"San Francisco native Richards is renowned for the uncanny authenticity of her throwback sound. But on Existential Beast, her fourth LP, this second-gen bohemian ingeniously employs recreations of baroque folk and psychedelia to bring context to the songs that intimate striking parallels between the political upheavals of 1968 and 2017. The intricate 'Golden Gate', with its radical tonal and tempo shifts, comes off like Love's Forever Changes with Judy Collins signing lead, while the blistering 'On The Outside Of Heaven' charges along like a modern-day 'All Along The Watchtower'. 'Another World' a lavishly orchestrated 12-minute outpouring contrasting the American dream with post-election reality, provides a mind-bending climax."

As she gears up for the release of her fourth studio album EXISTENTIAL BEAST out this Friday, June 16 via Invisible Hands Music , singer-songwriter-musician MIRANDA LEE RICHARDS stopped by YAHOO studios in Playa Vista, CA for a special acoustic performance and interview. Watch as MIRANDA performs three songs off her new album including "Ashes And Seeds," "Lucid I Would Dream," and "On The Outside of Heaven" followed by an intimate interview about her history and the making of the new album with YAHOO Music Editor Lyndsey Parker ( HERE ).
"Ashes And Seeds"
"Lucid I Would Dream"
"On The Outside Of Heaven"
Beautifully constructed with her signature 1970's-influenced, country-tinged psychedelia, EXISTENTIAL BEAST was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dandy Warhols). Listen and share MIRANDA'sfirst single "Lucid I Would Dream" on YAHOO (HERE) and YouTube ( HERE ).
The new album follows a busy year for MIRANDA which included the release Echoes of the Dreamtime (LP, 2016), U.S. and European tours and creating songs for the new Vicelandseries "Jungletown." EXISTENTIAL BEAST is a political album, examining the current issues of our time, with the intent of tackling tough and taboo subjects in a poetic and heartfelt manner. The title is also a mash-up of terms, referencing the existential crisis that has risen. MIRANDA says of EXISTENTIAL BEAST, "We are working within those animal urges of fear, competition, survival and sexuality which are deep-seeded and manifesting in varying ways. Like it or not, these tendencies have been revealed, within our leaders, our countries and ourselves; it is indeed a pivotal and transformational moment in time and there is much work to be done."
Early critical reviews are pouring in for EXISTENTIAL BEAST:
"Country music heard through psychedelic headphones..."--Danny McCloskey, THE ALTERNATE ROOT (3/31/17)
"On her fourth album, Existential Beast , Richards enchants with a distinctive blend ofspacey, harmony-laden pop ('Back to the Source') and intimate folk balladry ('Autumn Sun'). But she also trips out amid the swirling psychedelic guitars and jazzy dynamic shifts of the hard-rocking epic 'Golden Gate.'"--James Moreland, LA WEEKLY (5/23/17)
"Take one listen to chamber-folk singer-songwriter Miranda Lee Richards's wistful, winsome fourth solo album, Existential Beast , and some of her influences are evident: classic English folk troubadours like Nike Drake, Pentangle, Fairport Convention, andprotest singerShirley Collins; cosmicpsych collective the Brian Jonestown Massacre, with whom Richards has performed off and on since the late '90s; Buffalo Springfield and other '60s California country-rockers; and dreamy alterna-poppers Mazzy Star."--Lyndsey Parker, YAHOO! (6/13/17)
"Richards brings her substantive, poetic lyrics together with a psychedelic, folk-tinged country sound (reminiscent of Los Angeles-based, early 1970s band Spirit) to deliver a powerful look at today's post-election political climate....think of Richards' latest as a fairy tale for adults. 'Ashes And Seeds' serves as a thoughtful reminder that history is constantly repeating and that conflict is essential to positive change. The smooth sounds of pedal steel highlight Richards' laid back, fluid vocals 'Lucid I Would Dream' evokes the dream-like state with the effective use of strings and Mellotron while lyrically imagining that with clarity, fears would diminish. Existential Beast closes, as it begins, with hope in the ethereal, string-laden and aptly- titled 'Another World'. It is epic in length (over 12 minutes) and in breadth with its uplifting call to contribute to solutions. There is much to discover in the beauty of the vocals, the poetry in the lyrics and the uniqueness of the production found in Existential Beast."
--Harriet Watkins, THE DAILY COUNTRY (5/1/17)
"Musically the album draws from several '70s sources--Laurel Canyon country-rock royalty ('Ashes And Seeds'), Joe Boyd's Witchseason productions for Island Records ('Autumn Sun', 'Oh Raven'), through to the spoken word sections of David Axelrod's Earth Rot (the end section of 'Lucid I Dream'). Subtle use of echo throughout the album adds to the continuity of sound and aids its woozy intoxicating power. The album'stour de force is saved till the end. Clocking in at 12 minutes, 'Another World' is the most overtly political song, calling out those in power and offering a vision of how things could be. Clever stuff."--Duncan Fletcher, SHINDIG! MAGAZINE(four-out-of-four star album review, U.K., MAY 2017)

SHAED Announces U.S. Tour w/ Sir Sly | Writing and Recording New Album!
SHAED Announces Summer U.S. Tour With Sir Sly
Currently Writing and Recording Photo Finish Records Debut LP

June 14th, 2017 – New York, NY – Electronic pop trio SHAED is thrilled to announce a 3-week U.S. run supporting Sir Sly this summer! The dates come on the heels of the band wrapping-up a 6-week full U.S run with Bishop Briggs and sees SHAED returning to The Bowery Ballroom in New York City, and the first hometown show of the year at the Rock & Roll Hotel in Washington, DC. The trio has spent the last several weeks in Los Angeles and NYC writing and recording songs for its upcoming debut full length, due out later this year on Photo Finish Records, and will dive headfirst into the summer festival season with appearances at Firefly , Electric Forest , Mamby on the Beach , and Summerfest .
Comprised of powerhouse vocalist Chelsea Lee, and the twin brother production team ofMax and Spencer Ernst, SHAED has had its foot to the pavement since the release of its debut EP Just Wanna See in October of last year. The band has been touring non-stop, sharing the stage with the likes of Marian Hill, VÉRITÉ, Charlie XCX and more – all while continuing to write on and off the road for its debut studio LP. SHAED’s melody-first approach for songwriting has always been at the forefront of its DNA, allowing Lee’s vocals to settle perfectly into the Ernst twins’ dynamic and rhythmic instrumentation and production, where the space between notes is truly as important as the notes themselves.
With just six songs released, SHAED has accrued an impressive amount of glowing press – from Billboard describing Lee’s voice as having “a soulfulness and belt-ability that would stand out in any genre” to Interview Magazine saying the trio “combine bright and buoyant beats with smooth vocals, resulting in a vivid groove.” The band’s versatility and incredible live talent has led to a Spotify Singles session – where SHAED has already amassed more than 7 million streams, including a cover of The Weeknd’s “Star Boy ” – and an intimate stripped-down session at Paste studios .
SHAED’s summer tour with Sir Sly begins on July 8th in Atlanta, GA following a slew of festival dates, and wraps in Fresno, CA on July 30th. Tickets are on sale now, with dates below, and more to be announced! Please stay tuned to www.shaedband.com for up-to-date information on the band’s forthcoming debut LP and tour dates!

2017 International & US tour dates
resume August 11thB-Sides and Rarities will be available June 30th in North America from Sub Pop, in Europe from Bella Union and in Australia/New Zealand from Mistletone The video for “Chariot,” directed by the band, is a rumination on the creation, cultivation, and confusion of narratives in media [link here].
The “Chariot” video comes from Beach House’s B-Sides and Rarities album, a 14-track compilation of songs from throughout their career so far, out June 30th. The album features 2 previously unreleased tracks “Chariot” and “Baseball Diamond,” which were recorded during theDepression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars sessions (both Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Starswere released, 2 months apart, in 2015)
Beach House says of the release, “When we announced that we were releasing a B-sides and rarities album, someone on Twitter asked, ‘B-sides record? Why would Beach House put out a B-sides record? Their A-sides are like B-sides.’ This random person has a point. Our goal has never been to make music that is explicitly commercial. Over the years, as we have worked on our 6 LPs, it wasn’t the ‘best’ or most catchy songs that made the records, just the ones that fit together to make a cohesive work. Accordingly, our B-sides are not songs that we didn’t like as much, just ones that didn’t have a place on the records we were making.”
“The idea for a B-sides record came when we realized just how many non-album songs had been made over the years, and how hard it was to find and hear many of them. This compilation contains every song we have ever made that does not exist on one of our records. There are 14 songs in total [Read more at Sub Pop].”
Beach House’s B-Sides and Rarities will be released on CD / LP / CASS / DL and is available for pre-order now [link here]. LP pre-orders in North America through the Sub Pop Mega Mart and select independent retailers will receive the Loser Edition on crystal clear vinyl (while supplies last). I got gas in the tank
I got money in the bank
I got news for you baby, You're looking at The Man....
The Killers have announced details of their new single, "The Man," a dazzling first taste of the band's eagerly anticipated fifth album. The single is available for download and on all streaming services NOW via Island Records, following its worldwide premiere earlier today as "Hottest Record In The World" on BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac show, as well as in the U.S. with I Heart Radio and Sirius XM's "Alt Nation."
LISTEN TO "THE MAN" HERE
"The Man" is the first new album material from The Killers since Battle Born in 2012. Recorded with the producer Jacknife Lee during album sessions in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the song is the first single from the group's soon-to-be completed new album, which is shaping up to be their most sonically forward thinking record yet; an LP bursting with all of the blazing choruses and arena-filling anthems that make The Killers one of the world's biggest and most beloved rock bands.Renowned for his ability to paint evocative pictures of small town American life, Killersfrontman Brandon Flowers turns that remarkable skill on himself with "The Man." The song finds Brandon looking back on his younger self, the "Brandon Flowers" persona from their Grammy-nominated debut Hot Fuss, and reconciling that wide-eyed character with the man he is now. It's also the most infectious pop song of their already accomplished career. The Killers will be playing select U.S. shows in 2017, with headlining stints atLollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Voodoo Festival, and more. Their show at London's Hyde Park on 8th July sold out in record time, and they'll headline multiple festivals this summer in both the U.S. and UK as well as Spain, Sweden, and more. All dates below.

Everything Everything Return With "Can't Do" + Official Video. Announce New Album "A Fever Dream."

ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM "A FEVER DREAM"
OUT AUGUST 18TH

"CAN'T DO"
iTunes | Apple Music | Spotify
Manchester-based four-piece Everything Everything return with a brand new single ”Can’t Do”. It’s the first to be taken from their forthcoming new album “A Fever Dream” which has been produced byJames Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Depeche Mode).
The the official video -- which also debuted today -- was directed by Holly Blakey who the band became big fans of from her previous work. Jonathan Higgs explains "We came to Holly with the idea of mutants dancing in a sewer but over time this became masked weirdos dancing in a kind of lava palace. She really wanted a sense of naughtiness and humor to shine through which definitely came out well. I see the video as a window onto freaks and outcasts, those who can’t fit in, "can't do" what the world wants them to do, and the masks are them trying to fit in, but you'd have to ask Holly why they ended up in the centre of the earth!" Watch the official video for "Can't Do" HERE .
“Can’t Do” reaffirms this brilliant band’s endless creative journey, their ability to incorporate myriad ideas within the length of a pop song, whilst feeling coherent and now more direct than ever before. Synth bursts introduce the song before Jonathan Higgs's unique vocal kicks in. Backing vocals and a driving bassline push the song to its chorus, which breaks into euphoria. It’s an utterly captivating return.
Of the new single, singer Jonathan Higgs says:
“Can't Do” is about trying to bend to the world and fit into it. Nobody is normal, nobody knows what normal is. 'I can't do the thing you want' - we don't care we just want you to dance."
“A Fever Dream” is the band's fourth album. It’s the follow up to the critically-lauded Top 10 album “Get To Heaven”, an album that can now be seen to have been incredibly prescient given the current state of the world. It was their third consecutive Top 10 album, after LPs “Man Alive,” and “Arc.”

Slumberland Records and Grey Market are excited to announce Cage Tropical, the new album from Brooklyn-based artist, Frankie Rose, due August 11. Featuring sci-fi references and '80s influences, the lead single "Trouble" is described by The Line of Best Fit as, "a driving first taste, with a rock-solid motorik underpinning Rose's wiry synthwork and frayed vocals."
The visualizer video for " Trouble " features a hotline fans can call that's based out of Roswell, New Mexico. Callers are encouraged to leave their paranormal and extraterrestrial / UFO encounter stories on the hotline number. All messages will be screened for possible inclusion on the Weird Night with Juan & Frankie podcast, launching later this summer and focused on the connection between music and the paranormal.Frankie says of the song, "Trouble came out of the simple realization that you can't outrun yourself or your problems. Wherever you go they will follow you unless you address them. I tried. Went to Los Angeles after years in New York and nothing much changed. 3000 miles was a long distance on the map, but it didn't mean anything was going to shift automatically, unless I made the choice to do itinternally."TOUR DATES:NORTH AMERICAN TOURJUN 14 - BOSTON - The Sinclair*

OCT 28 - AMSTERDAM - London CallingAbout Cage Tropical:After spending years as a major presence in Brooklyn’s thriving music scene, playing in acts such as Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, Vivian Girls and Beverly, Frankie Rose relocated to her familial home of Los Angeles for 18 months with the intention of establishing yet another moment in her storied indie rock métier. Gradually, she found herself short on sleep, funds and optimism. "I moved to LA, drama ensued and I ended up on a catering truck. I was like, how can this be my life after being a touring musician and living off of music. I had really lost my way and I thought I was totally done."Through sleepless nights of listening to broadcaster Art Bell’s paranormal-themed archives, Frankie’s thoughts had turned to "who am I, I’m not cut out for this business, it’s not for me." She continues, "I was literally in my room in L.A., not knowing how I was going to get out. But out of it all, I just decided to keep making music, because it is what I love and what I do – regardless of the outcome."
Towards the end of her time spent in Los Angeles, Frankie reached out to Jorge Elbrecht (Tamaryn, Gang Gang Dance, No Joy, Violens) and began sketching what became the basic outline of what felt like a new album. Then, rather fortuitously, Frankie ended up back in Brooklyn with the realization that "in the end, I’m on my own. I have to do these things on my own."
The months that ensued meant basically working with no budget and finding ways to record in-between days. This time enabled Frankie to experiment musically with a variety of people that ultimately changed the way she worked. "I got a lot of input from people like Dave Harrington (Darkside), who was helpful reconstructing the songs, adding dynamics and changing up the rhythms."
The result of this existential odyssey is Cage Tropical , Frankie’s fourth album. It is awash with vintage synths, painterly effects pedals, upside down atmosphere and reverberating vocals. It evokes a new wave paranormality of sorts that drifts beyond the songs themselves. "My references aren’t just music," says Frankie, "I love old sci-fi. They Live is one of my favorite movies ever, same with Suspiria. 80’s sci-fi movies with a John Carpenter soundtrack, with silly synths – that makes it into my file, to the point that I’ll write lyrics incorporating that kind of stuff. It’s in there."
Beginning with the shimmery, cinematic and percussive sparkling of the album’s opening track "Love in Rockets," the song’s refrain of "a wheel, a wheel of wasting my life: a wheel, a wheel of wasting my time" immediately alludes to those darker circumstances that led to the creative origins of Cage Tropical ."It’s all essentially based on what happened to me in Los Angeles and then a return to Brooklyn," says Frankie. "Misery turned into something good. The whole record to me is a redemption record and it is the most positive one I’ve made."
"I feel like I am finally free from worrying about an outcome. I don’t care. I already lost everything. I already had the worst-case scenario. When that happens, you do become free. In the end, it’s about me rescuing myself via having this record."
