this book is difficult to read, i go like 30 pages a day instead of my usual 100, shocking, but in my humble opinion it is worth the struggle. it's disgusting, immoral, absolutely unbearable and detailed and yet i'm loving every second of it. w t f

this book needs a break lmao, and i need a break from this book. i do like it, like i said you just have to get used to the style and the tone, but it's still a lot and i'll pick up something else

that is so pretentious i'm yelling. i genuinely can't take the narrator seriously, and i think that's the intention. i think he looks at himself with morbid humour and it just takes time to adjust to the writing style and pacing, and once you do it everything gets better.

idk man, idk. either i've read too much burroughs and bulgakov in my life already that i just don't see anything shocking or outrageous in this, or am just a vile and cynical being. this is a diary but it does not feel like one, for some reason, that's probably my main problem with this book? idk. i'll see where it gets me though.

i'm overjoyed. it was like two or three days that i had to wait for this book to arrive and i feel like i waited ages, i missed this story so much !! anyway, everything hurts, everything's happening all at once and i love it. i'm only confused with the timing, i guess radu is supposed to be a month ahead of lada for some reason yet unknown, but it's still a bit odd.

this is it. i am finally seeing why everyone loves this book (i think?). lada is slowly winning me over and threatening to become my absolute favourite female character, and, um, does this mean i'll have to get a sequel now? i honestly didn't expect to love it so much

literally stopping mid-sentence here to yell I TAKE THAT BACK holy shit!!! women scheming behind men in power!!! women empowering and supporting eachother!! also i love huma and her philosophy, she's very much like my own mother so i may be sentimental but still, i agree with her and i love it that lada is changing. also..<,,,g,.ay.,.??//? okok

i can't believe i'm going so slow. in my defence it still reads like a buildup to an actual story, like i'm holding my breath waiting for some Actual Real Plotline to start and it just doesn't. i can't say i don't like the characters or the setting, i'm just a bit bored? disappointed? idk like this does not satisfy me ya feel

idk what page im on tbh, i just hate the fact that it's hanging there without an update. anyway, what i'm doing is having fun underlining my fav quotes and stupid jokes with a red micron pen using different line shapes for each character. and i'm also doodling on the pages. this is fun. wylan is proud of me.

i think i like lada. i definitely like the concept itself, i like radu, the whole sisterly affection is v relatable to me so yeah that's nice. there was a treacherous thought in my head today though, i was considering sending the book back for a refund and you know, that's not a good thing, but. i'm kinda willing to give it a chance? it all feels like a stretched out prologue to the actual events for now

i keep toying with the idea of putting this book down for good. this page pulls me in but the next is giving me all the unnecessary details and lots of fighting which is kinda boring at this point. i'm tired of following the characters i'm not emotionally connected to.

i just wanna say, i'm glad to come back to this series. it's fresh hell and it hurts and burns but im here to die for my kid neil josten anyday. i love him. still doesn't mean tfc is hella confusing and messy (just as your proper gay should be, duh), but at least i'm sentimental now, right

i'm not satisfied with the characters and yet to get any closure, but it is indeed action-packed. i also enjoy the writing style: i find it pleasant and uh. idk. surprising for a debut? i guess. i like it so far.
