Paul is a truly unlikable main focal point. Is it bad I'm rooting for Sting?

I'm finding it a little weird that some scenes are done with all the narrators, and other scenes are just Simon Vance. I can't figure out why, and my brain won't let me forget the question...

SPFBO read number 3. A bit of litRPG in my group.

Herbert's odd style still grates a little at times, but the narration team have done a wonderful job with this one. So odd to have a different voice for each character.

Well holy fucking shit that was awesome!

Never could get to grips with the style of Dune when reading it. But I love the story so I'm gonna try it on audio.

What the fuck just happened?!?!?

Well that was one of the weirdest, most awkward chapters of a book I've ever read. One moment Taniel is telling Ka-poel that she should still be playing with dolls, and the next he's wondering what she tastes like? I mean, just finding out someone is older than you first thought should not turn them from child to "let's get it on".

I don't know. Weird chapter. Left a sour taste in the mouth.

The pacing on this one is a bit weird. It's either full on race, or napping. Nothing inbetween.

Things are heating up. Still not really feeling Rah, but Cassandra and Miko are awesome.

Really enjoying Cassandra as a PoV character.

This one is coming on holiday with me. Not sure I'll have too much time to read, but there's a few hours of travel each ways! :D

I really quite like the concept and the banter between characters and the prose... but this book is so damned slow. 70% in and they've only just got the suicide squad together.

I'm taking a break from listening to Horus' heresy, so this will be my next listen.

SPFBO4 read. I'll say it right now, this book is not formatted for kindle and it's making it tough to read.

Well the narrator sure goes at this one with a breathless rush. What's that? I'm being picky with my narrators again? I know, so surprising.

Next up on the SPFBO 4 read is this one. The cover is super green.

I've gotta say it's a bit slow paced at times, but very well written. I get the feeling this book is mostly about setting up characters. There's not much in the way of heresy.

Pretty damned good so far. Dan Abnett definitely knows how to write, and Toby Longworth is narrating the hell out of it!
