Why does this start out with "paul had seen me chop up demons and jump out of windows" and then quickly retcon that again into "I'd told him the truth once"

I hesitate to add things like this to my currently reading because there's a fair chance I won't finish it. That said, this is a really nice, readable and well referenced and translated copy.

So far this is pretty basic and badly written and you could more or less replace the word "dragon" with "man" and "dragonet" with "child" and not much would change. That said I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.

I think I'm melting

I always got told off for starting sentences (chapters!) with "Suddenly thing happened"

Also "the river comes from underground and goes somewhere else underground I can hold my breath for an hour, let's go further underground via the river to escape, this is a fantastic idea"

So far I've bought herodotus and an abridged copy of description de l'egypte, reading non-fiction is expensive, I'd like a couple more too but sadly I cannot read French. I'd like to know French... Maybe I should buy a book on French oh god somebody help me

Welp, today I found 8 of these books on the carboot for 10p each, I have no real excuse not to read them properly now. :v: (Granted 2 of them were ones I already had and I can't find where I've left book 1, but apart from that!)

Picking random things off my To Read list, Rape of the Nile was too expensive so this was choice #2, not terribly hopeful but we'll see!

This last 5% has felt like the end of the book, but there's 30% to go. And then there isn't another book for ages! How will I cope!

It's also really starting to get quite creepy. These dragon horses right, they're living thinking beings, they have deep emotions and can communicate with humans on a level beyond speech. So the kid is riding it around and they're talking about breeding for docility and temperament.

I'm p. sure he's getting orgasms every time he look it in the rainbow coloured eyes.

For a book named "Dragon Horse" there is a severe lack of dragon horses. There's been one so far and it got about 3 paragraphs before it pranced off.

Is there going to be a whole plot at some point about how the gods are stagnating and nothing significant has happened to them for ~2000 years because it seems that way. I get it's cause the author wants to teach kids myths, just seems odd.

The way it bounces from scene to scene makes me suspect he's actually in a comma and this is gonna end with "and it was all a dream"
