Simply exquisite, gripping, and tension-packed; The Bard’s Blade by Brian D. Anderson is an enthralling start to a series.

Vylari is hospitable and picturesque although it is a quite mundane environment where we are introduced to the two point of view characters that we follow throughout the narrative. I received an advance reader copy of this one (which already marks it as different because I don't get many of those!) in return for an honest review.

Let's get this out of the way real quick. One of the main characters is called Lem and he's a musician and at no point does anyone call him Lemmy... That's it! 1 star. ;-)

OK, on to the real review.

The Bard's Blade reads a little bit like a portal fantasy, I guess. It follows two young lovers (Lem and Maryiah) who are thrust out of their small world
