PJ Harvey and Ramy Essam to release ‘The Camp’ on Friday June 9th 2017
PJ Harvey and Ramy Essam to release ‘The Camp’ onFriday June 9th 2017Single set to raise much-needed awareness and funding to aiddisplaced children in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley.

PJ Harvey and Egyptian recording artist Ramy Essam have come together to write and record ‘The Camp’ – a track which they hope will raise awareness and much needed support towards the health and educational well-being of displaced children in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon.‘The Camp’ will be digitally on Friday 9 June 2017. Harvey and Essam recorded the track in Bristol with Harvey’s longtime collaborator John Parish, who produced and mixed the track, and also appears on drums and guitars. The artists will donate all net profits from the track to Beyond Association in the Bekaa Valley, a national Lebanese non-Governmental Organization. Beyond Association provides services such as access to education, healthcare, and psycho-social support mainly through art therapy, neuro-physiotherapy, and recreational activities.“It is hard to comprehend the scale of the crisis in Lebanon, a country of 4 million now hosting over 1 million Syrian refugees,” states photo-journalist Giles Duley whose arresting photographs feature in the official music video, edited by Rick Holbrook. “The infrastructure of the country is pushed to its limit, and nowhere is that situation more desperate than in the Bekaa Valley. However, there are some amazing organizations doing incredible, effective, and selfless work on the ground there, and all of the NGOs I have documented, none have impressed me more than Beyond. To visit their schools and witness their programs is to see hope – and that is something we have to support.”Watch the music video for The Camp now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhttLXBkJvEDiscussing how the project came to be, PJ Harvey explains how she instinctively knew that she wanted to collaborate with Essam; be it as a contribution to one of his ongoing projects, or something entirely new. “I began putting some ideas on paper, and sent over rough demos of two or three songs in their early forms,” recalls Harvey. One of these songs would ultimately become The Camp. When discussing the subject matter of the track, Ramy Essam speaks of his experiences during the revolution in the streets of Egypt. “I dealt with fights, beating, torture and the loss of friends,” he explains. While Essam’s struggle continues, he speaks fondly of the unique opportunity to work with PJ Harvey. “She is a humble person and true artist that I only could dream to even meet – and now I’m singing with her for this important cause, for humanity,” said Essam of the collaboration. “It was an honour to work with PJ Harvey, and I found it so inspiring. It gave me a chance to live my dream for a while.”“When Polly and Ramy asked me to help provide some of the visuals for The Camp, I had no difficulty in deciding what photographs we should use,” says Giles Duley. “In my work I have documented the effects of conflict and humanitarian disaster across the world, but little has had greater impact on me than the human drama I witnessed on the island of Lesvos in 2015. I thought I had seen it all, but I can honestly say I have never been so overwhelmed as by the human drama that I watched unfolding on those beaches. Its sheer scale was hard to comprehend; the lack of response impossible to explain or excuse. So it is those images from the beaches, and the refugees’ journey from Greece to Germany that we used in the video for The Camp.”

A Place I’ll Always Go is a frank look at love and loss, cushioned by indelible hooks and gently propulsive, fuzzed-out rock. The album channels feelings of anxiety — heart-racing moments both exhilarating and crushing — into songs that feel well-worn and comforting. Recorded at Brooklyn’s Thump Studios (with the assistance of Gabe Wax), A Place I'll Always Go builds on the promise of Palehound's critically acclaimed 2015 album Dry Food, showcasing songs that breathe Kempner’s evolved maturity. Following a spring tour with Big Thief and a handful of summer headlining dates which include a record release show in Boston, Palehound will kick off a national tour with Waxahatchee in August. Iron & Wine to release Beast Epic worldwide on Aug. 25th, shares 2017 tour dates + "Call It Dreaming" video
Iron & Wine returns with Beast Epic,
his first album of new material in over four years, available worldwide on August 25th through Sub Pop

June 28th-November 14thIron & Wine will release Beast Epic, his first new material in over four years. It is available worldwide starting August 25th. The new longplayer features eleven new compositions that share a certain kinship with his earlier material.
Iron & Wine’s principal songwriter Sam Beam had this to say of the album:
"I must confess that I’ve always shied away from album introductions citing the usual "dancing to architecture" cop out. Speaking to their own work is uncomfortable for many artists, but I’ve made a new album called Beast Epicwhich is important to me and I wanted to take a moment to talk about why. I’ve been releasing music for about fifteen years now and I feel very blessed to have put out five other full lengths, many EPs and singles, a few collaborations with people much more talented than myself, and made contributions to numerous movie scores and soundtracks. This is my sixth collection of new Iron & Wine material and I’m happy to say that it’s my fourth for Sub Pop Records.
"It’s a warm and serendipitous time to be reuniting with my Seattle friends because I feel there’s a certain kinship between this new collection of songs and my earliest material, which Sub Pop was kind enough to release.
“I have been and always will be fascinated by the way time asserts itself on our bodies and our hearts. The ferris wheel keeps spinning and we’re constantly approaching, leaving or returning to something totally unexpected or startlingly familiar. The rite of passage is an image I've returned to often because I feel we’re all constantly in some stage of transition. Beast Epic is saturated with this idea but in a different way simply because each time I return to the theme I’ve collected new experiences to draw from. Where the older songs painted a picture of youth moving wide-eyed into adulthood’s violent pleasures and disappointments, this collection speaks to the beauty and pain of growing up after you’ve already grown up. For me, that experience has been more generous in its gifts and darker in its tragedies.
“The sound of Beast Epic harks back to previous work, in a way, as well. By employing the old discipline of recording everything live and doing minimal overdubbing, I feel like it wears both its achievements and its imperfections on its sleeve. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed experimenting with different genres, sonics and songwriting styles and all that traveled distance is evident in the feel and the arrangements here, but the muscles seemed to have relaxed and been allowed to effortlessly do what they do best (read full artist statement at Sub Pop).”
Beast Epic was written and produced by Sam Beam. It was recorded and engineered by Tom Schick at the Loft in Chicago in July 2016 and January 2017, and mastered by Richard Dodd in Nashville, Tennessee. The musicians who played on the album include longtime Iron & Wine collaborators Rob Burger (keys), Joe Adamik (percussion), and Jim Becker (guitar, banjo, violin, mandolin), along with bassist Sebastian Steinberg (Soul Coughing and Fiona Apple), and Chicagoan Teddy Rankin Parker (cello).
Iron & Wine has also delivered a video for the lead track, “Call It Dreaming,” which stars the singer and was directed by J. Austin Wilson [watch here].
Beast Epic is now available for preorder from Sub Pop [link here], Iron & Wine’s official webstore [link here], and select independent retailers. The album will come in the following formats:A deluxe 2xLP version on red & blue vinyl with alternate artwork, two bonus tracks from the Beast Epic recording sessions along with three home recorded demos and an etching on side D.A single LP on black vinylCDDigitalCassette
Iron & Wine will tour in support of Beast Epic, beginning with his annual Midwives Benefit show in Austin, Texas on July 22nd. An extensive U.S. tour begins with a two night stand in Chicago (October 12th/13th) and ends with a two night stand in New York (November 13th/14th). European dates will follow in early 2018. A special fan presale begins June 8 at 10am (local time), with tickets on sale to general public on June 15th at 10am (local time).

his first album of new material in over four years, available worldwide on August 25th through Sub Pop

HARRY STYLES LIVE ON TOUR
EXPANDS WORLD TOUR DATES TO 2018
Due to overwhelming demand, Harry Styles has added 56 new show dates in 2018 to his sold-out world tour. The freshly added dates will begin in March 2018 in Basel, Switzerland and will conclude in Los Angeles, CA in July. The new dates will be supported by Kacey Musgraves (U.S. and Canada), Warpaint (Asia) and Leon Bridges (South America and Mexico), with special guests for Europe and Australia to be announced soon. The first leg of Harry Styles Live On Tour, which sold out in record time, will kick off in September 2017 visiting intimate venues around the world and featuring support from MUNA.
All tickets go on sale on Friday, June 16 via local ticket agents, visit www.hstyles.co.uk for local on sale timings. To ensure fans get tickets in their hands directly, Fan Registration for the North American tour dates is available now here through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, and for Europe here; supplies are limited. Additional fan measures will be made for the International shows on a local level.
Harry Styles’ self-titled debut album was released May 12th and soared to the top of the charts around the world. In the U.S. it topped the Billboard 200 album chart with over 230,000 equivalent album units sold and 193,000 traditional albums sold, making history as the biggest debut sales week for a U.K. male artist’s first full-length album since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. The U.S. record debut comes hot on the heels of Harry’s massive international success where the album hit #1 in over 55 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Holland, Belgium, Poland and across Latin America, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Boogarins announce Lá Vem a Morte for a surprise release this Friday, the 9th!
Stream it now at Consequence of Sound!
"At last year’s Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, we pegged Brazilian psych rock outfit Boogarins as one of the bands most likely to blow up. With their surprise (!) new album, Lá Vem a Morte, set to drop this Friday (June 9th), that fuse may just be ready to ignite." - Consequence of SoundIt's been non-stop touring for Boogarins, since their October '15 release of Manual. But they've still found time to pepper their fans with the occasional single here or the live album there (February's Desvio Onírico). This Friday, the boys have culled together a surprise EP in celebration of their Summer USA tour, that began earlier this week.
Lá Vem a Morte features five original tunes, surrounded by three movements. Last year's hit ELOGIO À INSTITUIÇÃO DO CINISMO sees it's official release, as well as FOIMAL, the Portuguese version of A PATTERN REPEATED ON (the John Schmersal fronted single shared last month).
Maybe it’s always been this way. But it seems that we are living in a time where you might feel pretty close to an unhappy ending, inside the chaotic situation of the nowadays world. Relationships lose their meaning. Cynicism is not just a feeling anymore. It is something solid, that hurts every time you try to consider that your wishes need to respect someone else's lives. Every day, you don't really want to wake up. The confusion of dark dreams is more pleasant than the weak form you assume day-by-day. Being attacked in so many ways and directions, that you don't known the real reason you put yourself in this situation. These songs are a reflection of the lack of sensibility in which we live. Maybe it's time to be strong, throw away the hypocrisy and face the bad and the good feelings at once... and find some deep truth besides the infinite superficiality of our days.
