Lovely Creatures: The Best of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 1984 – 2014

Lovely CreaturesThe Best of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 1984 – 2014Out May 5th 2017NEW DVD CLIP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qmzr53-MGgHiding All Away – Lovely Creatures: The Best of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds DVD“There are some people out there who just don’t know where to start with The Bad Seeds. Others know the catalogue better than I do! This release is designed to be a way into three decades of music making. That’s a lot of songs. The songs we have chosen are the ones that have stuck around, for whatever reason. Some songs are those that demand to be played live. Others are lesser songs that are personal favorites of ours. Others are just too big and have too much history to leave out. And there are those that didn’t make it, poor things. They are the ones you must discover by yourselves.” Nick Cave Lovely Creatures  is the most comprehensive overview of the recorded work of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds to date. Spanning thirty years of music from their debut album  From Her To Eternity  through to  Push The Sky Away  their 15th studio album, the collection navigates one of the most exhilarating, idiosyncratic and inventive bodies of work created in contemporary music.Included are long-standing live favorites “Stagger Lee” and “The Mercy Seat”, their hit single from 1995 “Where The Wild Roses Grow” through to recent fan favorites “Jubilee Street” and “We No Who U R”. There are songs that newcomers may only know from their appearance on film and television soundtracks, notably “O Children” (Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt. I)  and the ubiquitous “Red Right Hand”, most recently familiar to fans of the series Peaky Blinders. The album was compiled by Nick Cave and founding member Mick Harvey, with help from the current Bad Seeds. Band members past and present raided their personal archives to provide previously unseen photos and memorabilia which have been collected into a beautiful hardcover book, along with a series of original essays. The book is available as part of the limited edition ‘Super Deluxe’ album collection that also comes with a two hour DVD containing rare and unseen archive footage.  Lovely Creatures  is available in four formats, all featuring personal and rare photographs of the band:  Standard CD, Triple LP, Deluxe 3CD with DVD and the Super Deluxe Limited Edition package. Lovely Creatures  was originally intended for release in 2015. Since its postponement the band have recorded and released their highly acclaimed 16th studio album  Skeleton Tree .Read a statement from Nick Cave here: https://lovelycreatures.lnk.to/afterwordWatch the trailer for Lovely Creatures here:https://lovelycreatures.lnk.to/video Lovely Creatures: The Best of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds 1984 – 2014  will be released on May 5th 2017 on BMG in the following formats:Double CD

The Cranberries - Why [official audio]

The Cranberries - Linger official audio

Last year, over two weeks in the University of Limerick, at the home of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, the band revisited old times; Dolores laid down vocals as small booths were created to record the instruments as if live. She was no longer a child, singing her amazing, mature songs from an inexperienced vantage point but a woman now, with the capacity to throw her life at the music, the benefit of hindsight. "I prefer them like this," she says of the new recordings of old songs, "with a little bit more experience behind them, with a new lease of life. They sound fresh again."

As the record began to take full shape, three new songs were added, to stop it just being a Proustian rush of memories lost and found. The first was The Glory, which Dolores explains she wrote in The Irish Chamber Orchestra’s rehearsal rooms at the University of Limerick. She then brought out two songs she had been keeping in her personal stash, until she could place them in the right home: "Rupture" ("about depression, about being in that black hole and finding it hard to get out of it") and the forthcoming single "Why?" ("written just after my father passed, the hardest time").

It’s testament to Dolores and Noel’s song-writing prowess that the new additions to the Cranberries cannon sit seamlessly next to the old. When they began finalising details for the record, they decided on Something Else, a nod to the first record’s Everybody Else…, a title neither riven with the promise of future endeavours or locked into the past.

Steve Earle To Release New Album - So You Wannabe An Outlaw - On June 16

STEVE EARLE TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM -  SO YOU WANNABE AN OUTLAW - ON JUNE 16 Album Pre-Orders, Available Today, Will Include An Instant Download of"Lookin' For A Woman"
April 28, 2017 (Burbank, CA) - Musician, songwriter, actor and author  Steve Earle  and his country rock band The Dukes will release So You Wannabe an Outlaw on June 16 on Warner Bros. Records. The album is available for pre-order today via all digital retailers. Those who pre-order will receive an instant download of the album track "Lookin' For A Woman."  So You Wannabe an Outlaw , Earle's first album for Warner Bros. Records since 1997's El Corazón, explores his country songwriting roots and features collaborations with Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, and Miranda Lambert. "There's nothing 'retro' about this record," Earle says. "I'm just acknowledging where I'm coming from." So You Wannabe an Outlaw is the first recording he has made in Austin, TX. Earle has lived in New York City for the past decade. "Look, I'm always gonna be a Texan, no matter what I do," he says. "And I'm always going to be somebody who learned their craft in Nashville. It's who I am."  So You Wannabe an Outlaw  is an homage to outlaw music and is dedicated to the late Waylon Jennings. "I was out to unapologetically 'channel' Waylon as best as I could." Earle says. "This record was all about me playing' on the back pick-up of a '66 Fender Telecaster on an entire record for the first time in my life. The vocal part of it is a little different. I certainly don't sound like Waylon Jennings. I moved to Nashville in November of 1974, and right after that Willie Nelson'sRed Headed Stranger came out. I was around when Waylon was recording Dreaming My Dreams. Guitar Town (Earle's 1986 chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning debut album) wound up being kind of my version of those types of songs," Earle recalls. Earle is backed on So You Wannabe an Outlaw by his long-time band The Dukes - guitarist Chris Masterson, fiddle player Eleanor Whitmore, bassist Kelly Looney, and new members drummer Brad Pemberton and pedal steel player Ricky Ray Jackson. The album was produced by  Richard Bennett  and recorded at Arlyn Studios in Austin. A true Renaissance man, Earle has also become a novelist, a film, TV, and stage actor, playwright, author, record producer, and radio host over the course of his 30+ year career. He is currently appearing in the off-Broadway play  Samara , for which Earle also wrote the score, thatThe New York Times called "exquisitely subliminal." He is also in the process of writing his memoirs for future publication. Tune in to Steve Earle's weekly radio show Hardcore Troubadour on  SiriusXM's Outlaw Country Channel . This summer, Earle will lead his fourth annual songwriting intensive, Camp Copperhead, in upstate New York from June 26-30, 2017. The all-inclusive, four-day music vacation and fully immersive learning experience will take place at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY, about half an hour west of Woodstock. Primary instructor Earle will be joined this year by special guest instructors Jackie Greene and Dar Williams. Details can be found at  http://camp-copperhead.com/ . The track listing for Steve Earle & The Dukes'  So You Wannabe An Outlaw  is as follows: So You Wanna Be An Outlaw (feat. THE WAR ON DRUGS RETURN WITH “THINKING OF A PLACE” + FALL TOUR

THE WAR ON DRUGS RETURN WITH “THINKING OF A PLACE,”NEW SONG OUT TODAY ON ATLANTIC RECORDS, AND ANNOUNCE FALL TOUR
ALBUM DETAILS COMING SOON!

“[Granduciel’s] influence has become omnipresent in the indie world . . . each element here—the steady, percussive piano; the quivering harmonica—feels necessary and bold, making Granduciel sound more present than ever.” — Pitchfork [BEST NEW TRACK]
“an epic, mood-shifting guitar jam” – NPR Music’s “All Songs Considered”
“What makes the song is what surrounds the strum: a smooth yet constantly changing backdrop of instruments and voices, with a neo-psychedelic lead guitar or a folksy harmonica sometimes floating to the surface. Behind the seeming simplicity, everything is in flux.” — The New York Times’ The Playlist
The War On Drugs return with the new song “Thinking of a Place,” and the announcement of a fall North American, European and UK tour. Their first new, original material since 2014’s  Lost In The Dream  and their debut for Atlantic Records, “Thinking of a Place” was produced by The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel and recorded and mixed by Shawn Everett. It was released as a limited edition, vinyl-only Record Store Day exclusive, and is available as of today via all DSPs.

7-Inches For Planned Parenthood Share First Single CHVRCHES' "Down Side of Me (Live)" with Kristen Stewart Directed Video

7-INCHES FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD SHARES FIRST SINGLECHVRCHES' "DOWN SIDE OF ME (LIVE)"
WATCH KRISTEN STEWART-DIRECTED VIDEOSINGLE ARTWORK BY WILLIAM VILLALONGO

PRE-ORDER OF VINYL BOX SET UP NOW AT7INCHESFORPLANNEDPARENTHOOD.COM
7" Vinyl Series Features Contributions from Björk, Common, Foo Fighters, John Legend,  Margaret Atwood, Nico Muhly, Shepard Fairey & More
Earlier this month,  members of the creative community announced 7-inches for Planned Parenthood, a curated series of 7-inch vinyl records and digital downloads to benefit Planned Parenthood. The project comprises contributions from acclaimed creative minds who stand with Planned Parenthood and its patients (see below for a full list of participants).
Today, the first single from the box set, a new version of "Down Side of Me (Live)"  from acclaimed electro-pop trio CHVRCHES, is available for purchase and stream at Apple MusiciTunes and Spotify.  Accompanying the release is also a Kristen Stewart directed video for the song.

(Watch at Youtube)
Of their contribution to the project, lead singer Lauren Mayberry says, "'Down Side Of Me'' was not written specifically for this project but I really like how the lyrics can be interpreted in a way that supports the goal of the project as a whole. We should all be able to have faith that our governments are working in our best interests - and if they aren't then, they should be challenged and held to account. 'I'll believe that you're all that you said you would be.'"
She continues: "We have always tried to be socially aware and to link in with organisations whose work we support. Planned Parenthood is an incredibly important resource for so many women (and men) in America and the fact that Planned Parenthood has come under so much fire in the current political climate does not sit well with us. Now is not the time to stay quiet, and if artists want to help by raising money or awareness for causes that we believe in, then I think that they should."
The cover artwork for the single is by Brooklyn artist William Villalongo, featuring one of his paintings from a series currently on display at the Susan Inglett art gallery in New York City. On his contribution to 7-inches, he says: "This new series reflects on the Black male presence in American society. Black male prison population statistics and the recent killing of unarmed Black youth, mostly male, such as Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and Freddy Gray brought me to the project.  The work addresses how society views (sees or can't see) Black men while also making concrete the staggering number of Black men literally absent from society in general.  Art is a way to speak of the unspeakable through observation, feeling, metaphor and material. "
The entire 7-inches for Planned Parenthood vinyl boxset is available now for pre-order at7inchesforplannedparenthood.com with a target of early fall for delivery. Each single will include a unique piece of artwork accompanying two sides of unique music, comedy or spoken word, many of which are given to Planned Parenthood, which provides reproductive health care to 2.5 million women, men, and young people each year.
The creative collective behind 7-inches for Planned Parenthood states:Lawmakers with extreme views are working hard to shut down Planned Parenthood. If they succeed, millions of Americans will lose access to basic health services, including STD testing and treatment, birth control, and life-saving cancer screenings.
7-inches for Planned Parenthood is a response to this threat. This curated series of 7-inch vinyl records is being made by a group of people who believe that access to health care is a public good that should be fiercely protected. Do we know there's a joke in the name? We do. We hope the title evokes the rich history of 7-inch vinyl records as a medium for protest music and resistance.
Planned Parenthood will receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this 7-inch box set and streaming listens.  We see this initiative as the start of something bigger, and hope it will inspire both contributors and listeners to continue to seek out ways to stand with Planned Parenthood and other institutions that are so vital to us all.
In addition to supporting 7-inches for Planned Parenthood, people can also visitIStandWithPP.org to find ways to get involved locally, contact their Senator and urge them to stand with Planned Parenthood, show their support for Planned Parenthood on social media using the hashtag #IStandWithPP,  and share how Planned Parenthood has helped you.

"We're incredibly grateful to have the support of so many artists and entertainers, many of them who have themselves relied on us for health care," said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. "Planned Parenthood has been around for 100 years, and onein five women in America have turned to us for care. Planned Parenthood has stood defiantly in the face of opposition for a century, and we're not backing down now.
