My next audiobook. I was given all 3 novellas in the series so I figured I'd listen to them back to back.

My current audiobook. The author was kind enough to send me the whole series and because they're novellas, I'm rocketing through.

Yes, I'm currently listening to one of my own books. My last audio was a DNF and I've been meaning to see how the narrator did with this one for a while.

This one really drops you in it. It kinda feels more like a book 2 than 1 so far.

Full of purple prose and self congratulatory scenes, this book might be the most meta novel I've ever read. Bloody Slaanesh.

This book is fantastic!

It's really weird how some chapters are told from a past tense for seemingly no reason.

Well shit just got real emotional.

At some point I would like the HH books to not start by re-treading ground from books 1-3.

Well this is pretty fantastic so far. It's a dense book for sure, with a lot of terminology and history to get your head around, but it's also so full of emotion.

Urgh! Lightsong can bugger off and give us an interesting PoV any and every time.

I'm struggling to get into this one. The setting is interesting and the magic system pretty cool... but all the characters come across as so damned smug. It's as if every single person in the book honestly believes they are the smartest person in the room at all times and must show it with dialogue that means nothing and goes nowhere.

The literal humour of Lightsong, while somewhat charming in Shallan (Stormlight), is just annoying. I can't decide if it's because it appears to be ALL the character has, or if it's because he delivers it with such a smug attitude. I dislike him.
