My next audiobook.

I'm continuing my re-read of the trilogy because I loved book 1 so much.

I started a few books recently and DNF'd them all for various reasons. I felt like I was on a losing streak with my pickings. So, I decided to pick up my special anniversary edition of Assassin's Apprentice which I've been meaning to read for a few years now.

And I am loving this book as much as I did the first time I read it about 20 years ago!

Can't find the audiobook version on GR but I'm listening to this one.

I am considering DNF'ing. I hate doing that, but urgh!

A bit dry so far. Lots of intricate world building, but the characters feel a bit wooden and the info dumps are real.

My next audiobook. Recommended by a blogger friend of mine. Also, circles on covers are pleasing.

I gotta admit, this one is less fist pumping and more eye rolling so far.

I love this series! So good to be back in the world again.

I started reading the Expanse about a year ago. Took a nice long break after book 3. Time to read 4-6. 😁

This novel feels like Sanderson writing Jumanji.

My audio sci-fi-athon continues. I swear, I mostly read (listen) to fantasy, but this is now the 4th sci-fi book in a row. And I have 2 more lined up behind it. :D

Definitely has a creative new take on a classic fantasy race.

I've just realised what style this book reminds me of. It's very reminiscent of the Grey Bastards by Jonathan French.

There is A LOT of personality in this book. Also A LOT of sexy time. I'm enjoying the voice so far.

I seem to be listening to a lot of sci-fi at the moment. My last 2 audiobooks were sci-fi, and I have another 4 or 5 waiting in the library. As this is a nice short one, and I thoroughly enjoyed Murderbot 1, I figured I'd jump on this.

There is something oddly sterile about this book. It has an interesting mystery at its core, some wildly in-depth world building... but there's just something odd about it that just means it never captures my attention fully. I keep finding my mind wandering.

My current audiobook. I've listened to and read a lot more sci-fi than normal this year.

Has an odd delivery style, but I'm liking it. Currently taking a break from it while I go over my Spirits of Vengeance audiobook before release, but raring to dive back in.

I'm reading this one to participate in Petrik Leo's discord read along thing. It's pretty good so far. Bizarre and quirky.

My next audiobook. I'm a big fan of Adrian so can't wait to dive in.

I was given an ARC of this one by the publisher. I was also told it was a standalone, yet it feels very much like a book 2.

How do I know how good Brian is at characterisation? Because I am desperate for Gwenna to snap out of her funk and kick the shit out of Jonan.

I have to say, while I'm really enjoying Gwenna and Ruc's PoVs... I can't stand Akiil. I don't think the narrator of that particular PoV helps matters. I'm actually tempted to move the hardback when his chapters pop up and skip over his narration entirely.

Bloody hell. I'm one chapter in and already I can see Octavia Butler saw some shit coming a mile away... Or a couple of decades away, I guess.

I usually tend towards the more serious side of fantasy, but a booktuber I follow said this one is something a bit special and I have enjoyed Sir Terry's scribblings in the past.

I actually have both the audio and hardback versions of this book. Not sure which one to dive into.

I had no idea what to expect going into this one. But DAMN, is it hard hitting.

So I was gonna jump on the new Brian Staveley book next, but I am determined to read all the SPFBO winners this year, so it will have to wait. :D

I have heard nothing but amazing things about Orconomics. I'm expecting wit and savage scrutiny of the economic systems of reality. And orcs maybe.
