Björk new album Utopia out now on One Little Indian

The album is written by Björk with five of the 14 songs co-written by Arca and one co-written by Sarah Hopkins. All of the songs except one is co-produced by Arca. One of the songs is co-produced by Rabit. Björk formed a twelve piece, Icelandic, all-women flute orchestra, which she arranged for and conducted. She also wrote an arrangement for Hamrahlíðarkórinn, a choir conducted by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir. The album was edited and structured by Björk on Pro Tools. It was engineered by Bergur Þórisson, Bart Migal and Chris Elms. It was mixed by Heba Kadry and Marta Salogni and mastered by Mandy Parnell.

The album cover was created by Jesse Kanda, in collaboration with Björk, James Merry and makeup artist Hungry. The rest of the album artwork features new digital illuminations and typography from MM Paris.

Björk is also the first artist to use cryptocurrency in a meaningful way, making her album available to buy with Bitcoin (BTC), Audiocoin (ADC), Litecoin (LTC) and Dashcoin (DASH) - all now valid currency in her online store.

The  video  to “Blissing Me,” the second single, is directed by Tim Walker and Emma Dalzell, featuring makeup by Hungry and shot in one single take in Iceland.

NO AGE new album and tour

LISTEN TO "DRIPPY" HERE 2017 is nearly over, but guess what? New No Age! Not new age No Age (except for the odd "Sun Spots"/ "Keechie"-style shimmer that only ever makes everything better), but definitely an age of album-making located somewhere beyond and back from where we last heard 'em in 2013.
Recorded in a few days and mixed forever,  Snares Like a Haircut  finds No Age in full on mode, because there was nothing else to do but go full on. In the songs inside the songs, the thumpy/thwappy drums, the desperately voiced paeans to determination, the churning and the stinging-but-shiny fuck-it built into the structure, a promise from the 1980s echoes once again across today, for the undetermined in-between generation reality seekers.
Just take a listen to "Drippy," an absolute ripper with that familiar yet distant flanging of the guitar echoing endlessly in our memory. Urgent and immediate, "Drippy" wraps y'all up in a sweeping wash of sound punctuated by the acute vocals. LA native Cassandra Violet has shared her new single "Pretty" with Atwood Magazine. The track is featured on Cassandra Violet's EP 4 due December 1. Atwood Magazine says, "This track is profoundly personal for Violet, but its relatability transcends individual experience. Add to that the song’s infectious melodies and dynamic claps, and you’ve got a song that refuses to get out of our heads. SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 29, 2017) – Noise Pop Festival, the Bay Area’s premiere indie music and arts festival, is excited to announce the second wave of acts that have been added to the music lineup for the 26th annual event. Over the course of a week, from Monday, February 19 to Sunday, February 25, Noise Pop Festival will transform the entire Bay Area into festival grounds with multiple events taking place across the city each night. Individual tickets to these new performances added today will also go on sale at 10 a.m. PT this Friday, December 1, 2017. Tickets to previously announced shows are already on sale. Both badges and tickets can be purchased at noisepopfest.com. All festival badges now include access to film screening events, bringing even more to the festival experience.
The strength of 90s indie rock in this year’s lineup is amplified by the addition of Built to Spill, who will perform Keep It Like A Secret in its entirety. Also newly added are psychedelic-Cambodian pop act Dengue Fever; a pair of Australian natives and heralded performers Amy Shark and Alex Cameron; and Shamir, who released his third album, Revelations, this November. This latest round of artists to join the bill bring with them lots of high-energy garage rock, punk, and emo in the form of Atlanta-based and female-fronted punk rock trio The Coathangers, who just released their sixth project to date, Parasite EP; Jeff Rosenstock, who you might remember from his previous projects The Arrogant Sons of Bitches, Bomb The Music Industry! and Kudrow; The Hotelier; Tiny Moving Parts; Death Valley Girls; and Mom Jeans.
Two very special and intimate performances this year will include Inara George (of The Bird and the Bee) on Tuesday night at Café Du Nord and Waxahatchee (solo) at Swedish American Hall on the closing night of Noise Pop Festival. Plus, Australian producers Crooked Colours will make their Bay Area debut at the annual Noise Pop & Popscene club night.

This year’s official festival artwork was created by ChiChiLand. Çiğdem “Chi” Michalski is an illustrator, artist and occasional art director in Seattle, who for the past decade was half of the creative duo running Istanbul’s beloved motion design studio – imago. Today, she focuses on art and illustration while continuing to create work in the field of animation and design.
Last year at the 25th annual event, Noise Pop Festival saw its highest attendance yet in the festival’s history with nearly 90% of the acts playing to sold-out crowds and all festival badges selling out in advance. In total, over 28,000 people attended the 2017 festival, which marked a more than 30% increase in attendance from the year prior in 2016, which again was a hallmark year for the annual festival.
The 2017 festival played host to 180+ music artists across more than 17 Bay Area venues, with additional events including concerts, film screenings, art shows and more. The lineup for the 25th anniversary last year again carried on the festival’s musical expansion by including genres of all types including hip-hop, indie rock, electronic, metal, and more. The 2017 festival also welcomed the return of the Noise Pop After Hours at Café du Nord presented by Jameson Music, where the celebration continued multiple nights of the festival with surprise sets from several beloved Bay Area acts, including Thao (of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down), Jay Som, and Con Brio.

The indie-rock band Typhoon have released a new music video for the single "Rorschach" from their forthcoming album Offerings, which will be released January 12th via Roll Call Records. The video, directed by Matthew Thomas Ross, is a frenzied visualization of human contemplation and recollection. It depicts a man sorting through his memories, with each one sparking a new emotional reaction. The video is peppered with other individuals in the same predicament, separated and held captive by screens. 
"This video pulls multiple visual and thematic references from Offerings," shares Ross. "Without giving too much away; our story is playing with the idea of being stuck inside your subconscious, fixated on one memory, while questioning it over and over again. While on the outside, the rest of you continues to age. Moments turn into memories and then memories become memories of a memory..."
In October, the band released Floodplains, the first movement from the album featuring the songs "Wake", "Rorschach", "Empiricist", and "Algernon". Listen to Floodplains  here .

Celebrated UK composer and electronic artist Anna Meredith is excited to announce select winter 2018 tour dates across the US, including stops in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago. The upcoming tour dates will mark Meredith’s second-ever US run, her first wildly-successful visit having been earlier this year with dates including performances at SXSW and Big Ears Festival. These new dates will be in continued support of her debut album Varmints, which was named “Best New Music” by Pitchfork. All upcoming US tour dates are listed below.

Anna Meredith is a genre-crossing composer and producer whose work straddles the worlds of contemporary classical, art pop, electronica and experimental rock. After building an established career in the classical world and two critically acclaimed EPs, she released her much-anticipated debut album, Varmints on Moshi Moshi Records. The critical response was overwhelming with 4 and 5 star reviews across the board from the likes of The Wire, Sunday Times, Uncut, Q Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, DIY and the coveted Best New Music [8.4] on Pitchfork. As well as being Loud & Quiet’s Album of the Year, Varmints also won the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) award.
Her dizzying CV includes being Composer in Residence for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, a piece written for MRI scanner, soundtracking PRADA’s Spring/Summer 2015 campaign, symphonies created for nursery children, music for park benches in Hong Kong and sleep-pods in Singapore. Her body-percussion piece HandsFree received rave reviews from it’s performances at Southbank Centre, Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Utah Youth Symphony and even flash-mobbing the M6 services. She is a regular presenter and guest on radio (Radio3 and 6Music) and television and her music is frequently broadcast on BBC 1,2,3,4,& 6 as well as in films, installations and TV.
