The parallels to Prince of Fools are extremely interesting. Very intrigued to see how Mark makes it all pay off.

Story is interesting. Jal is still a little annoying. Onwards!

Taking this book on holiday. Hopefully I'll find plenty of reading time.

So this one has gone from guns, dragons, vampires, and magic to a depressing look at drug abuse and fractured memories.

OK, I have roughly no idea what is happening. Gun fights, electric demons, drugs, dreams of dragons.... no idea.

Taking a quick break from Red Queen's War to read Kenny Soward's Galefire 1 because I was supposed to read it when it first released and didn't because I'm a slacker.

Finished. I'll get it reviewed tomorrow. I like to leave a book to sit with me a day after finishing before collecting my thoughts.

Not sure about the Ancrath chapters. Felt like a little bit of fan service in some ways, but at the same time gave a definite time period as to when the book is set... which is nice. Jalan is becoming less infuriating.

Not gonna lie... Jalan is annoying.

I can't wait to start this one. But can it match up the adventures of little Jorgy Ancrath?

Almost finished with this one. Review will be coming shortly.

Less than 100 pages to go and the pace is finally picking up. One thing I will say about Brett. He is probably the best fantasy author writing today when it comes to making you care about both sides of a conflict.

I kinda feel like half this book is filler... but it's interesting filler unlike GRRM's page upon page of livery and food description.

While I'm not sure how an aura can show sarcasm... Brett does write good action scenes.

It's probably just me but 90% of Adare's dialogue feels like her screaming "I'M THE EMPEROR!"

The more I read the more I'm starting to think the whole reading people thing is an excuse for point of view slips. It's really quite annoying and, much like Daylight War, is spoiling an excellent story.

Finally getting around to starting this. Enjoying it so far but the ability everyone seems to have to know exactly what others are thinking/feeling is still pissing me off.

I think I've figured out what bugs me about Adare. There is no humour in her. She is joyless. Even Valyn, after everything he's been through, has a dark vein of humour left to him. It just makes Adare feel shrill and hollow.

Valyn is back! The story has just got better again. Fairly slow going so far but things are finally starting to move along.

One of the things I love about Seth's Valducan series, is the unpredictability. It's so rare I don't see twists coming.

Pretty damned good so far. Plot is shaping up nicely and it's really good to see some of the previous major players getting some page time. Also, Seth writes good sexy scenes. :D

This one isn't out yet. Sometimes the perks of being an author are awesome. Can't wait to get my teeth into it.

It starts!

Well I was promised insanity and that's just what I'm getting. Some definite Pratchett-esque vibes so far.

I'll be starting this one as soon as it arrived in the post. Tiny toy pirates and a glimpse into the mind of a maniac (the author), I can't wait.

Not finished Providence of Fire yet but needed to spend my audible credits so I have got this one in preparation.

The story is interesting and fun. The characters are oddly endearing. But the constant name dropping of 80's pop references is jarring.

Maybe I'm a bit cynical, but so far this book feels like it's name dropping 80's pop culture reference just to make a generation feel relevant again.
