a lot of things to love in this book but in particular the fact that so far Audre Lorde has been cited thrice !!

this is so.... like. typically russian classic-like. i am living for this. it feels like coming home which is i guess exactly what it's supposed to feel like idk

this is so funny and absolutely delightful

not gonna mention the writing style because it's very un-literary. what is worst i think is the obvious favouritism. like, some of the entries, predominantly those about non-russian figures, are 4-5 pages long, and then russian tsars/tsaritsas and poets get 15 each. i'd rather read a shorter book with evenly captivating content than an obvious page-filler

this is a book about the death of 30 notable people written by two medical professionals and the chapter about Henry VIII opens with fatphobic jokes. i am positively flabbergasted
