LOS ANGELES, CA, DECEMBER 8, 2017 - Today, Mereki released her new holiday song "I'll Be Yours Tonight (Merry Christmas)". The track was written by Mereki, Joshua Moriarty (Miami Horror), Dhani Harrison and Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear), and produced by Chris Taylor in his Echo Park studio. It's an honest tune with haunting lyrics about spending the holidays alone, reflecting on time passed with a former lover. The bittersweet love story makes for a fresh dose of reality amongst the slew of typical sing-alongs covered time and time again by modern artists. With this song, Mereki continues to pave her own path in the music scene; one of self-awareness, that confidently rides the waves of life's ups and downs with emotional consciousness. In November, Mereki released the new EP Beach, which features four new pop tracks, including the single "French Kissing", recorded in 528hz frequency, known as the healing tone, as well as "Got It All", "Friend Again" and the contemplative, "It Will"; a mantra about living in the present and letting go. "We've spent the last few years on the road translating the 'Woman' album from a bedroom project into a full live experience. ‘International Blue’ is the first new release from MANIC STREET PREACHERS in four years and is available from today (8th December 2017). It is taken from the band’s 13th studio album 'Resistance Is Futile' out on Columbia/Sony on 6th April 2017. The single is unfiltered, classic Manic Street Preachers. Inspired by the city of Nice in the mid winter sun and the life’s work of French Nouveau realisme artist Yves Klein, the song is built over an immense riff that echoes the twin Manics peaks of ‘Generation Terrorists’ and ‘Everything Must Go’.

Nicky Wire explained “I’d been digesting the lyric for five years, since being in Nice and finally joining the dots between Yves Klein’s International Klein Blue and the vast open blue of the Mediterranean Sea. It was a moment of connection that felt perfectly natural – not forced or intellectualised. A different kind of enrichment that feels increasingly difficult to find. The track itself is carried by the kind of naïve energy that powered ‘Motorcycle Emptiness’”.

James Dean Bradfield added “Often I just need a great title to set me off. Seeing the word blue struck a chord and set off memories of pure pop records we grew up with – things like the ‘Story of the Blues’ by Wah!, ‘Moon is Blue’ by Colourbox, Orange Juice’s ‘Blue Boy’ and’ In Bluer Skies’ by Echo and the Bunnymen. I immediately thought of the kind of shiny freedom pop we used to hear on the radio as kids and that quickly became the MO in my head when writing. I just wanted to make a great Manic Street Preachers driving song; something that evoked the heat haze you see on empty open roads in America. I wanted to channel a Springsteen/War on Drugs sensibility, but through our European filter. Sometimes, aiming for a feeling is enough to make it work”.

Of their first new album since 2014’s ‘Futurology’, the band said: “The main themes of ‘Resistance is Futile’ are memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration.”

The weekend features showcases and curated events with like minded-folks such as Margin Walker, Sacred Bones Records, Burger Records, Castle Face Records, BYM Records, Gorilla VS Bear, NRMAL, Desert Daze, Exploded Drawing along with more presenters and collaborators to be announced. Additional shows, headliners, and event details will be released in a PHASE 2 lineup release in early 2018.

ABOUT LEVITATION
Founded in 2008 as Austin Psych Fest, by members of The Black Angels and friends, the independent event grew from a small word-of-mouth event to an internationally acclaimed, full weekend destination. Through the years, they helped spark a movement, inspiring the creation of Psych Fests and similar events across the globe. Austin Psych Fest was renamed Levitation in honor of Austin's psychedelic rock pioneers The 13th Floor Elevators, who reunited and performed at Levitation 2015 for the band's 50th anniversary.
2016 was heralded by press and fans alike to be another landmark year for Levitation, until severe weather resulted in the cancellation of the 3 day weekend at the ranch, and a rapidly rescheduled weekend of club shows in downtown Austin. The cancellation also resulted in financial devastation of the independent group, and the postponement of the 2017 event in Austin. The founders took a year to restructure and find a way to move forward. Levitation returns in 2018, continuing the vision that launched the event in 2008.
In addition to the flagship event in Austin, the group has curated Levitation events in France, Chicago and Vancouver, along with ongoing events in Austin and special events and showcases at Mexico City's NRMAL, The Netherlands' Le Guess Who, and a massive annual Levitation showcase at SXSW. Levitation France celebrated it's 5th year in September 2017, at Le Quai in Angers, FR with sold out crowds.  Since 2010, The Reverberation Appreciation Society record label has released records by key bands in the psych and garage rock scene like Night Beats, Holy Wave, Ringo Deathstarr and many more - with new releases on the horizon.
