Darkroom/Interscope Records artist Billie Eilish has released her latest track “&burn” worldwide today. Described as "a moody slow-burner packed with booming drums, hushed verses, and a killer guest appearance" by  The FADER , “&burn” was produced by her brother Finneas O’Connell and features American west-coast rapper Vince Staples.  “&burn” is available on all digital platforms from today. 2017 has seen 15-year-old Billie Eilish rise to international acclaim with the release of her debut EP “dont smile at me” (Darkroom/Interscope Records), sold-out tours across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America, and being touted as Apple’s UP NEXT Artist, VEVO’s 2018 Artist To Watch on dscvr and listed as part of the UK’s BBC’s Sound of 2018 poll.

NEW YORK, NY - DECEMBER 15, 2017 - Demented Punk today unveiled the late Adam West's cover of "The Thing," originally performed by Phil Harris of the Jack Benny Show. "The Thing" was first released in 1950, where it spent four weeks atop the Billboard Pop charts and eventually became one of the most successful novelty songs of all time. West is famous for his iconic role as Batman in the 1960s TV series of the same name, the voice of reoccurring character "Mayor West" on the animated series "Family Guy," and countless other appearances in TV and film. He contributed one of his final performances to this classic novelty track prior to passing earlier this year. 
"The Thing" appears on Demented Punk's Dr. Demento Covered In Punk which is due for release on January 12, 2018.  The song was produced by John Cafiero and backed by Osaka Popstar's Demented Punk Orchestra, which features drums by Dennis Diken (The Smithereens), bass guitar by Sal Maida (Roxy Music, Milk 'n' Cookies) guitar by Dean Rispler (Dictators, Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black), and a full horn section. Cafiero, who produced and curated the entire project, had the following to add about the experience of working with West:"Adam West was a great guy and a real pleasure to work with-genuinely funny, good-natured and a total professional. It was an honor to have the chance to work with him. When he arrived at the studio, he pulled me aside and said, 'I'm going to give you the greatest gift I can give you... I'm going to sing this song as Mayor West', (his character on 'Family Guy'). I replied and said, in all sincerity...'The greatest gift you can give me is to just be yourself, have fun with it, and perform the song as Adam West.' He was taken aback, and within a few seconds of processing what I had just said, his face lit up, beaming with pride. I truly meant every word. Adam's persona was larger than life, really colorful and vibrant. It was obvious during the session he was genuinely having fun with it, and I think you can hear that permeating throughout the track. He gave an incredible performance. 
This album has the great pleasure of sharing one of Adam West's final performances with the world-and it is truly a fantastic one. He was THE real Batman, and it's a memory I'll treasure."

The SkinnyToday, breath-taking post-classical artist Poppy Ackroyd shares her brand new single ‘Paper’ taken from her first full-length album with One Little Indian Records, Resolve – out early 2018. A classically trained pianist, violinist, producer, and composer, Ackroyd turned heads in the neo-classical world with her previous works Escapement and Feathers, as well as her involvement in Hidden Orchestra (Tru Thoughts).

Having played alongside giants of the genre, Hauschka and Nils Frahm, the unique musician has returned, newly signed to Bjork’s label One Little Indian Records, fresh off the back of a mini-album Sketches, and set to release her brand new self-produced full-length record - her most ambitious and progressive piece of work to date. 

Talking about the new single, Ackroyd said: "'Paper' is the opening track on the album and the most similar in style to my previous work. It features guest instrumentalists; Mike Lesirge on flute and clarinets, and Jo Quail on cello, but 'Paper' is mostly made out of sounds from the violin and piano. The name of the track comes from the paper I laid over the strings while I used fingers and piano hammers to create the percussive sounds that you hear at the start and throughout the track."

In contrast to Ackroyd's previous albums, for which the artist manipulated field recordings, Ackroyd has this time employed guest players on the record, in conjunction with her trademark and unique use of unconventional studio methods. Ackroyd creates percussive textures from traditional classical instruments, and the result is almost the emulation of an entire orchestra, using very few instruments combined with the artist’s incredible production skills.

The ground-breaking track and the new album explores life's constant challenges, and many of the songs are extremely personal to Poppy. In her own words: “Resolve is about the determination to embrace the good things in life whilst dealing with unexpected and challenging difficulties. Finding the light in the dark, facing sadness and loss head on, and developing a growing inner strength.”

Although a keen collaborator outside of her solo work – having created soundtracks for film, dance, physical theatre and radio – this is the first record for which Poppy has written for and employed other players, including Manu Delago (Bjork, Cinematic Orchestra, Anoushka Shankar) playing hang, Mike Lesirge (Bonobo, Andreya Triana) playing clarinets and flute, and Jo Quail on cello.

Through studying contemporary classical piano works and listening to electronic music, Ackroyd quickly developed her signature compositional style on previous albums, using contemporary pianistic ideas whilst also inhabiting the world of sound beyond the keyboard, using extended techniques to 'play' other parts of the instruments as well. The intelligent artist works by recording improvised contemporary classical piano motifs and then rearranging and manipulating these sounds digitally. The result is a fantastic fusion of acoustic and electronic in a post-classical setting.

A vintage soul album inspired legendary artists like Dusty Springfield, Candi Staton, Loretta Lynn and Janis Joplin, Goodnight Rhonda Lee was recorded with Fort Worth, TX's Nile City Sound, a.k.a. producers Austin Jenkins, Josh Block, and Chris Vivion (Leon Bridges), with additional mixing by Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes).

Nicole also recently opened up to writer Jason Newman in Rolling Stone , crediting a hip-hop producer she met in rehab for pushing her into soul music. "One day, he's like, 'Play me your stuff.' He said, 'You're really good, but you need to stop fucking around with this indie-rock bullshit. You're a soul singer. Just do what you do.'"

Asked about the titular Rhonda Lee, which "started as my bowling alias, but became my drunken hag alias," Atkins, now sober, explained to Newman why she was ready to say "good night" to that character. "In my element, I could've been the best fucking thing you've ever seen where I'll get us a free limo ride to the party in Brooklyn and free drugs and then we'll go get steak and eggs in the morning, or I'll say horrible things to your wife," she says. "There was no telling."

Following a completely sold out North American run this past fall, Cigarettes After Sex recently announced a 2018 tour that begins on March 23rd in Austin, TX and includes stops at Brooklyn Steel and the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in LA. Their debut LP ranked #6 on Rough Trade's Top Albums of 2017, and The Guardian included "Apocalypse" in their Top Songs of 2017. "Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby" was featured on the Emmy-winning TV show "The Handmaid's Tale". Legendary French singer Francoise Hardy called the band her new favorite on Talkhouse. Okeechobee, FL. (December 13th, 2017) -- Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival is proud to announce via Billboard  the leader of 2018's PoWoW lineup, which delivers once-in-a-lifetime musical moments each year. This time around, Snoop Dogg is set to perform with an array of special guests that will span the genres of hip-hop, funk and soul. Other newly announced artist additions to the 2018 lineup include Lil Dicky, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, $ki Mask The Slump God, The Funky Meters, Smino, NoMBe, Berhana, Liquid Stranger, Opiuo, Chet Porter, Doreloe, Squnto B2B Boogie T, Thriftworks, Subtronics B2B Dirt Monkey, Johnny Oz, Viniloversus, Pearl and The Oysters, Vandana, Sky White Tiger, and Kamalata. Hundred Waters share "Wave To Anchor" video

LA-based trio Hundred Waters have shared a buoyant video clip for "Wave To Anchor," a particularly effusive and ebullient track from their recently released full length Communicating. The video was directed by Allie Avital (Chairlift, Moses Sumney) and shot entirely on location in Bulgaria with a cadre of local dancers, sheep, and bystanders on hand to augment vocalist Nicole Miglis's exuberant performance.

 Last week the band debuted a new custom-designed lighting rig called 'Array'. Crafted by esteemed production artist Timeboy (who was behind Flying Lotus' 3D live show), the rig is a hand built grid of two-sided discs that alternate between projection screen and mirrored surface, creating a veritable kaleidoscope of projected images and reflected light.  Footage from their show at the El Rey in Los Angeles, featuring 'Array' can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/ffCPf21lhJ4
