St. Vincent to Perform on The Tonight Show and Appear on The Daily Show Dec 6
First Leg of 'Fear the Future Tour' - Hailed as "Genius," "Otherworldly," "Spellbinding," and "Visually Arresting" - Wraps with Two Sold-Out Shows at Brooklyn's Kings TheatreSt. Vincent will appear on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight, to perform “Slow Disco” from her new album ‘MASSEDUCTION’ (Loma Vista Recordings).  This Wednesday she will appear on The Daily Show for an interview with Trevor Noah.

‘MASSEDUCTION’ was released in October to some of the highest praise of her career and has appeared on several Best of 2017 lists so far.  ‘MASSEDUCTION’ became St. Vincent’s first-ever top ten debut on the Billboard 200.
What critics are saying about the ‘Fear The Future Tour’:"It was nothing short of genius — not to mention, wildly entertaining." - Detroit Metro Times

"Spellbinding...during Clark’s 90-minute set, I couldn’t help thinking of Prince, and David Bowie, and Beyoncé." - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

"A program of delicious contradictions — fame vs. isolation, artifice vs. authenticity — left St. Vincent’s audience thoroughly charmed....all aspects of  [the tour] are visually arresting." – Indianapolis Star

"A daring high-wire act in which Clark sang and played guitar...relying on her talent, stage presence, costumes (think: Wonder Woman as seductress) and her songs themselves to carry the day." - St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Moon Honey Debut Video For "Betta Fish." Headlining Teragram Ballroom December 14

MOON HONEY DEBUT OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “BETTA FISH”

HEADLINING LOS ANGELES’ TERAGRAM BALLROOM ON DECEMBER 14 WATCH
“BETTA FISH”
iTunes | Apple Music | Spotify | Soundcloud

12/14 – The Teragram Ballroom – Los Angeles, CA – TICKETS

Today, Moon Honey debuted their captivating new video for their latest sonic offering "Betta Fish." Directed by Paul Meredith, the video is a quirky and delightful kaleidoscope of color, shot inside the California Institute of Abnormal Arts and features special guest appearances from one 100 year old dead French clown in face paint, one Chinese magician from an opium den in San Francisco, and one severed hand of a gypsy. Watch the official video for "Betta Fish"  HERE ."Betta Fish" is available worldwide on Apple Music and Spotify and is their first release since the critically acclaimed 2013 debut “ Hand-Painted Dream Photographs” which quietly sent shockwaves throughout the underground, bubbling up with praise courtesy of The New York TimesNoiseyNPR and more.

Formed in the Big Easy, psych-pop, art duo Moon Honey includes lead vocalist, visual artist and lyricist, Jess Joy, and guitarist and composer, Andrew Martin, and together they’ve created an out-of-this-world concoction of magic that transports you to another peculiar and exciting realm of sound and vision.

A wild red-headed musical enchantress and multi-faceted artist from the bayou of Baton Rouge, Jess’ je ne sais quoi extends beyond her primal vocal conjuring’s to handmade mysticism—from personally directing D.I.Y. stop-motion music videos and assembling surreal collages to building paper maché stage production and sewing period-correct costume pieces. Born in the Big Easy and raised on the Cayman Islands as an anachronistic disciple of Jimi Hendrix and Mark Bolan, Andrew speaks through six-strings often while decked out in mod velvet threads. The union of these two dissonantly kindred spirits yields a totemic pastiche of psychedelia, rock, soul, performance art and good old-fashioned voodoo.

Currently nestled in the Silverlake Hills of Los Angeles, Moon Honey’s Jess and Andrew immersed themselves in the city’s arts scene whilst writing and recording the new music.  Working with producer John Goodmanson [Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie], the band bottle their world into simultaneously complex and singable songs - like Betta Fish - and plan on inviting us further into their multi-colored, psychedelic universe, as they reveal more music, art and visuals created by the talented duo in 2018.

“We really believe in the human hand,” Jess goes on. “Andrew is so specific with his tones and the vintage tubes he chooses. The way he plays is very emotional. We don’t lean into electronic or digital music. We feel strongly about preserving the organic qualities that come from the hand and those imperfections. That ties into the artwork being handmade. I want everything to be tactile and have irregularities.”

“Musically, the guitar creates the sounds,” Andrew elaborates. “There are so many ways to break, bend, and warp that instrument. I believe in it so much.”

That belief carries over into the music and can be heard in their latest dynamic sonic offering, “Betta Fish.” Watch the new video HERE.

Moon Honey will be headlining at The Teragram Ballroom on December, 14th. For more information and tickets, go to www.moonhoneyband.com More to come from Moon Honey soon.

CRACK-UP OUT NOW ON NONESUCH RECORDS
Fleet Foxes - US Spring Tour 2018 Video by: Sean Pecknold
Fleet Foxes have announced a run of tour dates in 2018 throughout the Southern part of the US including a return to Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium. Tickets are on sale Friday, December 9 at 10:00 AM Local Time, all tour dates are listed below and a tour admat can be found here. Fleet Foxes are preparing to conclude a massive year, including sold-out shows at Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and multi night sellouts in Seattle, New York and more. The band’s latest album Crack-Up and select songs is being celebrated  on the Best of 2017 lists including EsquireConsequence of SoundPasteUproxxVulture and others.  Fleet Foxes released Crack-Up on June 16, 2017 via Nonesuch Records. Following a six-year hiatus, the band earned international praise for what the New York Times called ”a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”” This year, Fleet Foxes stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert twice performing "Third of May" and then "Fool's Errand"  as well as a full session on CBS This Morning. The band provided a look at the experience, behind (and on) stage, with special guests The Westerlies. Watch the full video by Sean Pecknold.
Fleet Foxes recently took part in Record Store Day’s Black Friday, releasing a special edition 10” EP exclusively through independent record stores. The EP features four songs, thoughtfully selected from a WFUV session recorded at the historic Electric Lady Studio in New York on June 13, 2017, days before the band's new album,Crack-Up, was released.
“Crack-Up is a defiant artistic statement, an album that dares to feel important.”- New York Times
“The band’s third album is their most complex and compelling to date. Robin Pecknold’s songwriting retreats inward while around him dense folk compositions rise and fall on a massive scale.” - Pitchfork  (Best New Music)
“Rewarding, involving and meticulous, Crack-Up has been well worth the wait.” - AP
“A rich, ideas-driven record which pulls off a pretty unlikely feat: infusing Fleet Foxes’ music with the same sense of transcendence and beauty that they managed the first time, now delivered with an added sense of expansive musical ambition.  Confirms that rarest of achievements: a group somehow hanging on to the essence of who they are, while pushing their art into thrillingly unforeseen places.’ - Q Magazine
“Astonishing.  Crack-Up may be the most anticipated release of the year, a welcome return.  Ambitious, mature, meticulous.” – Uncut
“Adventurous, excellent” - Rolling Stone
“Likely to be the most remarkable album you will hear this year… the return of one of the most original bands of this century.” – Times (London)
“Crack-Up is enveloping enough to get lost in… For every contained and elegantly pretty ballad like "Kept Woman," there's a byzantine engine of ambition like the title track, which closes Crack-Up with a burst of energy worthy of its title.” - NPR
“The Seattle-formed indie-folk pick up where they left off with pensive balladry  and life affirming anthems loaded with harmonies that'd make Crosby, Stills & Nash jealous.” - Entertainment Weekly

Jonathan Wilson Announces 'Rare Birds' LP Featuring Lana Del Rey, Father John Misty, Lucius, Laraaji; Spring World Tour

Jonathan Wilson Announces New Album,  Rare Birds; March 2018 LP Includes Contributions From Father John Misty, Lucius, Laraaji, Lana Del Rey; Spring World Tour Announced; December LA Shows Sold Out
FIRST TRACK "Over The Midnight" OUT NOW

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Jonathan Wilson(Father John Misty, Karen Elson, Conor Oberst), returns with his third solo release onBella Union on March 2nd, 2018. The ambitious "maximalist" album, titled Rare Birds, features contributions from Father John Misty, LuciusLana Del Rey, and New Age music legend Laraaji. The first track from the album, the epic and romantic "Over The Midnight", is streaming now. Watch the video - directed by Andrea Nakhla - here

Of "Over The Midnight", Wilson says, "I wanted to write a song about a sacred place for lovers to exist and I named that destination, process, mood or feeling  'Over the Midnight'. It's a place where nothing is savage." In one of Wilson's favorite lines on the album he sings, "This world it is burning, but don't it feel incredible?/ Whisper in my ear and tell me what you see in the flames."
A highly sought after record producer, North Carolina native Wilson had a busy 2017, producing Father John Misty's Grammy nominated Pure Comedy and touring arenas around the globe as a guitarist and vocalist for Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters (for whom he also contributed to the Grammy nominated Is This The Life We Really Want? album). Wilson also saw widespread acclaim heaped on Karen Elson's sophomore LP Double Roses, which he recorded with her in Los Angeles in 2016. But 2018 looks to be even more active as he'll be continuing on with the worldwide Waters tour, releasing Rare Birdsand completing a headline tour of US and Europe in the spring. But first, he'll wrap up this year with a short run of shows in Los Angeles in December; performing three consecutive nights - billed as 'Jonathan Wilson with Band, Friends and Strings' at The Moroccan inLos Angeles, CA on December 21, 22 and 23. These shows are now sold out with a handful of tickets for press available on request. A newly announced headline tour for March and April includes stops in ChicagoNew YorkDCPhilly and Boston before heading to Europe. All confirmed dates below.
Although much of the album is comprised lyrically of meditations on a failed relationship and its aftermath, Wilson insists that Rare Birds is not really a concept album. "It's meant more as a healing affair, a rejuvenation, a reconciliation, for others, and for me. I wanted to balance personal narrative with the need I feel for calming, healing music. I think we need journeys in sound, psychedelic gossamer-winged music, to incite hope, positivity, longing, reckless abandon and regret. It's all in there."
And, for this one, music critics will need to retire the comparisons to heritage rockers and Laurel Canyon troubadours as they're hardly useful anymore. Wilson's new sound takes a synthetic/acoustic, best-of-both-worlds analog/digital hybrid approach to achieve the complexity, sonic density and glossy hi-fi coating of Rare Birds. Heard for the first time on a Jonathan Wilson album are the sounds of synthesizers and drum machines.
"The Neil Young, CSN, Dennis Wilson and Tom Petty comparisons for the first two records were flattering, but I didn't ever really see it that way myself", he explains. More genuinely influenced by such disparate artists as Talk Talk, Arthur Russell and a 'Sleigh Bells-meet-George Harrison kinda thing', Wilson has made a "maximalist," high density album more influenced by 80s British production more than anything to do with Southern California in 1970s. It's a dynamic new approach for Wilson that calls to mind one of Peter Gabriel's early solo albums or even mid-period Kate Bush. "This album is a hell of a lot more Trevor Horn than anything, you know, Laurel Canyon-related," he muses. Recorded during the same timeframe he was in the studio with Roger Waters, working on Is This The Life We Really Want?, Wilson felt inclined to expand into certain psychedelic and sound labyrinths. There are voices, sirens, children playing, and more enhancing spatial sounds, while musical compadres Lana Del Rey and Josh Tillman (Father John Misty) appear as backing vocalists on "Living With Myself" and "49 Hairflips", respectively.
Says Tillman, "Jonathan's talent - "mastery" may be more apt - places him among a rarefied class of musical auteur.  You'd be hard pressed to find a comparison, or contemporary for that matter, that would do his recent work justice."
2018 will see Wilson playing nearly 100 shows all over the world with Roger Waters and performing his own headline and festival appearances wherever, and whenever he can fit them in.

PROPAGANDHI ANNOUNCE 2018 TOUR DATES

PROPAGANDHI ANNOUNCE 2018 TOUR DATESA driven, feverish, splutteringly angry rock album about living in a world where the prevailing climate has become so anti-human, so apocalyptically bleak, that it’s all you can do to scream into a pillow sometimes.” –  Stereogum, Album of the Week Canadian punk band Propagandhi have announced 2018 North American tour dates. Propagandhi are touring in support of their seventh album  Victory Lap (September 29 via Epitaph). La Armada and Iron Chic will open the show. Tickets go on sale December 8 at 9am local time. For more information visithttps://propagandhi.com/

Since forming in Manitoba in 1986, Propagandhi have brought an emphatic anti-fascist message to their music. Along with addressing a number of personal losses suffered in recent years, Victory Lap finds the band facing a landscape in which fascism is—among a certain crowd—suddenly trendy.

The band’s first full-length in five years, Victory Lap arrives as the follow-up to 2012’s acclaimed Failed States. Victory Lap also marks Propagandhi’s first album with new guitarist Sulynn Hago, who joins Samolesky, frontman Chris Hannah, and bassist Todd Kowalski. Replacing longtime guitarist David Guillas (who appears on several tracks on Victory Lap), Hago was added to the lineup after Propagandhi put out a call for audition tapes and received over 400 responses.TOUR DATES

Cults Release New Track "I Got Your Message (feat. Christopher Owens)," 'Offering' Out Now

CULTS RELEASE NEW TRACK "I GOT YOUR MESSAGE (FEAT. CHRISTOPHER OWENS)"
OFFERING OUT NOW VIA SINDERLYN
Cults have been busy playing to packed rooms across North America this past Fall in support of their latest album  Offering . As a thank you to their fans, they've released a new track titled "I Got Your Message." The song features Christopher Owens from Curls, who supported the band on their west coast dates.
Listen to "I Got Your Message"
Cults had this to say about the track, "Hello everybody! We just wanted reach out and thank you guys for coming out to what was honestly our favorite tour yet. We spent a good bit of time working on this music and we had no idea how this tour was going to go down but you guys blew away our expectations night after night.
As a gift we wanted to send you guys a link to a song we recorded a few months ago. It's kind of a full circle thing as it's a cover of a song of the band that opened the majority of the tour (Hideout) featuring Christopher Owens from Curls who also did support for the California dates. We think it's a fun little ditty and we hope you guys enjoy it.
Y'all are the best for showing up and making this tour as awesome as it was. We'll see you out in Europe in January and hopefully everywhere else throughout the rest of the year. ❤️"
Watch this space for more Cults news.
Acclaim for Cults:
"On Offering, the band has transitioned from doo-wop lilts about heartbreak to spaced-out melodies on hope."  Under the Radar
"('I Took Your Picture With My Eyes Closed') finds the band on a new wave kick that softens the edges from the rock-centric set on 2013's Static"   Billboard
"('Offering') cuts straight to the heart of what makes a Cults' track great, as singer Madeline Follin offers breathy, reflective vocals"  Spin
"Offering is a well-crafted album and the perfect soundtrack for summer nostalgia."  BUST
"There is a newfound confidence and self-awareness in Follin's lyrics that melds seamlessly with the songs' colorful arrangements." Bandcamp
"glittery, synth-laden"   Consequence of Sound  on "Offering"

"Follin's polished and bright, tie dyed vocals ripple over a sea of Metric Fantasies-era synth with a spine-bending riff that bring out a new pathos for Cults."  KEXP  on "I Took Your Picture
"Offering lives up to its name -- Cults give more of themselves on these songs than ever before, and opening themselves to more possibilities pays off with some of their most exciting music."   All Music

"The lyrics are pure romance. It also benefits from a dreamy-sounding chorus - perfect for the last of these summer days."  Hollywood Life  on "I Took Your Picture"
"If "I Took Your Picture" is any indication, their upcoming album may continue to feature the hazy-guitar and high-pitched vocals for which they are known."  Baeble
"The new single is heavy on the shimmery, synth vibes - piled with layers upon layers of background 8-bit fuzz, with Madeline Folin's pure, ethereal vocals slicing through the static psych atmosphere."  The Key WPXN  on "Offering""A mysterious and dark theme, guided by heavy bass and drum beats and lead singer Madeleine Follin's unmistakably angelic vocals."  MXDWN  on "Offering"
***
The NYC-based Cults is Madeline Follin and  Brian Oblivion and Offering marks the band's first LP since the critically acclaimed 2013 album Static.  It also marks the beginning of a more collaborative phase for Cults. The duo have always traded ideas, but for the first time they sat down to jam out ideas together in a room. Follin, who has always written her own parts, came into her own as instrumentalist during the Offering sessions, playing drums and keyboards throughout. Her equal partnership with Oblivion flies in the face of a far-too-common industry assumption that women are passive participants in their own art. Offering also reflects a new confidence in the studio which resulted in the strong, full sound found throughout the album.
