this is a bit weird and... different. i like how it starts almost in medias res and there's, like, the characters's parents and schools on the background which doesn't feel not fleshed out but instead carefully considered and just put to the side for the sake of the main story. i also really like the magic. it's. very. unclear. which i think what teenage magic should be?
