Well this is a rather horrifying origin story! Poor little Ken Kaneki! What a good friend Hide is too!! Touka is fascinating... she was supposedly born the way she is... so for Kaneki to hate it insults her terribly. Still she helps him... I love Mr. Yoshimura! He’s kind, probably due to experience, but still. Love his perspective that he belongs to both worlds.

How horrible to be sold just because your brother was nice to you!

This is slow starting but I do like our protagonist and don’t blame her for warming up to Rin. She is in a bit of a hard place noting being suitable to professional life on this planet.

Gosh her brother Shintaro is such an ass! He pisses me off so much.

Pretty neat of her brother to show her the silk and tell her about her origins!

The face shifting to his friend’s was quite eerie! I wonder why that happened?! I’m glad they helped the Rovenni to escape! Good thing the birds helped her steal the herbs she needed and so she could overhear about Baruva being there...

Too much freaking baseball... I felt like this was written for an adult but with a child narrator. It sure dives in deep what it means to be a foster child with adopted parents.

I like Wesley but this is an odd book!

The last two chapters... the mero people kick them out because the Fox comes. Ping is sorry... the cat is back in her human form... she dies and talks to her brother Asher who is bitter he’s dead. Suddenly she becomes the cat again and is healed! Pretty fascinating series. I really liked Ping. Crazy but cool. The culture is amaze!

Chap 5 - our solider is in the midst of a vision of the past when the queen’s brother turned the Q into the cat and she killed the brother... he said he’s dead before that?! Then Hunters come and she is called out but the queen jumps in front of arrows. The metro people drive off the hunters but the cat needs to be healed!

Chap 4 - the hunters and her track the queen to Moro... we learn the queen and her guard were lovers maybe. She runs from them and follows the Fox that showed her visions of her dead queen, she rejoins her queen and ping.

Chap 2 - she looses the cat to the following man who doesn’t think the cat should go to isola... a man tries to blackmail the soilder girl but the little creature girl she was nice to comes and has her wolves eat him... gifts her with a book. The hunter clan captures the solider girl coming back to no cat!

Chap 1 - a cat is a princess? There is the servant who seems to forget who the cat is at times? Ordering her about, lol. A man comes and offers to teach her to talk to the cat... he gets chased away by hunter clans... the servant makes an enemy of them.

Riku comes home and they explain that for Rei’s benefit Chiaki and Ten are pretending to date... we learn Rei is Riku’s younger brother.

Rei the creepy guy tries to woo Ten and Chiaki and The other guy fight to protect her. I’m not sure what this is about... getting to read Chiaki’s POV was neat though and his school friend was funny.

Love the shorts at the end about their routines in the morning... J eats breakfast that’s the family rule! The girl goes for a run then a shower. R drinks coffee then watches all 3 channels weather girls, lol. Shiba sleeps, toilet then sleeps.

Chap 7 - Love the next mission a training exercise to defeat illusions a Mononoke May throw at them... R faces his brother who we learn got overtaken by their family sword which had a Mononoke in it. The girl faced her mother who she learned when she joined was locked in a stone version of herself. Jiro faces a monster familiar to Rago...

Thru chap 6 - they go on their first mission to the shrine Rago was unsealed at... he tells them what he remembered, not much! Jiro learns his dad has a reputation from the Mononoke he fought! They feel a bit in the dumps because of how things went down but Jiro feels more a part of the team... love him and R and how different they are!

Gah they fall in love so quickly... I don’t know it was all so hurried.

I like Akira and Taro... I like Asami too... not really liking the MC... she’s cold and yet overly ridiculous about killing. There’s no romance happening... I’m sensing how this will end which makes the rooms a waste... so it’s getting boring fast... I love the world and the yokai but it’s not saving the book... I do love the weapon master!

Reads like a history book, heavy like a manly version of Laini Taylor writing. Not my taste but not bad. Love the world building, felt very British. I liked the MC but too much talk of sex for my taste. The ending was quite extended, but I liked when he went back in time! Poor Leslie! The mystery was quite puzzling and the twist with the ghost was good!

The whole hamburgers thing was super cute!

I really like Akira... boy of nightmares... poor kid! And she doesn’t love him... he follows anyway. And now Taro is caught too... giving up freedom to see her again. I liked Hiro and BFF Masa who she saved! Wonder when and why we see them again!

Hmmm he’s got his own theory and is off to investigate it with Beverly.

Haha this opus pretty good with paranormal creatures and crazy magic. Love his boss and the mother Thames.

Wow... she’s so smart... I love that and it’s shown to us and pretty neat! The time with her family was neat too... loved how they broke the hold the bad leaders had on their church. The healing was CRAZY! I love Occam and Tandy!
