morning the day before it was due. I got in the studio and knocked it out in about 2 hours with my collaborator, SYBLYNG. Grant loved it, but it ultimately didn't fit the vibe of his record. A few months later I got a text from Grant saying I should release it on my new EP, and I was in.”
Additionally, the EP finds production support from MUTEMATH’s Paul Meany, as well as a track with principal BØRNS collaborator Tommy English.
In January, Flint Eastwood’s empowerment anthem “Queen” was released ahead of the Women’s Marches across the nation.  In March, she was hailed as one of the breakout acts of SXSW.  Following the conference, Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 declared her “absolutely incredible” ahead of his world premiere of “Push” featuring Tunde Olaniran. Listen HERE.
Jax has always been carving out her own path.  In 2015, she helped co-found Assemble Sound, a collaboration studio space for Detroit musicians to meet, find resources, and ultimately create good art. They raised funds, purchased a church from the 1870’s, and renovated it as a community. This is the space where Flint Eastwood writes and records her music, the space that sparked the idea for Broke Royalty.
