Sigur Rós release THC-infused gumdrops / livestreaming LA Phil show this Friday

SIGUR RÓS ANNOUNCE LIVESTREAM OF PERFORMANCE WITH LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC THIS FRIDAYRELEASING LIMITED-EDITION, CANNABIS-INFUSED GUMDROP COLLABORATION WITH LORD JONES
This Friday, April 14, Sigur Rós will live-stream their very special performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic via Pitchfork, who will stream the concert live on their homepage and Facebook Live. The concert is one of three sold out performances with the LA Philharmonic taking place at at theWalt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles this week, the band's first time performing original music with a full orchestra. The event will feature a 50-minute set of Sigur Rós performing with the orchestra, followed by a second 50-minute set of the band performing as an unaccompanied trio. The orchestral set features unreleased songs as well as new arrangements by several esteemed guests, including Dan Deacon, Owen Pallett, Nico Muhly, Anna Meredith, and more. The show is slated to start at 9:00 pm PST/12:00 am EST. 
State the band: "This is all new ground for us. It's been 15 years since we last played with an orchestra, and that wasn't even Sigur Rós songs. The shows at the Disney Hall sold out fast, and only 4,500 people can get to experience it in the room. So we thought it would be good to let anyone who couldn't get tickets and people around the world have the opportunity to see how all it comes together. There's just one chance for us to rehearse with the L.A. Phil ahead of time, so in all honesty we have no idea how this is going to go, but we promise it will be exciting."
The band have also teamed with leading cannabis brand Lord Jones for a collaboration: limited-edition, 'Wild Sigurberry' medicated gumdrops. Brooklyn DIY duo Sharkmuffin is claiming the sci-fi world’s premiere skeptic as one of their own in “Scully is a Sharkmuffin”.  The track makes its debut today via The Big Takeover. Explains the band:
 
“’Scully is a Sharkmuffin’ is our ode to The X-Files. It’s the only track on Tsuki that is mostly improvised and was recorded live. The lyrics are taken from The X-Files opening theme: ‘The truth is out there. I want to believe. The government lies.’”

SPRING TOUR DATES WITH THE SADIES AS HIS BACKING & SUPPORT BAND ANNOUNCED   Justin Townes Earle is set to release his New West Records debut Kids In The Street on May 26th. The 12-song set was produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, First Aid Kit) at his ARC Studios, and is the first time in his career that Earle has worked with an outside producer.  Kids In The Street marks a decade into Earle’s recording career and follows his acclaimed companion albums Single Mothers (2014) and Absent Fathers (2015).  The deeply soulful set is both emotionally riveting and effortlessly uplifting.  Now embracing sobriety, marriage, and impending fatherhood, Earle is enthusiastically looking to the future. “Life has changed a lot for me in the last few years,” Earle reflects. “I got married and am getting ready to become a father, and this is the first record that I’ve written since I’ve been married. There’s definitely an uplifting aspect to this record in a lot of ways, because I’m feeling pretty positive.” He continues, “When I wrote songs in the past, I was looking in on what I was feeling, but this record’s more about looking outward on what’s happening, and writing about subjects like gentrification and inner city strife. This record also has more of a soul influence to it, and it’s got a deeper connection to the blues than anything I’ve done before.” UPROXX premiered the album track “Faded Valentine” today and hailed Kids In The Street as Earle’s “finest record to date.” Read the feature and listen to the new song HERE.  Vice’s music site Noisey previously premiered the album opener, “Champagne Corolla,” which can be heard HERE.  Kids In the Street will be available digitally, as well as compact disc and vinyl.  The album is now available for pre-order via PledgeMusic including an exclusive, limited edition colored vinyl version of the LP, cassette tape, and a special 7” single including “Maybe A Moment” as well as Earle’s reading of Paul Simon’s “Graceland.”
Several of the songs on Kids On The Street reference the lower-middle-class Nashville neighborhoods of Earle’s youth, which in recent years some say have lost their character to the creeping scourge of gentrification.  Significantly, the album is the first of Earle’s not recorded in Nashville.  “It’s the first time that I’ve worked outside of my usual umbrella of people to make a record,” Earle explains, adding “In Nashville, if you have the right connections, it’ll spoil the shit out of you, because you’ve got access to the best musicians in the world and the best studios in the world. If you had told me when I started making records, that I wasn’t gonna make every record in Nashville, I would have told you you were crazy.  And if you’d told me that I’d end up making a record in Omaha, I’d tell you you were out of your freaking mind.”  
Earle’s fierce fidelity to his creative muse has been a consistent thread throughout his young life. Born in Nashville on January 4th, 1982, he grew up as the son of country-rock iconoclast Steve Earle, who gave him his middle name in honor of his mentor, the brilliant songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Justin quickly came into his own as a songwriter and performer, displaying a natural talent for deeply revealing lyrics that reflected his often-harsh life experiences, and a musical approach that effortlessly integrated elements of blues, folk, and country. His 2007 debut EP Yuma set the stage for a steady stream of acclaimed albums.  
Justin Townes Earle will take to the road this Spring with his longtime guitarist Paul Niehaus alongside The Sadies as his backing band (they will also support each show). First album of its kind for Wilco leader features intimate recordings of songs by Wilco, Loose Fur and Golden SmogApril 13, 2017 — Easthampton, MA — Songwriter Jeff Tweedy will release Together At Last, a new solo acoustic collection, June 23 on dBpm Records. Recorded at Tweedy’s Chicago studio The Loft, the album features intimate renditions of 11 songs previously released by Wilco and by Tweedy’s occasional side projects Loose Fur and Golden Smog.  It is the first in a proposed series – Loft Acoustic Sessions – where Tweedy revisits his vast catalog of work, which spans three decades and more than 20 albums.

Together at Last is available now for preorder from the Wilco store with an instant download of “Laminated Cat,” a song that originally appeared on the 2003 self-titled debut album by Loose Fur, Tweedy’s project with Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and musician Jim O’Rourke. Other songs on Together At Last include new versions of Wilco classics like “Via Chicago” and  “I Am Trying To Break Your Heart” as well as less familiar tunes like “In A Future Age” from Wilco’s 1999 album Summerteeth.
