this page fucking demolished me good, bye,

this book is a fucking embodiment of anxiety bordering on panick attack. perfectly convincing and disorienting and terrifying, endlessly stretching on and on. i hate my panic attacks. why am i loving this book. why am i letting it drag me down with it.

kind of a side note but can anyone seriously tell me, a european high school graduate, is this whole "class system" in american high schools real? like, is this legit and all the books and movies know their shit? i'm tired of this "jocks don't talk to lit nerds" shit and i want to know if i should hate the americans or the books they're writing

between the staggering naivity, a passion for innuendos and fierce pinning for his best friend, monty might just be my favourite narrator of all time. like. come on. the pirates tie you up and the only thing you can think of is how you've only been tied to a headboard before. i love it.

ok im bored more than anticipated and id hate to dnf but i just. i dont like it, its such a not my kind of story/main character/universe that i just cant

ive been skimming this utterly boring & predictable book since page 80-something i hate this

sigh. sighjghgjhgkjh. i don't care about a single person in this book, i've seen approximately 18982 variations of the words "groundling" and "silk-hatter" at this point, i'm tired of this girl constantly screaming "omg im gonna be a filmmaker" while barely doing anything, and oh my god. oh my GOD the freezing-in-front-of-your-crush AND high-school-hierarchy-is-a-thing cliches are SO outdated. just. no. why the hell

there are books that are timeless. there are children's books that are relevant and enjoyable no matter how old the reader is. sadly, harry potter is not one of them.

1) i am 19 years old. this is my first time reading harry potter.
2) my best friend has been a harry potter fan since before i've known her.
3) if my best friend finds out i'm reading it, i'm pretty sure i will be in some sort of friend-trouble.
with that said, i hope you're ready to embark on this journey with me as i'm sure it will be fun.

if this still feels empty, not enough and too slow by the 200 page mark, i'll have to dnf. i had such high hopes for this book and i don't see any of them met

idk guys its going fine like its not a bad book and i love how its written and it is objectively v good but why do i feel like i dont feel anything about it?? like the only distinct thing about it is that it reads like a fairy tale and i appreciate the sentiment but it doesnt give me anything new or super interesting in terms of characters or setting

this book is difficult to read, i go like 30 pages a day instead of my usual 100, shocking, but in my humble opinion it is worth the struggle. it's disgusting, immoral, absolutely unbearable and detailed and yet i'm loving every second of it. w t f
