oh my Fucking god. this is the worst thing i could do to myself for a number of reasons, one of them being the fact that i find the world utterly fascinating and the characters fairly interesting but i absolutely cringe at the writing style and am startled fairly often. i want this book ti be a part of my life but i can tell right away that the writing will give me grief and this is so unfair i want to Scream

it's literally the middle of the book and i'm just now leraning the reason behind the way the world works. it's tolerable when there's enough action and actually interrsting characters i can follow, but here??? it was long overdue bye

i have little to no idea how this world works and why the girls are sent to fight for the supereior's attention and how they are chosen, but i'm introduced to another world of a highly secure prison for women that is absolutely detcached from the initial world. what is the Point. please Explain

i think dina is the kind of author who builds their fictional work around themselves, so that it is impossible to read their books in any order other than chronological, starting the year the first short story was published. i'm not quite sure if it's a bad thing on its own, but it is frustrating to realize while you're trying to read a book from "the middle period". like, i don't get ur inside jokes abt ur life yk
