ok so here's the tea: i've been neglecting kindle mostly because i thought that reading books from my phone would feel like reading fanfiction and it's an entirely different sort of entertainment for me. guess what? this book is exactly what i feared my kindle experience would be. except, it's not the app's fault. you know.

literally reads like a random action movie you'd watch with your family on a saturday night out and go get some junk food afterwards. no strings attached, no hard feelings, just action and some banter.

listen. do not. even. don't even say anything to me. it's free on kindle. free. the entire series is like 2$ total. i had to. i just. there's no way i'm not rereading all three books this time

reasons: 1) i finally gave in and got kindle 2) i had to check it oit asap or i'd never get to it. i spent nearly 4$ on this and so far it's not worth a cent

i've been reading this book for ages it seems, and yet i don't want it to be over, which is weird. am i suddenly a fan of biography? um..,??? wow

im most certainly not dead just too deep into revising russian history which takes up time that i could spend on reading another book along with this one. am i enjoying meself tho? absoLUTELY i am

i cant even say what is so appealing about this? i dont know? but i just love the atmosphere of the tsarist russia that is so vivid and real, because im literally reading about the life of one of the people closest to the romanovs pre- (and then post-) revolution

not to be one of Those gays-did-not-exist-until-recently people, but because i'm personally not accustomed to reading about the non-heterosexual experiences in russia (19th century especially,) i pretty much teared up don't mind me this man's thoughts are beautiful and i love him

my russian roots have come to life & kicked me in the guts after i visited my Absolute Favourite Palace On Earth and now i'm reading this memoir of a chaotic bisexual man who owned that estate and successfully plotted against rasputin (also yes im doing the commentary & review in english bc i Can)

i mean it may be a fun idea, with styled pages and all, but in all honesty i expected the writing to be at least half as good as the presentation
