Heavy info dumping... not written smoothly at all... nevertheless I’m enjoying the world that has been created. I like Shin and feel anticipation for what is to come. There are different races from rifts that are around. I can tell we were told of things that will be needed later... it needed a more natural setting to tell us these things so we’d remember better.

Hmmm interesting dual worlds... so much Death right off!

Too much description with too many words... but I like Gwen and Abby her new leader. The battle that got her in trouble was well laid out and described! I think I will enjoy this!

I like this girl... she’s in a tough spot!

GAHHHHH so fun despite its flaws!! Loved it!

Wow! This is a little corny, a bit predictable and a touch easy but very fun, different and full of dragons! Love the world building and the characters, especially her family. Everything is shallow in a way, but enjoyable.

Thru chap 16 - The mother is caught by investigators and fights so her daughter can get away... Kaneki finds the girl and keeps her from seeing her mom slaughtered in front of her. They don’t want to kill a dive because it will mean ward 20 is a threat.

They explain they rescued his friend from him... after he went all ghoul on the other ghoul’s ass to stop him from eating his friend... they healed him up and said he got hurt from a car crash. They give him his first lesson on eating human food. Then she takes him to get his first mask from Uta.

Cute. All telling. But I like her voice.

The extras are always so incredible, love reading about the process.

The main two have never questioned because they’ve always lived for each other ... so brat is in a love triangle! It started because she let him kill those two terrorists who killed his team. Just absolutely incredible story!

I zoomed through this volume... did mean to but soon I was at the end of chap 6! I wasn’t quite getting it at first... then we got Rey’s back history. We were left with only the 4 the main two and Ringo and Brat. They got Loner a new kid who makes it to adulthood. Ringo wasn’t found but I knew he’d show up. And wow! That end is so startling! Talk about a dog and pony show!

Love that we are seeing about brat and ringo! Too bad that other kid broke...

The short story at the end about the jester and her little brother was sooooo sad!

Chap 28 - Poor Miden and his poor mother... actually I don’t get the big idea about executing a man who steals supplies on a ship with limited resources... maybe they were all doing something criminal and that was why they feared... maybe Ouni IS Miden?!

Chap 27 - Poor Dyo... loving someone so long that refused her because of some perceived loyalty. Miden was fascinating... seems to be Ouni’s precursor...? The first mayor! And her history is so cool!

Chap 26 - wow! They found info the previous mayor left in the spine of her journal! It’s rather a maze but they find a key on the ground that reveals a hidden door. Covering the walls are stories and it seems to be a kids room... the designs for this at the center of the mud whale are really neat! I forget about Chakuro’s hypergraphia...

And I’m done! It was soooo good! Hands down one of my favorite Asian novels this year!! Such a woman’s journey...

This Nobu / Shin section is fascinating and I had guessed right about Madame Sabo but the girl’s plans are so good too!

The mystery deepens in this chapter... Aima is trying to survive it seems... Neri is her better half named by the eldest leader... seems something happened in the past... how neat thought that Aima mirrored the mud whale from the past...

The genetic tinkering was fascinating and I think it’s intriguing she calls them monsters, but doesn’t think anything of her role in what Gen has done...

Wow that end... Still I think Gen should have been killed without much thought. Once I realized he was making monstrous changes to the androids already plaguing the planet I would find it my duty to the empress to take him out of the equation. Also the twist with Saki is cheap in a way... but it’s not like foreshadowing isn’t in place for it.

GAHHHHH I ADORE this book! I love the subtle off the page magic that permeates the story. I also am in love with the realistic historical feel to the story even though it couldn’t possibly be true. The madame who found her is too sweet! She does want what she wants but still she takes quite good care of our girl! The way times kind of swishes back and forth is fascinating if not totally to my liking.

Wow... talk about a mass of enemies!!

She comes up with the idea to start her own Corp! After finally realizing about Saki and Shun and the Samurai Seven!

Wow! How rough did the Koreans have it?! To be dumped on the street after being conscripted in the war! Still it makes my heart hurt when moms leave their kids in abusive situations... Lion is cool though!! To have such a friend!

Pretty scary whatever is going on with her memory! She deals with the kidnappers but it’s pretty rotten. Yakuza come after her! Is Atsumi still double dealing on her?!

Chap 5 - they work together to get back and do become closer from having gotten lost! I hope they become good friends.

Chap 6 - haha they bond over a scavenger hunt but get lost in the forest! Pretty cute... we learn the dark haired girl is there because she’s crushing on the teacher (the bro)!

Chap 5 - thinks so appear easy for him... and unfortunately not caring is the key... it’s sad but the fact she cares makes everything harder. Crappy that she seems to be the only one who wants to really take part!
