I feel this book is currently sitting in the calm before the storm. I expect a big finish is right around the corner.

Picked up this one on audio. It's a short one so I'm gonna get on it before diving into the next epic.

Asian influenced fantasy, pirates, elemental magic, dispossessed wolf spirits. I'm here for this book!

I've been very lazy updating my progress. I'm most of the way through this one and enjoying it.

Picked up this novella because it's short, based on a real life creepy AF tale, and because Petrik Leo is a drug dealer who pushed books on poor unsuspecting readers.

It's really tense so far!

My next audiobook. Had this one on preorder for a long time, and I'm raring to go.

I'm just a few pages in but dear gods this book has a lot of character. Really jumps off the page.

I'm giving this a re-listen. I'd almost forgotten how unfairly amazing this book is.

You know that feeling when you really want to finish a book because you're loving it... But also really don't want to finish a book because you're loving it? Yeah, that.

Gotta admit, I'm struggling with this one a bit now. It's a preference thing, I think. I'm just not into noblebright as a genre.

I'm really enjoying this one. A brutal look at colonialism along with some ff romance. The characters are just awesome.

Good book so far. Really classical feel.

My next audiobook listen.

So this is driving me a little insane. It seems like a massive inconsistency to me.

If the slow zone changed the laws of physics so anything faster than a grenade launcher just stops... How are people still firing guns?

Book 3 is so much slower than 1 & 2. It's the first one where I can say the TV show was a mile and a half better. Also, book Holden comes across as selfish and just plain dumb.

I have no problem with chosen one tropes. What I hate is when chosen one characters can do something an old master says is hard or even impossible simply by wanting to. It happens in this book... A lot.

This one is definitely a slower burn... Sorry. Bad joke, I know. Partly due to introducing 3 new PoV characters, I think, but it's taken 170 pages for anything to actually happen.

My current audiobook. Nothing gripping me so far, but nothing putting me off either.

I'm pretty sure I'd read an entire book about Avasarala. Such an excellent character.

Well so far it lines up with series with barely a change. Though it is good to see inside Miller's head a bit more.

Well... I love the TV show. Time to find out if I love the source material.

My first ever graphic audiobook... it's odd but works. And Elantris itself so far is... definitely a Sanderson book.

Weirdly, this book makes me really want to play Diablo...

What was the running speed of a panicked pig? Such things had to be carefully measured.

Kinda feels like a 90s kids cartoon grew up and got gritty. I'm here for it!

This one feels a lot emptier than book 1. The world is less alive. It feels like only the major characters and their enemies/allies exist and the rest of the people living in the world have vanished. I loved how book 1 felt like a living world, but book 2 is feeling more like a stage so far.

I'm at the point where I'm finding this book intensely frustrating and it's making it hard work to read. The action sequences are so poorly described I have no idea what's happening in them half the time.

My next audiobook. Loved book 1 so can't wait to get this one started.

Nothing about this one is wowing me yet. It's readable enough, but there's nothing constantly calling me back to the book.
